There was a third-place finish for him on his reappearance run, a handicap effort at Wolverhampton last month at 6f.

Zaryni will pique interest as he is on a career-low mark in handicapping now. He certainly looks like one of the dangers in the field.

But JUSTANOTHERBOTTLE gets the nod from us as a horse racing tip at 11/2* (betting odds recorded 20:58 GMT on April 2nd, 2021 2021 at Bet365).

He scored a win at Catterick on his final run of last season, with Count D’Orsay behind him.

Justanoterbottle opened this season with a trip on the all-weather last month and that could have sharpened him up well.

JABBAROCKIE looks like the other obvious selection in the field. He makes his appearance run here. He showed plenty of promise last season, including getting a score at Newmarket in June.

Jaberrockie is down 1lb from that last winning mark and is very interesting and refreshed.

The current 6/1 favourite for this Haydock trip is SMALL PRESENT* (betting odds recorded 20:58 GMT on April 2nd, 2021 2021 at Bet365).

He is seeking a hattrick after coming into some very good form and showing plenty of progress in staying. The first of his wins was at Catterick and the follow up at Doncaster a month ago.

Small Present stayed on well in that contest and looks to be in good heart at the moment. The handicapper may not have caught up with him.

COLONIAL DREAMS was third at Newbury last month behind Ruth and Iwilldoit.

But there’s a chance for him to respond to that, as Nicky Henderson’s charge had fought from much further back than the other two rivals in that.

Colonial Dreams stays at the same mark and should be a big player in this one.

We would expect IWILLDOIT to be back in the frame again after that recent battle with Colonial Dreams and Regarding Ruth, splitting the pair in second place. That was a month ago and it was easily his best effort in this sphere.

He was second on his latest effort, a month ago in an Ayr handicap. He hasn’t quite hit top form for a while, but that was a notably better run that Dali Mail produced last time out.

So there could be claims coming in for him, but this doesn’t look like an easy field that he is taking on.

EAMON AN CNOIC looks like a bigger threat as he is coming back down on the trip. He is also 5lb down from his run at the Cheltenham Festival.

He finished in the middle of the pack in the Paddy Power Plate in that effort. Before that the hurdles form was good and this is a much easier task ahead of him.

He’s been away since last summer when he took a Bangor success on his debut for his yard. Licklighter then followed up with a runner up place at Cartmel. A big run is due.

He has been going from strength to strength this season and looked better than ever when winning at Wolverhampton 47 days ago.

The manner of that victory hints that there could be more to come from him in this sphere, finally after belatedly getting off the mark.

He was the runner up at Newmarket in the Cesarewitch Trial on his final run of last season. It was a really eye-catching run that he put together in that one.

Mark Johnson’s gelding stays at the same market and during his winter break, he has been gelded as well. Themaxwecan looks full of promise and potential here.

CARDANO is going to be the other selection for the shortlist. That is because he has been carrying some excellent form recently on the all-weather.

He took back to back wins on the AW and Hollie Doyle is booked for his return to this level of competition.

There was a victory for her on her penultimate run, taking full advantage of a reduced mark at Leicester in February.

Her follow up was back at the same venue when she wasn’t disgraced with a runner up spot.

There’s plenty to like about her and the Bay Birch won this race a couple of years ago.

She has been going brilliantly for most of the season and has course and distance form over the hurdles. Since October it has been five wins in six runs. She has to be right there.

NORTHERN BEAU is the other for the shortlist. Sheehan has been in the frame each of her last three runs.

Last time out she was at Southwell and was runner up in a field of four on the back of a drop in grade.

The waters look just a little bit choppier for her in this contest though in terms of backing for the win.

It has been two wins from two for Stormy Nelson this season, so the hattrick should be well within his scope on Saturday.

Storm Nelson opened the campaign with a success at Ayr and then treated an 11lb rise like nothing to score over course and distance a week ago. He’s a big player and should be close to that hattrick.

BALI BODY could have a say in this one because he has room for increment as he moves over to handicapping.

He scored at Hereford last time out after being moved up to a 3m distance. There should be even more to come from him.

The other for the shortlist will be GALUPPI who put in a commanding score at Hexham recently. There has been a 7lb rise in the ratings for him on the back of that.

It was such a convincing score taken 16 days ago, then he could get close if he puts his best foot forward again.
