Race Preview

COBBLERS DREAM looks like being the big player in this one after picking up a score on his reappearance at Warwick.

That was an easy win for him and what was his first run for a new yard 26 days ago. He looks to have a lot more potential to unlock.

BALK SAINT was poor over the fences on his latest effort, but can’t be ruled out on a switch back to the timbers.

He opened the season with a good victory in France at Compiegne in what was a valuable fixture with plenty to spare.

TULIN will be looking for further progress and a bounce back after a bit of a lazy shift at Newton Abbot on his latest.

That was a reappearance run and he returns from yet another long break, having last been in action 165 days ago.

HAMMERSMITH won his penultimate fixture which was a Galway maiden before landing a credible third in a Listowel novice. He’ll probably need a lot more here.

GOA LIL piques interest for horse racing betting in this one. He has been in good form recently and poses a threat on a return to the fences.

He took a win over the fences at Stratford (form which has since been franked) three races ago. On his latest Goa Lil picked up a sharp win over the hurdles at Perth.

Goa Lil is bang in form at the moment and could be the one to knock over at Kempton on Sunday as he’s on a fair mark.

MERCIAN PRINCE rattled the crossbar at Worcester five weeks ago and fits well at Kempton.

He is a former course and distance winner, in total scoring in three of five previous Kempton wins. There has been a 2lb rise for him following his latest.

MASTER WORK is capable of a good run from fresh, so could work his way into this one. The conditions are going to help him probably, as he makes his seasonal reappearance.

SILVER STREAK thrives at Kempton and is heading up the market as an odds-on selection in horse racing betting.

Silver Streak has won the last two editions of this fixture and is expected to go well again. This is his seasonal reappearance.

SCEAU ROYAL is the biggest threat to the favourite in this contest because he goes well fresh. He was really on top of his game last season.

Now back hurdling, Alan King’s 9-year-old will probably have enough to push Silver Streak all the way in this fascinating contest.

TEQANY has had a good year on the flat with some winning form on the level. So he won’t be totally counted out. On his last go over the hurdles Teqany was second to Sceau Royal at Wincanton.

ALEATORIC gets the cheekpieces back on but the maiden looks to be a long way short of the quality needed to get this job done.

There are a few with decent claims to look at in horse racing betting for this one. The one with the stand out form is MISTER TICKLE.

He completed a hattrick last time out, delivering a score at Fontwell on his latest, which was 16 days ago.

Mister Tickle has come on leaps and bounds over the fences with the help of the blinkers. There’s been an extra 5lb thrown at him.

WYE AYE came up just 2lb for a win at Perth 24 days ago. That was an eye-catching run over 3m and that was his fourth win in six runs over the hurdles.

The final selection for the shortlist is THE COMPOSEUR who delivered a debut win over the fences at Southwell.

He was going very strongly in a follow up at Uttoxeter but was a faller in that one. So he stays at the same mark and The Composeur rates a danger.

This is the Durham National and once again for this popular fixture we have a competitive field lining up.

HEWICK is in top form at the moment and he leads the horse racing betting. He has looked very good on his move to the fences and this longer trip surely has to offer him a big chance.

BRIAN BORHANA is a previous winner of the Durham National and comes in fresh. He closed out last season with an encouraging third here at Sedgefield, so he could enter calculations.

RED GIANT won last year’s edition and can’t be ignored either.

A good third at Perth on his latest suggests that he is just possibly speaking for another insulator on this one. Red Giant is 3lb out of the handicap.

MONTANNA also rates as a threat in this contest after scoring on his penultimate.

He followed up that Sedgefield handicap win with a very good second at Uttoxeter having been moved up the weights.

GORDON’S JET showed some good form on his last run, claiming a third-place finish here at Sedgefield on his latest. That was his first run since wind surgery.

He is lightly raced and he has not really put a foot wrong this season. Gordon’s Jet should get himself heavily involved.

COUNTISTER continues to give good accounts having finished in the frame in each of her last three.

That includes a win last month on a similar trip. There was a third-place finish at course and distance for her on her latest and Countister rates a danger.

THE VOLLAN is very interesting after taking a win at Worcester in July. That was his final run for his previous yard. He looks to have some scope in the handicapping to get himself into the picture.
