Today’s horse racing tips from Saturday will be taking a look at some of the top action from Ascot.

That includes the Clarence House Chase, which is the big highlight of the day.

LANDINABO LAD is the current 6/4 market leader for this novices hurdle* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on Friday, 22nd January 2021 at William Hill).

It has been a fine season from him so far, winning his first two efforts of the campaign. The second of those was a course and distance listed event.

Landinabo Lad just missed out the hattrick when he took a superb second place in a Grade 2 fixture at Ascot on his last run. There is a 5lb penalty for him to try and defy, but he looks in fantastic heart at the moment.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

MINELLA DRAMA also arrives in great shape. After a loss to Llandinabo earlier this season, he has since gone on to land back to back successes.

That duel with Lalandinao Lad happened on his reappearance and he was well beaten by his opponent. Place claims are certainly there.

FAIVOR is the other option in this race. He will need to find more than the best of his form this season. Faivor has won two of his last three trips and will look for the double after scoring in a novice event at Ludlow just over a month ago.

His jumping has not been perfect and that may keep him on the outside.

LIGHTLY SQUEEZE is the current 11/2 favourite for this trip* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on Friday, 22nd January 2021 at William Hill).

There was a third place finish for him last time out. That was here at Ascot in a valuable handicap, so the promise is there. That was also the first time since wind surgery and the first time with a tongue strap.

So it may be coming together for Harry Fry’s gelding at the moment. There are solid claims from him, but this looks to be a wide-open fixture.

PADDY’S MOTORBIKE is on the up at the moment having scored his last two. This is a tougher fixture for him after wins in a Uttoxeter maiden and Huntingdon novice.

But he seems to be going in the right direction over the hurdles at the moment and looks as if he poses a threat.

Our selection is going to be DANNY KIRWAN at 13/2 however* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on Friday, 22nd January 2021 at William Hill).

He is coming back down in a trip which will play to his strengths. That was after a big 3m effort in a Cheltenham Grade 2 last time out, which proved too far. This is handicap debut and could flourish.

It has been two wins in three runs for him this season. The most recent of those was at Catterick three weeks ago.

De Forgotten One takes a big jump in the weights here as he has been raised 10lb. But despite that, he is not without a chance here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

CHOBOLOBO put in an impressive score at Exeter on his last run. He just made it all to get the score there at this distance.

So that should put him in the frame, despite having to deal with an 8lb bump in the weights. If he gets to the front and sets the pace, Cobolobo may threaten.

The other for the shortlist is going to be YALLTARI who showed a good return to form last time out.

That was a fourth palace finish from a field of 11 at Chepstow on a 3m trip. He comes from yard that is in form and Yalltari is sitting on a very competitive market right now.

ROYALE PAGAILLE looks to be the one to beat in the Peter Marsh Handicap Chase. He is the current 9/4 market leader* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on Friday, 22nd January 2021 at William Hill).

It has been superb form from him having scored back to back wins for this campaign. He has won at Haydock this season. But his latest run was at Kempton on a 3m trip in December.

Royale Pagaille was brilliant in that one on what was his handicap debut. He was well ahead of the assessor for that race and is now slapped with a 16lb rise. He’s good enough to defy that.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

SAM BROWN looks a big threat to the favourite. He is on a good opening mark as he steps into handicapping.

Sam Brown also got the tongue tie for the first time. He returned impressively with third place in a listed run at Carlisle. There’s plenty to build on for the low-mileage chaser.

The other that could have something is SAM’S ADVENTURE who scored over course and distance on his last run.

That was the best effort of the season and it was his first score since a superb 3m handicap chase effort at Uttoxeter on his final run of the previous campaign.

Good Boy Bobby opened this season with a win as he looks to be coming on well over the fences. His last run was at the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup at Cheltenham six weeks ago when he took fourth but never threatened more.

Benny’s King picked up a win for trainer David Skelton on his last run. He is generally a very good performer at Ascot and he resumed winning ways at the track on his last run. That was five weeks ago and takes on a 7lb rise. But he has to enter calculations and just takes preference.

WINDSOR AVENUE pulled up on his penultimate race which was in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup when he had been behind Good Boy Bobby at the time.

But he came back with aplomb to take a third place finish in the Rowland Meyrick.

The other selection will be DASHEL DRASHER in the fixture. He produced a win over course and distance on his last run. That was a 3-runner event and now he comes into handicapping on the back of that. He may be worth respeccing in the market.

The market leader in this three-runner field is BUVEUR D’AIR at 8/13* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on Friday, 22nd January 2021 at William Hill).

He looks to be the one to beat on what will be his reappearance run. The last outing was in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle back in November 2019.

So it is a long absence that he looks to shrug off but trainer Nicky Henderson will likely have him sharp enough to handle this small field.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

BALLYANDY has been ticking along in nice consent form. He was last seen in the Christmas Hurdle when he claimed a third place finish. That’s four runs and four place finishes that he has taken for this campaign. Ballyandy won this fixture a year ago and is unlikely to be far away.

NAVAJO PASS claimed a win on his last run. That was an impressive score actually at Musselburgh that he took. But this is a huge jump up in terms of quality and it’s hard to see him really getting in the frame.

This is the big one of the day, the Clarence House Chase. POLITOLOGUE is the one to beat in this contest at 6/4* (betting odds recorded 22:10 GMT on Friday, 22nd January 2021 at William Hill).

He has been in tremendous form already this season having made his appearance in the Tingle Creek at Sandown in December.

There was a dominant victory there for Politologue to claim the Tingle Creek for the second time in his career.

That was just a mighty powerhouse of a run and if he’s in the same mood, then he is going to be tough to stop.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

WAITING PATIENTLY is coming along very well at the moment. He has to warrant some respect after a superb second to Frodon in the King George last month.

The notable thing there was that he was finishing really fast.

The 2m trip probably isn’t going to be his best, but the speed that he showed puts Waiting Patiently first in this.

DEFI DU SEUIL is the other big name in the contest. But he has not been at his best for a while. He was unimpressive on his reappearance run when he failed to complete the Shloer Chase at Chetmelan in November.

Defi Du Seuil won this last year, but after failing so badly at the Champion Chase in March last year to Politologue, he may not be ready to turn the tables on the latter selection.
