This looks like a very competitive race to kick things off with. One of the biggest players in it is likely to be BASS ROCK if he runs true to form.
He’s a very consistent one and Bass Rock put in a lot of good efforts last season, including a score at Ayr to close out the campaign.
Bass Rock then gained a win on his reappearance here in October in a dominant fashion.
That was followed up by a third at Haydock and he should be right there.
CAPTAIN ZEBO was fourth on his reappearance.
That was a big Grade 2 effort at Sandown earlier this year, and while that didn’t pan out, connections still think highly of him.
Not surprisingly as he completed a five-timer by winning this race twelve months ago.
Captain Zebo was back in form on his latest, taking a fourth behind Bass Rock.
TEESCOMPONENTS LAD is going to have some work cut out for him. He produced a fantastic run at Market Rasen three weeks ago.
He’s paid the price of a 6lb rise which looks a little tough. He is a former course winner.
SMALL PRESENT was behind Teescomponents Lad at Market Rasen, taking a third-place finish.
That was a notable step forward over the hurdles for him after a blowout in a chase.
Small Present had a fantastic spring of handicap hurdling and is no forlorn hope.

WELL ABOVE PAR claimed a course and distance win on his latest run. It’s been two wins in his last three runs actually, both at C&D.
So Well Above Par has some obvious claims here. With his yard in great form at the moment, he should be heavily involved.
But PAPA TANGO CHARLY looks like being a big threat as well. He is sitting on a hattrick chance after thriving on a move to the fences.
On his chase and handicap debut six weeks ago at Carlisle, he got off the mark over the fences at the first time of asking. Big claims are there.
WHOSHOTTHESHERIFF is another with the ability to get in the frame. Last season he pushed on well in novice chase company with a couple of wins.
He took a win at Wetherby on his return and while the latest effort didn’t pan out, it may just have been too soon after that Wetherby success.
Whoshotthesheriff has this in him.

TOMMIE BEAU is still on the up and it has been such a tremendous year for him. On his penultimate run, Tommie Beau completed a four-timer.
That was after a break of five months, the win coming on a 3m trip at Fakenham in a handicap.
Tommie Beau was back in similar form with a second-place finish on his follow up at Fontwell five weeks ago.
SPEAK OF THE DEVIL should have some claims for this one.
His latest win happened in June at Hexham and over course and distance here was runner up in October.
Speak Of The Devil found his last run at Haydock far too deep for his liking. This is a much easier challenge in front of him on Sunday.
The rest of the field looks a little bit thin. LOUGH DERG FARMER is not the most consistent but he did win on his latest run.
That was at Hexham, taking full advantage off a reduced mark.
There’s no guarantee that he will back that up for win purposes, but place claims could be there for Lough Derg Farmer.

The last effort from TABLE MOUNTAIN saw her take second place in a Huntingdon hurdle back in May on a 2m trip.
Table Mountain has placed in half of her six national hunt efforts.
She couldn’t find a win over the timbers in her juvenile season. But she is on a fair mark and not to be dismissed in a small field.
PELTWELL is the one to beat after picking straight up where she left off last season.
After dominating the previous campaign with wins in all four efforts, Peltwell has been straight back at it.
It’s two wins from two since coming back to action and she completed her six-timer at Hereford last month.
There is a 5lb rise for her, but Peltwell doesn’t look like being slowed up anytime soon.
CUP OF COFFEE put in a good victory at Ludlow last month.
Form from that one has been franked and she looks to be on a threatening mark to open her handicap campaign with.
LAURA BULLION gets the cheekpieces back on as he looks to kick on a little further. It’s been good runs from her the last two times.
The best of those was on her latest when she took a third-place finish at Taunton. She stays with the same claimer and should get involved.

HORIZON D’AINAY is going to be well supported on Sunday. He put in a fair shift in defeat in the one bumpers effort that he had.
Then it was straight into hurdling to open this season and Horizon D’Ainay did well there, taking a runner up spot at Market Rasen.
He may be tough to knock over.
BRIANNA ROSE should give the favourite something to think about and she does have a little more experience than the rest.
There were very encouraging bumper efforts from her and went close enough in a Catterick run three weeks ago on her hurdles debut. She should be better for that.
Another who could come on further is NOT LONG NOW as he looked like he needed that first spin over the hurdles.
Not Long Now was a runner up in a bumper the last term.
The other to keep a watch on was CLEAN GETAWAY who hasn’t quite settled into unlocking his ability yet.
He faded on his latest trip after going off too hard. Potential is there for more.

GEMIRANDE makes his seasonable reappearance on Sunday. He did produce a lot of hit and miss efforts last season.
Just over 12 months ago he took a win in a Wetherby novice to get off the mark in the UK.
He moves into chasing for the first time on these shores and will be coming on a trip as well. Gemirande piques some interest.
ARMATTIEKAN is thriving at the moment with two wins in his last three effort.
He picked up the first of those at Carlisle before following up at Wincanton against one that had won previously.
So Armattiekan is right on top of his game at the moment and should rate as a big danger in this field. He is 5lb up for Sunday..
Another who is in a good groove at the moment is DREAMSUNDERMYFEET with four wins in his last five.
He completed a hattrick earlier this year. It’s been two wins from three for him over the fences.
Dreamsundermyfeet did struggle with his jumping a little bit at Huntingdon last time out, but that didn’t stop him from winning.
