A couple of the highlights of the day are the Ascot Betfair Chase while the Rendlesham Hurdle from Haydock presents a fascinating card.

For the Rendlesham hurdle we have joint 7/2 favourites in ITCHY FEET and ON THE BLIND SIDE* (betting odds recorded 23:34 GMT on Friday, 19th February 2021 at William Hill).

ITCHY FEET has been in the places in all three runs this season, and he makes the switch back from the fences to the hurdles on Saturday.

He is looking to prove a big point of stamina in this contest as well at the 3m trip.

Itchy Feet was second in an Ascot Chase a couple of months ago in December last year.

Itchy Feet is a proven hurdler and has shown a lot of promising in chasing as well. But this is no easy ask for him.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ON THE BLIND SIDE goes as our selection at 7/2* (betting odds recorded 23:34 GMT on Friday, 19th February 2021 at William Hill).

He is just bang in form at the moment with two wins in his last four efforts. The most recent of those was at Market Rasen 35 days ago.

On current form and proven stamina with a 3m win at Cheltenham on his reappearance this season, On The Blind Side gets the nod.

LISNAGAR OSCAR we think is the other one to really consider for the shortlist.

He has been a bit below his best this season from two efforts, but he is returning for the first time now since wind surgery.

That could help rediscover the kind of form he was in last season when he won the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham. Lisnagar Oscar is a former course and distance winner.

JERRYSBACK is the current market leader effort this chase action at Ascot at 7/2* (betting odds recorded 23:34 GMT on Friday, 19th February 2021 at William Hill).

He claimed a third-place finish last month on his first run of the season. That was behind Dashel Drascher who goes in Saturday’s Ascot Betfair Chase.

That was a very good effort from Jerrysback in a strong field to get third place.

It was a run full of promise and it was his first effort in 399 days. He should be that much sharper for it.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

COBOLOBO went close at course and distance last month and is only 2lb up in the ratings from that effort.

He is prone to the odd error but that C&D effort came straight after a handicap chase score at Exeter and he warrants respect at 17/2* (betting odds recorded 23:34 GMT on Friday, 19th February 2021 at William Hill).

REGAL ENCORE is the other one for the shortlist in our opinion.

He opened the season with a victory and in this season’s renewal of the Silver Cup, he claimed a third-place finish.

That was his most recent run a couple of months ago. Regal Encore showed good jumping form in that one and is always a strong player at Ascot.

This is a big, big test of stamina at Haydock on what is the Grand National Trial Handicap Chase.

SOJOURN is the current 7/2 market leader for the contest* (betting odds recorded 23:34 GMT on Friday, 19th February 2021 at William Hill).

He opened the season with an easy win at Carlisle which was so facile that it was nothing more than an exercise in blowing away some cobwebs.

Sojourn then showed a lot of patience on his most recent run which was at 3m 2f in December last year here at Haydock.

He was beaten by fourth lengths but the low mileage eight-year-old could take some beating here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

THE TWO AMIGOS claimed second place at the Welsh National on his last effort in January.

That puts him on the radar for success on Saturday as well.

It was a performance out of the top-drawer in that one without question and if he’s bringing that form to the table, he has a big, big chance despite creeping up the ratings.

The Two Amigos is our pick at 13/2* (betting odds recorded 23:34 GMT on Friday, 19th February 2021 at William Hill).

NOTACHANCE should have a big chance in this one as he is arriving with the chance of completing a hattrick.

He’s been right on his game for Alan King this season.

The most recent of his victories was at Warwick’s Classic Chase in January. He’s up 7lb from that but should feature strongly.

In last year’s edition of the Betfair Ascot Chase, Cyrname didn’t go well at all, letting down supporters. That was a story again on his recent run in December’s King George.

He has won three of four course and distance efforts though and did open the season with a victory in the Charlie Hall.

In an attempt to sharpen him up again, Cyrname gets the cheekpieces on.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

MASTER TOMMYTUCKER gets the nod from us in this contest however at 3/1* (betting odds recorded 23:34 GMT on Friday, 19th February 2021 at William Hill).

He is bringing hot form to the table with three wins in his last four. On his latest run, he dominated to score a Grade 2 victory at Kempton.

On current form, he is the one to beat.

From this small field, the other that would pull in some appeal is DASHEL DRASHER who is sitting on a hat-trick chance.

He scored over Bennys King on his latest effort which was in a course and distance handicap just last month.

Dashel Drasher is one that will need further progress here but isn’t without a chance.

The race favourite for this Kingwell Hurdle is SONG FOR SOMEONE at 5/4* (betting odds recorded 23:34 GMT on Friday, 19th February 2021 at William Hill).

He completed the hat-trick with a score at the International Hurdle at Cheltenham 70 days ago. That was a strange race that just fell apart.

But Song For Someone got the job done and followed up at Grade 2 success at Ascot on his season opener. He’s looking like a very smart hurdler.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

GOSHEN looks like being one of the front runners for the contest as well.

He had a very good 2020 which should have been rounded off with a Triumph Hurdle success but he lost his rider at the last with the race win beginning.

He’s had a couple of flat efforts before having physical problems at Cheltenham which saw him fail. He receives 6lb from Song For Someone, however.

NAVAJO PASS is another that needs to find its way onto the shortlist too.

He is in with a chance of scoring a three-timer after making it all in a Grade 2 run at Haydock a month ago.

Navajo Pass has really taken strong strides forward this winter and is hard to pass up at 5/1* (betting odds recorded 23:34 GMT on Friday, 19th February 2021 at William Hill).

The 9/4 market leader for the Albert Bartlett Prestige Novices’ Hurdle at Haydock is MINT CONDITION* (betting odds recorded 23:34 GMT on Friday, 19th February 2021 at William Hill).

It has been a fine winter from him as Mint Condition has just gotten better and better this season.

It has been three wins from five runs this season, only narrowly missing a win at Warwick Grade 2 on his latest run.

Mint Condition comes up on a trip here as he looks to put another win on the board. So he should have even more to come and looks to be the one that sets the standard here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ALAPHILIPPE should feature strongly as well.

He has claimed three wins this season and is now seen trying out this distance for the first time under rules.

It’s been a very strong season, but even though he lost for the first time under rules in a Taunton novice last time out, he could feature.

Alaphillipe does need to prove stamina.

BEATTHEBULLET is heading in the right direction as well this winter and he gets the cheekpieces on.

The dual point winner claimed a win at Hereford in November on his latest effort.

He gets a bump up in class now but he does not look finished progressing at all and brings some reasonable place claims to the table.
