Today’s horse racing tips turn attention to a couple of venues, which are Musselburgh and Pontefract.

It’s six selections that we have for today’s racing.

The headline race is the 16:10 Pontefract which is the Pomfret Stakes (Listed) in which Regal Reality lines up as a current odds-on favourite.

REGAL REALITY is the strong 8/11 odds-on favourite* (betting odds recorded 23:45 GMT on July 24th 2021 at William Hill).

As the top-rated runner here, he brings some leading claims for Sir Michael Stoute after a sixth place in the Summer Mile at Ascot two weeks ago.

Last year Regal Reality won a Group 3 and while he hasn’t quite been there this season, he has form at higher levels than this company.

BRUNCH looks the most likely to launch a challenge to the favourite in this one. William Buick gets booked for the ride for the first time.

There has been decent form from him in handicapping but this is a tougher assignment. The other to watch for the shortlist is RHOSCOLYN who has won three of his last four.

That hattrick was easily completed with a victory at Epsom in June. He wasn’t in top form last time out at Chester but has place claims.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

CORINTHIA KNIGHT could be tough to knock over in this testing handicap. He is the 7/4 favourite* (betting odds recorded 23:45 GMT on July 24th 2021 at William Hill).

Earlier this month he took a course and distance victory and showed good fight to get across the line first in a tight finish.

Conditions won’t bother him as he’s versatile and looks a good fit for this one.

There has been a 4lb rise for him, but that could be within his scope. Hollie Doyle is booked for the ride and the six-year-old looks a good selection.

ZUMURUD appeals for the palaces in this one. He is dropping back in trip here and that means he could have a little trouble continuing form.

He’s stronger over further and enters Sunday after a third-place finish at York last time out. The shorter trip is of concern in terms of landing the win.

HIGHLY SPRUNG has been given a big chance by the handicapper in this one. He was well down the field in an Ascot handicap on the softer ground 78 days ago.

However, Highly Sprung has tremendous form at Pontefract and he has won six times over course and distance.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This is a wide-open contest and for it, is WATER OF LEITH who is the 11/1 horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 23:45 GMT on July 24th 2021 at William Hill).

Last year he picked up a couple of wins on the all-weather at 6f and he has started to get his form back together lately.

There was a good second-place finish for him at Haydock 9 days ago and could enjoy the slightly shorter trip here. Water Of Leith is of note coming back at the same mark.

GUNNERSIDE may have a big say in this fixture as his sprinting form is on the money at the moment. He has won four of his last five.

The latest of those wins was three weeks ago at Carlisle when he took another comfortable win. The handicapper has been after him, handing another 6lb to work with. He can’t be counted out.

GOOD LUCK FOX is of interest. He hasn’t received the best draw for this spring but is carrying form. He won at course and distance last month, beating a couple of these.

It’s a 7lb rise, but with two wins in his last three, Good Luck Fox brings place claims.

SIX STRINGS is our horse racing tip at 5/1 for this handicap* (betting odds recorded 23:45 GMT on July 24th 2021 at William Hill).

This is an apprentice training series handicap. After three second-place finishes on the spin, SIX STRINGS warrants a look here.

He is down on trip after his latest effort and carries a 3lb claimer. There have been three wins notched up by Six Strings this year and looked right in form at Ayr two weeks ago.

NOBLE CRUISE is on the up and collected a score at Carlisle last month. There could be more on offer from him as he’s still relatively unexposed.

The other that looks capable is DETECTIVE who is thriving at the moment. He sits on a hattrick chance after scoring at Carlisle 17 days ago.

That’s three wins in his last four and they have all been at Carlisle. But there were more signs of improvement from him last time out, so Detective clearly makes it on the shortlist.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

RISING STAR at 11/8 looks to be the way to go in this one* (betting odds recorded 23:45 GMT on July 24th 2021 at William Hill).

It wouldn’t be a win out of turn if it happens. It was a runner-up spot for her at Newmarket in a 7f handicap two weeks ago.

Given that Rising Star stays at the same mark and still looks to be on the up, she has a big chance on Sunday.

There should be a good challenge to come from REAL TERMS. She comes up 5lb after a second-place finish at Wetherby on a longer trip last month.

That was her handicap debut and the form from the fixture has since worked out.

The final one for the shortlist is GOMETRA GINTY who is a course and distance winner. It’s been three wins for her this year.

She has been eased 1lb from a sixth-place finish at Catterick 11 days ago. She’s not to be written off.

He was third at Hamilton on his latest run and he could get a jump on the competition in this one because of a good draw.

Coase seems to be in good form for his new yard and looks to have a good chance to get close.

DANZAN is a threat as well in this one. He has been looking to end a losing streak but took a good fourth-place finish at York in a competitive fixture on his latest run.

LION TOWER opened the season with a couple of handicap victories and looks to be going well for his yard at the moment.

Lion Tower continued in good form recently as he took a third-place finish at Carlisle 32 days ago.
