Naturally, a lot of Saturday’s horse racing betting focus is going to be on the Grand National.

Our full Grand National Tips 2022 can be found here.

Today’s horse racing tips are from Aintree, Newcastle and Thirsk for Saturday, skipping over the National.

There’s a lot of other good stuff happening on Saturday and here are the top six options outside of the National.

All times listed are GMT.

FLOORING PORTER should be a strong one in Saturday’s Liverpool Hurdle if he runs to form.

He has such a good jumping game and goes to Aintree after winning the Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Flooring Porter delivered an exemplary round of jumping to win that for the second time.

He had Champ and Thyme Hill behind him in that one.

Flooring Porter looks like being the one to beat.

CHAMP should get into this after finishing fourth in the Stayers’ at the Cheltenham Festival.

He kicked this season off with a victory in the Long Walk ahead of Thyme Hill.

He had that rival ahead of him at the Stayers’ recently.

THYME HILL makes up the big three in this race as he takes on those rivals from the Stayers’ once again.

He was second to Flooring Porter at the Cheltenham Festival and never looked like getting the better of him.

Thyme Hill will be defending his Liverpool Hurdle crown on Saturday and will probably give another excellent account of himself.

Tip: FLOORING PORTER 13/8

Ones to watch: Champ 4/1, Thyme Hill 5/2

SHAN BLUE makes for an interesting entry in this big handicap chase at Aintree on Saturday.

The former Grade 1 winner has proven form and would likely have gone close on his season opener.

That was the Charlie Hall in October, but Shan Blue fell three from home.

Wasn’t a threat in the Ryanair at the Cheltenham Festival, but that can be overlooked on the switch back to handicapping from a good mark.

TEA CLIPPER opened the season with a win and there was a very encouraging run from him at the Cheltenham Festival.

On his first run since a wind op, Tea Clipper came home fourth in the Ultima 25 days ago.

He’s down 1lb from that effort on Saturday.

WISHING AND HOPING may be worth a look from a longer-priced perspective.

He landed a course and distance win in October.

He largely continued in good form following that before pulling up in the Plate at the Cheltenham Festival last month.

SCENE NOT HERD is another one to consider for the shortlist in this big field. There has been good form this season.

A very promising start over the genes were made by him as he completed a hattrick in December.

A good fourth at Sandown after a break a month ago was encouraging ahead of this.

Tip: SCENE NOT HERD 16/1

Ones to watch: Shan Blue 11/4, Tea Clipper 6/1

SEA THE SEA has been in tremendous form this season, compiling a hattrick on her penultimate run.

That was under this rider, so has a chance to make another good impression.

See The Sea is a bold front runner.

Anyone that gives her an easy lead is probably going to pay for it. See The Sea is refreshed and a major threat.

BRIEF TIMES kicked off the season with back to back wins over the hurdles, before going a close second on a handicap debut in December.

He was the favourite last time out at Kempton in a bigger field and failed to get himself going.

Brief Times is well worth revisiting though based on previous form.

BYZANTINE EMPIRE showed some good form at Musselburgh on his latest to take a third-place finish.

He’s a pretty consistent operator and his latest win came in December at Doncaster from 5lb lower.

He is down in class and should have a big shout.

Tip: SEE THE SEA 5/2

Ones to watch: Byzantine Empire 6/4, Brief Times 9/4

DALYOTIN was a winner on his latest run, which was at Sedgefield on the switch back to the fences.

That saw him get off the mark for his current yard.

In that win, Dalyotin had the beating of The King Of May who he faced again on Saturday.

Given his performance, a follow-up success for Dalyotin is not out of the question at all.

THE KING OF MAY has finished as a runner up the last twice, the latest behind Dailymotion.

The handicapper doesn’t give him any room to work with.

But that having been said, he’s in good nick and can get involved.

BUSTER VALENTINE was a winner on his latest run, which puts him in contention on Saturday.

It was a very commanding win that he landed at Wetherby for which he received an extra 3lb.

But Buster Valentine has won at Newcastle before over the hurdles and could threaten over the fences.

Tip: BUSTER VALENTINE 9/4

Ones to watch: Dalyotin 15/8, The King Of May 11/2

HIGH VELOCITY was third on a 6f trip on his latest run, which was at Wolverhampton.

Coming back to the minimum distance should give him a chance.

Despite fading, High Velocity looking progressive and completed a hattrick at Wolverhampton last month anyway.

KING OF JUNGLE was fourth at Wolverhampton his latest, luck not playing on his side much in that one.

But the handicapper looks to have given him a big chance on his debut here in a wide-open contest.

He’s not to be dismissed.

CATCH CUNNINGHAM is the final one for the shortlist and is interesting on his return from a 6-month break.

There were good pieces of form there and he could have something to offer now refreshed and stronger as a 3-year old.

Tip: HIGH VELOCITY 4/1

Ones to watch: King Of Jungle 4/1, Catch Cunningham 5/1

CONTACT should have enough about him to get himself involved, as he returns from a break of 7 months.

He did pick up a win last season and he opened the previous campaign with a score at Redcar so goes well fresh.

FORZA ORTA is unexposed at this distance but rates as a danger given last season’s form.

He’s been away from the action for six months.

Forza Orta is weighted very well and this is easier than some of the contests he found himself at the back end of the last term.

EMIYN is the final one on the shortlist after making some positive strides forward at the end of last season.

It was back to back wins for him at the end of last season, the last a handicap at Catterick.

If Emiyn is sharp for his return he could feature.

Tip: CONTRACT 9/2

Ones to watch: Emiyn 9/2, Forza Orta
