Race Favourite

COILTE EILE is the current 10/3 favourite for this fixture* (betting odds taken from Coral at 23:05 GMT on Friday, 20th November 2020).

She has had a couple of runs this season and she will be with a new yard now as she seeks a return to form.

She won this fixture 12 months ago. It will be interesting to watch how this plays out for her here.

It’s all going to depend on whether or not the change of yard (now with Fergal O’Brien) has done her the power of good.

As a positive she is 5lb lighter than she was for last year’s win.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

We think that the favourite can be taken on in horse racing betting.

We are looking at ROBIN GOLD from 7/2 for that* (betting odds taken from Coral at 23:05 GMT on Friday, 20th November 2020).

That is because, unlike the favourite, she has current strong form.

She missed out on a hattrick last time out. But still she ran very well to claim a third place finish at Lingfield having been reeled in late in the contest.

As for the ratings, she is only dealing with an extra 1lb from that. With wins at Lingfield and Perth in her last three runs, Robin Gold looks a good option.

The other selection for the trip is SAME CIRCUS. She was at Aintree a month ago for her reappearance.

She took a superb second place finish in that contest, beaten only by the impressive Dell’ Arca on the day.

With the latter having won against since, Same Circus, who is on the same mark has to enter the calculations here.

Heading up this small field is IMPERIAL AURA at 13/8* (betting odds taken from Coral at 23:05 GMT on Friday, 20th November 2020).

It’s hard to ignore his claims having produced a win at Carlisle on his return to action earlier this month.

That was a win by two and a half lengths. That just saw Imperial Aura pick up where he left off for the last campaign.

It was a tremendous novice campaign from him, which culminated in a victory at the Novices’ Handicap Chase at Cheltenham. He will be the one to beat in this fixture.

So do we think there is horse racing betting value elsewhere? We do and that has to be the 15/8 quote on REAL STEEL* (betting odds taken from Coral at 23:05 GMT on Friday, 20th November 2020).

He comes from a stable which has won this race for the last two years and Real Steel himself, impressed on a Cheltenham Gold Cup run this year.

He was sixth in the big one at the Festival, although the trip caught up with him in the end a bit.

But that was still an enormously credible run from him. He will be making his debut for Paul Nicholls and looks as if he is going to get very close.

ITCHY FEET took a third place finish on his reappearance run. That was at the Old Roan at Aintree last month on a similar sort of trip.

He was third in that one (group 2). So both he and BLACK CORTON, who was fourth on his reappearance have had useful recent trips.

There is an exciting big field that we are looking at next for horse racing betting.

THE JAM MAN is the current 4/1 favourite for the win* (betting odds taken from Coral at 23:05 GMT on Friday, 20th November 2020).

On his second run of this campaign over the jumps, The Jam Man collected a win.

He was absolutely thriving when he scored at Navan in the Troytown chase. For his return to the smaller stuff, The Jam Man is going off a career-high mark.

But given that recent run, he looks to have some tremendous claims for Saturday’s action.

He has also delivered a win on the flat at York this season. Back in February he did claim a second place finish at Leopardstown at this distance.

MAIN FACT brings some nice claims to this hurdle action as well. His form is just impressive. He has won his last five National Hunt fixtures.

Throw in three wins on the flat in that sequence as well, and he is thriving as well currently.

This will be his reappearance run and it will be the first time that he takes on the 3m distance.

Bringing up our selections is IMPERIAL ALCAZAR who is likely to strongly enter calculations in this fixture.

He was in top form for Fergal O’Brien last season over the hurdles. He looks as if he is going to steam on well on a 3m trip as well.

Imperial Alcazar hasn’t been seen since scoring at Leicester in January, but has some leading claims for a bold run.

Not too much to break down in his one. LAURINA is going as the favourite and she will be making her debut for Paul Nicholls.

She will also be coming back for the first time since a wind operation.

She did have some health issues last season but is in new hands here. She also receives a lot of weight against the other two in the field. In such a small field that may well count for a lot.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

CALL ME LORD looks the best option for the other two. He is the only one of the three to have already had a run this season.

That was a fourth place finish just two weeks ago at Aintree for the Nicky Henderson gelding.

On the back of that, as well as having scored the International at Cheltenham last December, there are strong claims.

SONG FOR SOMEONE ended last season on a high, scoring a Grade 2 in at Wincanton.

That was after having taken a superb second finish over course and distance. He was coming along as a very good hurdler last season.

Another small field, but what a field it is. LOSTINTRANSLATION is the 11/8 favourite* (betting odds taken from Coral at 23:05 GMT on Friday, 20th November 2020).

He won this fixture 12 months ago and he looks to be the one to beat.

He was in top shape here last season to score the win. His jumping was impeccable as he knocked off stiff opposition.

Lostintranslation followed it up with a superb third place finish at the Cheltenham Gold Cup as well.

That place finish at the Gold Cup was his first run since wind surgery.

That should project him forward well enough to produce a follow up success.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

CLAN DES OBEAUX is the big threat to the favourite in this field. While Lostintranslation impressed at the Gold Cup, Clan Des Obeaux was a flop.

He was well down the field in a run that just didn’t go his way. But he’s a lot better than that.

Clan Des Obeaux is a dual King George winner and connections will expect a bold return. He has had wind surgery during his break.

The other selection would have to be BRISTOL DE MAI because of a strong course and distance history.

He has won this fixture twice before, but has failed to get a score anywhere in the last two years.

That’s a negative against him, but he generally thieves here. This will be his reappearance run for the new season.

We have MAGIC SAINT as the 10/3 market leader in this contest* (betting odds taken from Coral at 23:05 GMT on Friday, 20th November 2020).

He hit top form on his last run for Paul Nicholls. He picked up a win at Cheltenham just eight days ago.

That was a comfortable and confident win as well in chase action.

On a score last season he knocked off a former Grade 2 winner and therefore he should bring some solid claims to the table.

Magic Saint is now rated 7lb higher which could be a slight issue.

FIRST FLOW is worth a look in the race. He rapidly fired off a hat trick last season to end the campaign in style.

They were arguably much easier contests than the one he faces on the weekend. This will be his first run for eight months.

If he’s sharp then he will be one to follow.

Last year’s winner CAPELAND is back in the mix. He was a faller on his reappearance in a chase that was won by Amul Gold last month.

That was here at Ascot. He will get the cheek pieces on for the first time now. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him go well.
