Today’s Horse Racing Tips & Odds – Saturday, 23rd October 2021

Today’s horse racing tips include some of the big action from Doncaster on Saturday, including the Futurity Trophy and Doncaster Stakes.

The Futurity is the final Group 1 fixture of the season so that’s one to keep an eye on. As well as some Doncaster picks for today’s horse racing we visit Newbury.

There are a couple of Group 3 fixtures from there as further highlights from a strong day of racing.

Race Preview

The Futurity is a 1m trip on the straight at Doncaster. LUXEMBOURG is coming in hot after claiming a Group 2 success at the Curragh last month.

That’s two wins from two from the exciting prospect.

But although he is in a commanding position in horse racing betting, he could be taken on. His success in the Beresford last time saw him comfortably beat a weak field. This challenge could be tougher.

ROYAL PATRONAGE definitely rates as a danger. He has impressed recently, putting all the pieces together to score a hattrick.

Included in there were successes in the Acomb and the Royal Lodge.

The other big player in the Futurity should be BAYSIDE BOY who has won two of his four appearances.

One of those victories was delivered here at Doncaster when he landed the Champagne Stakes at the St Leger meeting. Bayside Boy has every chance of getting in the picture as well.

FLAMING RIB is the big player in this contest as he looks in special form at the moment. It’s well above the rest.

Flaming Rib completed a hattrick on his latest run. That was in a nursery at Chester four weeks ago.

He thrived from the front to dominate the contest and everything really looks to be in place for him to go and secure another win.

DEODAR perhaps rates as the biggest threat to the favourite in the Doncaster Stakes.

Deodar took a good opening win on his debut. He had something to spare in that victory at Newbury and looked very good once he settled.

MOHI has been improving lately as well. He is sitting on a hattrick chance after back to back successes at Wolverhampton.

The latest of those saw him defy a 5lb rise and there’s potential for more from Mohi.

The low mileage AADDEEY should rate as a danger for this one in horse racing betting.

He was fourth at Goodwood on his latest. That was in July and it was after a very poor start in the race.

Aaddeey comes down on a trip as it is a distance he has won before at and looks to be on a handy mark. The tongue tie goes on for the first time.

RHYTHMIC INTENT should be of interest as well as he looks to complete back to back wins at Doncaster.

He was last seen taking the Mallard here in September and he takes on the challenge of a career-high mark because of it.

APPARATE will be the final shortlist selection. He was fourth over this distance in May at Newmarket. There looked to be more to come from him and boast a decent enough record when fresh.

There is a big open field in this contest. We’ll start with JUMBLY who opened her career with back to back wins.

She was still in form when taking a very credible fourth at the Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket a month ago. Jumbly comes down in grade and could take some beating.

MISS CAROL ANN shaped with a lot of promise on her debut.

That was at Newmarket last month and when she kicked in, she was very comfortable in taking the win. There should be more to come and Miss Carol Ann looks to have a good temperament.

SIAMSA got off the mark at the third time of asking. That was on her latest at Newmarket last month.

She will have to find even more to get this one, but there may yet be more to come. Siamsa is not without a chance in this one.

SISKANY has won three of his last five runs and should be heavily involved in this Group 3 contest. He still looks to be on an upward curve.

Siskany returned from a gelding op to score in a Newmarket handicap just two weeks ago. He looks like he has potential for a lot more as well.

MAX VEGA is worth a look as he comes back to a more favourable distance.

He was last seen taking third behind Nayef Road at Newmarket a month ago in a listed contest. Max Vega is in decent shape as he looks for his first win since 2019.

As a previous course winner EXTRA ELUSIVE may have some appeal for the shortlist. He hasn’t quite been at his best in his latest form. It may simply be a return to Newbury that revives that current form.

Bringing the advantage of experience at the table in this contest is NOBLE TRUTH who has won two of five previous appearances.

There was a big eye-catching run from him last time out as he was second in a strong Group 1 contest in France. Noble Truth is the one to beat in this contest.

AMERICAN STAR has a course and distance win to his name so that should get him in the picture for the shortlist.

An unsettled start in the stalls at Newmarket two weeks ago saw him finish well down the field. It’s too early to write him off.

DUBAI POET probably has something to offer in this one. He scored in a novice over course and distance and was in great form two weeks ago in the Autumn Stakes at Newmarket. Dubai Poet is no forlorn hope.
