PLATINUM CARD at 9/4 may be worth a look for horse racing betting on Monday* (betting odds recorded 18:30 GMT on August 8th 2021 at 888sport).

Things have gone well for him after switching to the flat. On his handicap debut two weeks ago, he was at course and distance.

Platinumcard took a win in that effort, his second in his last three and only comes up 1lb from that effort. So that suggests that he can get himself in the frame.

KOLISI could bounce back after getting things wrong at Glorious Goodwood, being far too keen on an effort. A drop back in trip will help.

So too DREAM WITH ME who has a similar story. He was too keen on his latest run at Sandown, the handicapper potentially having caught up with him.

But Dream With Me is a two-time course and distance winner. He could have a shout.

This is expected to be a tight scrap between BARN OWL and CHALK STREAM who are current joint favourites.

BARN OWL just takes preference at 15/8* (betting odds recorded 18:30 GMT on August 8th 2021 at 888sport).

On his last trip here at Ripon, he dug in well to take a win. That was on a slightly shorter trip and he followed that up with another strong effort in a runner-up finish at Sandown.

Barn Owl looks to be sitting on a threatening mark and just gets the nod ahead of CHALK STREAM who should be in this.

He has won two of his last four and after a victory at York just over two weeks ago, he comes up 4lb in the ratings.

CARRIGILLIHY is probably the biggest threat to those two. She is a course and distance winner who missed out on a hattrick chance on her latest.

There was a struggle for her at Thirsk 8 days ago, not being seen to the best effect.

He has been in great form lately, having been in the frame in each of his last four. Fast Medicine picked up a win on his penultimate run which was at Chelmsford City in June.

The threat from Fast Medicine comes from him being sat on the same mark as he was when he took a second-place finish on his handicap debut 26 days ago.

COSMOS RAJ receives weight from everyone else in this race. On his latest run, he picked up an excellent win at Newmarket. There’s a 4lb rise for him to handle on Monday.

BLU BOY also brings form to the table, bringing three wins in his last five runs. The challenge for him comes from a 2lb rise.

It has been four straight wins from her and she doesn’t look done improving yet. A week ago there was a victory for her over course and distance.

Tregony may be tough to knock over here.

GENERAL LEE looks to be the biggest threat to the favourite. With the blinkers on, he claimed a course and distance win on his latest, so should be right in the mix.

The final one for the shortlist is TRICOLORE who picked up a win on his reappearance in March.

After a gelding op, he took 4th of 6 at Newcastle a week ago after a break of three months.

MAIDEN CASTLE comes down in class and therefore he should be right in the frame here. He was a course and distance winner in April.

On his latest run, he was third of six at Doncaster a couple of months ago. But it is FOREST FALCON who just gets the nod.

Forest Falcon is a quote of 15/8 to land the win on Monday as a horse racing betting tip* (betting odds recorded 18:30 GMT on August 8th 2021 at 888sport).

Not only is Forest Falcon down in grade, but he is also down 3lb in the weights.

So that should give him a big chance here. He had a solid fifth in a Goodwood Handicap on his latest run.

YANKEE STADIUM comes back up on a trip here with the cheekpieces going back on. This follows a second place in the Newmarket handicap just over two weeks ago.

KRAKEN POWER looks to be the way to go in this contest from a quote of 7/2* (betting odds recorded 18:30 GMT on August 8th 2021 at 888sport).

He stays at the same mark as he was when taking a place finish at Musselburgh 10 days ago. He was a close third in that one.

This race isn’t likely to be as testing as that so any kind of positive follow-up effort should see him get close.

ATIYAH should be in the mix, but she has been handed a huge 11lb rise which could be testing for her. It’s been two wins from five runs this season for her.

The other for the shortlist in racing betting is STAY SMART who has won over course and distance this year. Recent form hasn’t been hot, but he could enjoy himself back here.
