Today’s horse racing tips feature some selections from the top races of the day on a big Saturday of action.

There is the Summer Plate at Market Rasen and the Hackwood from Newbury to look forward to.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

There is such a good field here for this Market Rasen contest on Saturday. The claims run deep through it.

The first selection for the shortlist is going to be CAPTAIN TOM CAT. He can’t be ignored at the moment as he’s going from strength to strength.

It’s been three wins from three from him this season over the fences. He breezed to a victory on his latest at Worcester three weeks ago in a novice.

Captain Tom Cat returns to handicapping here and the assessor has given him a huge chance.

FIRE AWAY is fascinating as well for this interest. He has proven form over the fences, having won four chases before.

He switches from hurdling where he has been thriving recently, taking back to back wins. He is not to be underestimated in this field.

But our horse racing tip is FRANCKY DU BERLIAS at 7/1* (betting odds recorded 22:18 GMT on July 16th 2021 at William Hill).

He was on a hattrick bid at Cartmel last time out, attempting to complete that from a career-high mark.

The win was just beyond him, but he handled the mark superbly and looks in top form at the moment.

So Francky Du Berlais just gets the nod in a deep, competitive fixture.

Another strong contest for the day here as we move to Newbury for the Hackwood Stakes which is a Group 3.

KING’S LYNN rates a threat as he has been at Group 1 on his last two efforts which were at Royal Ascot and at Wokingham.

He met trouble in both of those runs, so it’s hard to gauge just where he is at. There is some strong pressure coming in by other progressive types in this contest as well.

Our preference is for DILIGENT HARRY who will be making his turf debut at a quote of 10/3* (betting odds recorded 22:18 GMT on July 16th 2021 at William Hill).

He has been storming along on the all-weather this season and picked up a good third place at the Chipchase at Newcastle on his latest. That continued excellent form from him, so he gets the nod.

The final selection for the shortlist is TABDEED. He won last year’s renewal of this race and makes for an interesting player back here.

There was plenty of encouragement from his fourth-place taken on his reappearance in the Chipchase at Newcastle three weeks ago. That was after a long 10-month break and could have more to offer.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

GOLDEN PASS is the favourite for this contest and understandably so. She arrived in good form after opening the season with a win at Thirsk.

But there was an even better run from her up at Listed level at Pontefract on her follow up in which she claimed second. There’s no reason why she shouldn’t be back in the thick of this.

We have a slight preference for FREE WIND as our horse racing tip at 11/4* (betting odds recorded 22:18 GMT on July 16th 2021 at William Hill).

She is a highly progressive filly and is fully justifying her big price tag. It has been back to back wins for her this season, breaking her maiden and following up in a minor effort.

But by the look of her, she fully deserves a chance at this level and could deliver for the Gosdens.

The other selection for the shorts is going to be ORIENTAL MYSTIQUE. She’s a good one but has been stuck on three third-place finishes this season. She is eased in grade and the extra bit of distance is likely to help.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

ZEEBAND certainly arrives with some strong claims after picking up the win the Northumberland Vase three weeks ago.

He has just continued in excellent form for Roger Varian and could have more to come. He was fine in staying handicaps last summer and he got the visor on for the first time.

The one slight question mark is the distance here and given that he has been handed an 8lb rise, he is going to have to find further progress.

Rating as the main threat to the favourite is RODIRIGO DIAZ who is also in good form. This is a new trip for him and it will be interesting to see what he has got. He is still progressing and won at Doncaster in June.

The other for the shortlist is MILDEBERGER who didn’t get it together at Sandown on his latest run.

But he won at Wolverhampton earlier this season and went well in the Northumberland Plate as well. If there’s a bounce back in him, he could get in the frame.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This is quite a tricky affair as it’s a strong-looking lineup here. We are pulling towards the 9/1 shot FELIX* (betting odds recorded 22:18 GMT on July 16th 2021 at William Hill).

He was last seen taking on the Wolferton at Royal Ascot in which he finished sixth. There was a feeling that the ground was too quick for him, so he wasn’t seen to best effort.

Felix has won this season and produced a stunning effort to take third place in a Group 1 Dubai Turf at Meydan on his penultimate run.

That’s what he is capable of and he finds that form, then Felix should get close.

REAL WORLD is another who rates as a good threat in this contest. He moves up in grade but looks as if he has a lot in him to handle this.

He won the Royal Hunt Cup in June and put in a superb finish there to take it.

DERAB can’t be overlooked either after opening his account with a win here on his penultimate fixture. He went to the French Derby after that and put in a credible enough effort.

Derab wasn’t in the frame and will need to find some further progress, but he has potential.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

It’s a big field and our selection is going to be HANG IN THERE at 8/1 as a horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 22:18 GMT on July 16th 2021 at William Hill).

He made his reappearance just six days ago and knocked off four rivals in that one to get the score. Hang In There made all in the contest and it was impressive and very encouraging from him.

Hang In There will be under a 7lb penalty, but given that he has a 10lb claimer, he’s actually 3lb better off. So he has a big chance.

Rating a danger is CAMPROND because he comfortably delivered the odds at course and distance last time out.

He has been in strong handicap fixtures before this season, having placed well so has a chance.

We round off with a look at the form of Nicky Henderson’s HOOPER. He completed a five-timer on his latest run, delivering at Stratford.

It’s been superbly impressive, progressive stuff from him and there’s a hint that he is still on the upward curve.
