Today’s horse racing tips have some cracking fixtures around including the Grade 2 Premier Novices’ Hurdle from Kelso.

Other highlights of Saturday’s day of racing includes the Premier Chase (Listed) from Kelso as well, and the Grade 3 Greatwood Cup Handicap Chase at Newbury.

The day’s racing action comes from Doncaster, Kelso, Lingfield and Newbury.

MY DROGO is the 6/4 market leader for this fascinating Grade 2 race at Kelso on Saturday* (betting odds recorded 04:40 GMT on 5th March, 2021 at William Hill).

He does look like the one to beat, even in a field where there are plenty of other strong claims. It has been back to back wins for My Drogo in his current form.

He opened his hurdles account on his debut at Newbury before then taking the Grade 2 Kennel Gate at Ascot.

My Drogo looks super smart and he had the subsequent Betfair Hurdle winner Soaring Glory behind in that latest victory at Ascot.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

BAREBACK JACK should pose an enormous threat and give My Drogo plenty to think about in the contest. It has been four wins from four from him.

He secured the hat-trick for the season with a 2m win at Musselburgh, making it three from three over the hurdles.

Bareback Jack is a big threat in the sphere and should be in the frame.

Our other selection is going to be CASTLE RUSHEN as an 11/1 e/w punt* (betting odds recorded 04:40 GMT on 5th March, 2021 at William Hill).

He opened the season with back to back wins over the timbers.

He was only knocked over by a fellow strong runner at Carlisle 18 days ago. Castle Rushen could improve further.

He did bank a win on his reappearance run, scoring at Chepstow in a Listed fixture there.

His follow up wasn’t great though, struggling a bit to get to the places at Wincanton.

But it’s a fourth-month break that he has had to freshen up.

He’s also trained by Paul Nicholls who has enjoyed plenty of success in this fixture.

UMBRIGADO is our selection for the race at 11/2 however* (betting odds recorded 04:40 GMT on 5th March, 2021 at William Hill).

He is looking to hunt down a hat-trick after really coming into his own over the fences this season.

He opened with a win at Fontwell before landing a Wetherby 2m handicap 17 days ago.

There’s a 5lb rise, but Umbrigado is a player.

Our final selection for the shortlist is SENIOR CITIZEN. He has been looking in decent form this season and won 2 of his first 4 efforts over the fences.

In November he scored a superb second place in a Huntington contest.

Senior Citizen was badly hampered by really tough conditions at Aintree to follow up, but that can be excused.

He looks a very promising sort and delivered a win in a maiden at Doncaster on his debut in October.

This is a tougher race, but has a chance.

MEGALLAN just gets the nod for us however at the 5/2 quote* (betting odds recorded 04:40 GMT on 5th March, 2021 at William Hill).

He was fourth in the Autumn Stakes in October, but wasn’t allowed a clear run in that, before the ground was an issue at Doncaster.

Returning as a three-year-old, there’s plenty of potential on side.

Another one for consideration on the shortlist is the more experienced THANK YOU NEXT. She has been in the weather once before and she won that fixture.

She is well rested having been away since October she claimed second in a Newmarket Stakes effort.

Heading up this field is ASO at 5/2* (betting odds recorded 04:40 GMT on 5th March, 2021 at William Hill).

He was second on his latest run, which was a Warwick handicap and he gets the cheekpieces on.

There is still potential there for the two-time place-finisher in the Ryanair.

That recent effort saw him get back to form somewhat, but still looks as if he still needs to find a little bit more. But the weights are in Aso’s favour here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

TWO FOR GOLD had the beating of ASO at Warwick recently as he simply made all to land that handicap.

The problem here is that is now 9lb worse off against that rival.

So there is going to be a need for more from Two For Gold in an intriguing rematch. Two For Gold is a former course and distance winner.

LAKE VIEW LAD needs a little bounce back here. He struck a win in an Aintree Grade 2 in December on his reappearance run.

He couldn’t stay in the contest in the Cotswold Chase at Sandown in his one effort since then. But he is on a good mark and should be competitive.

There was a success for Runswick Bay on his penultimate run, scoring at Taunton on his debut over the hurdles in November.

He stepped into handicapping for the first time following that and didn’t complete at Kempton.

It’s been a good season of progress from him and he can’t be overlooked.

GASTARA piques some interest here after a very good third place finish at Sandown on his latest.

That was just a couple of weeks ago and he got in the frame at least having been asked to do a lot.

Gastara returns off the same market and has a chance with the hood back on.

Our horse racing betting tip for this race is going to be JAVA POINT who landed a runners-up spot at Uttoxeter in November.

He has plenty more in the tank as well by the looks of it and that was his best effort so far over the hurdles.

THE SHUNTER looks like a strong 9/4 favourite for this hurdle effort at Kelso* (betting odds recorded 04:40 GMT on 5th March, 2021 at William Hill).

He has won three of his last five races and has really come on well since joining his new yard.

Back in December he claimed a victory in a strong Cheltenham handicap hurdle.

Since then he went very well in a strong race at Leopardstown in a chase and there looks as if he has just enough in him to handle a 7lb rise.

Another who is carrying some excellent form at the moment is FAIVOIR who has won all but one of his last four efforts.

That can’t be ignored as he is sitting on a hattrick at the moment.

The most recent of those wins was a Grade 2 novice at Haydock. He still needs more back in a handicap.

TOMMY’S OSCAR also looks as if he could have a say in proceedings.

He secured a hattrick recently and rattled the crossbar in an attempt at a four-timer.

His latest run saw him earn second place at Musselburgh, the scene of his latest win over the hurdles. There are claims.

This is a good horse highlight by a superb fourth place finish in a supremely strong Sky Bet here a month ago.

He has already collected a good novice win at Aintree this season as well as the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby. Canelo sets the standard in this one.

CHIDSWELL is another of the main players here as the ground looks to be in his favour.

Chidswell won the 2019 edition of the Grimthorpe as well and while he hasn’t produced too much of note this season, there’s a chance that he has been targeting this.

This isn’t a very deep field, so we will turn to SPECIAL PREP as our final selection for the shortlist.

He is a former course and distance winner. This is his first go in this sphere since April last year, but Special Prep has been knocking around in bumpers on the all weather, so offers plenty of intrigue.
