YALA ENKI looks like a lively contender on his return to action. He lost his rider on his final effort of the previous campaign.

But there were huge positives from him before that. There was a score at Taunton for Yala Enki in January and has proven stamina in him considering that he has taken a place finish in each of the last three Welsh National.

Yala Enki went close in this race last year with a mark of 1lb higher. He’s from a winning yard and should have a big chance.

EMPIRE DE MAULDE has been in terrific form this season.

He took a win at Kelso last month so is right on his game at the moment.

He will need to find a bit more having been handed an extra 5lb. But the extra trip that he has been given here could help Empire De Maulde go well again.

GO ANOTHER ONE was fifth here at Cheltenham three weeks ago.

Before that run, he took a very good score at Perth on a 3m trip. He’s not to be counted out of this one.

Tip: YALA ENKI 5/2

Ones to watch: Empire De Maulde 11/4, Go Another One 9/2

We only have the four runners lining up for this year’s renewal of the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham on the weekend.

PUT THE KETTLE ON should be heavily involved and she boasts a good track record at Cheltenham, having claimed the Arkle and the Queen Mother at the venue.

Put The Kettle On won this fixture twelve months ago, on what was his reappearance.

So she is proven to perform fresh and could take some beating.

Another one who is good from fresh is NUBE NEGRA who probably isn’t going to be far away in this one.

He was up against Put The Kettle On in the Queen Mother Champion Chase here at Cheltenham in March and found that rival too good on the day by a half of a length.

Nube Negra definitely rates as a danger for this.

ROUGE VIF makes his reappearance. He’s a smart chaser and will have his first run for Paul Nicholls on Sunday.

There was a course and distance victory for him on his reappearance last year. He was pushed up in grade after that and didn’t quite hit the mark.

He receives weight from the rest of the field and could feature.

POLITOLOGUE has winning form at Cheltenham winning last year’s Queen Mother.

He also picked up a runner-up spot at the Tingle Creek here last season. Politologue did have health issues last time out.

Tip: NUBE NEGRA 13/8

Ones to watch: Put The Kettle ON 7/4, Rouge Vif 6/1

This is a big field from Cheltenham on Sunday and there are aplenty with some decent claims coming into action in it.

CAMPROND is sitting on a hattrick chance, an upward swing of form that included a Grade 2 victory at Chepstow.

He has also performed well in handicaps at this distance before and rates as a good threat in the fixture.

TRITONIC is unexposed but could benefit from having had a reappearance run under his belt.

That was three weeks ago here at Cheltenham in which he banked a second-place finish. Tritonic has gone as well over the hurdles as he had done on the flat and gets on the shortlist for a winning yard.

CORMIER is sharp having won a couple of times on the flat since May.

He was last seen making the switch back to the hurdles when fourth at the Welsh Champion Hurdle last month. Cormier is from a winning yard and could make his presence felt.

GALICE MACALO was a big improver in novice company last season. She looked in need of a run at Chepstow for her reappearance a month ago. She’s not to be counted out.

Nor is ORDINARY JOE if he can find the progress needed. He has won back to back novice hurdles at Southwell and Worcester.

JESSE EVANS is another who warrants respect after winning on the flat three weeks ago.

Tip: TRITONIC 15/2

Ones to watch: Galicia Macalo 16/1, No Ordinary Joe 6/1

There are four runners for the renewal of the Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham on Sunday.

I LIKE TO MOVE IT could be the one who takes all of the beating in the contest. He is undefeated over the hurdles and has made a big impression this season.

It’s been back to back wins for him.

The latest win for I LIKE TO MOVE IT happened at Worcester three weeks ago in a field of four and it was eye-catching over course and distance against experienced ones.

WASHINGTON should rate as a big danger in this one as well as he is unbeaten in three racetrack appearances.

He got off the mark with a couple of bumper wins and delivered the goods at Bangor a couple of weeks ago on his hurdles debut. He is a player.

SONIGINO claimed a victory in France on his latest run and returns from a break of six months.

He has since moved into the care of Paul Nicholls and with Harry Cobden on his back, isn’t out of the running.

PIKAR was second of nine at Chepstow a month ago on his debut. That was a decent enough start but will need to find more for this.

Tip: I LIKE TO MOVE IT 11/10

Ones to watch: Washington 5/2, Sonigino 5/1

SALTY BOY is potentially a big player after having had a reappearance run two weeks ago at Lingfield on a shorter trip.

He hasn’t won for a couple of years now, but looked good in a staying effort at Newcastle earlier this year when he took third in the Eider Chase. Salty Boy looks well handicapped.

LE BREUIL is now at a career-low mark which means that he can’t totally be written off for this one.

This is his reappearance run and while he hasn’t looked the same since winning at the 2019 Cheltenham Festival, has been given a chance by the handicapper.

GAME LINE is a big contender for the shortlist as well. He has improved leaps and bounds this year. He opened the season with a win at Fakenham in May.

Then there was a good follow up from this same mark at Cartmel on his most recent effort in June. Coming back after a break, Game Line should have a big chance.

PREMIER D’TROICE picked up a victory on his last run at Fontwell.

He looks like a useful hurdler and wasn’t totally disgraced under a double penalty on his penultimate. A trip at Aintree three weeks ago after a break got him in shape.

Tip: GAME LINE 11/2

Ones to watch: Premier D’troice 15/2, Salty Boy 4/1

NATURAL HISTORY makes a return to action for the first time after a runner up spot over the hurdles at Newton Abbot in April.

A victory at Plumpton in March shows what he is capable and while he didn’t follow up last season on the score, he is easily well handicapped to go boldly again.

QUINTA DO MAR won his first handicap at the second time of asking which was on his reappearance three weeks ago.

There has been a whopping 9lb rise for Quinta Do Mar to deal with on Sunday after taking that victory by five lengths.

But still, he looks a good progressive one in this sphere and still commands respect.

MERCIAN PRINCE is another to keep in mind for the shortlist in horse racing betting.

There was a victory for him on his latest, which was four weeks ago in a Kempton chase.

He is only up 2lb from his last win over the timbers which was in the summer, so Merican Prince looks like being a lively contender.

Tip: NATURAL HISTORY 6/4

Ones to watch: Marcian Prince 7/1, Quinta Do Mar 10/3
