ESPOIR DE ROMAY came on well last season taking a couple of chase wins, the latest of which was in March at Leicester.

Espoir De Romay was then sent into a Grade 1 at Aintree for his final effort of the previous campaign and was travelling very well before taking a fall.

He is full of potential and he looks like being a lively contender on Sunday.

A challenge may come in from FIDDLERONTHEROOF who is a very consistent sort.

There was a lot to like about his form over the fences last season, the pick of the bunch a second-place finish in a Cheltenham Grade One.

AHOY SENOR is another with a big chance on Sunday in this excellent contest. He won his final two efforts of last season and made a winning start over the hurdles at Ayr.

The follow up came in the Sefton with a victory and Ahoy Senor looked very comfortable going up in class for that.

Tip: ESPOIR DE ROMAY

Ones to watch: Ahoy Senor 3/1, Fiddlerontheroof 7/2

HOLD THAT TAUGHT could be a front runner for the win in this handicap chase at Carlisle on Sunday. Last season’s form puts him in good stead.

Hold That Taught is a former pointer and hurdles winner and moved on well over the fences as a novice.

He looks to be fairly treated for his handicap debut in this sphere.

WHO’S IN THE BOX is a challenger as he was superbly consistent, not finishing outside of the top two in five runs.

There were some big improvements as he was sent over the fences, which included him getting off the mark at Market Rasen.

Who’s In The Box is a big player.

Also worth considering for the shortlist in horse racing betting is JUGE ET PARTI who is starting on a hattrick chance.

The latest of those was at Perth in the summer on a debut for his new yard.

Juge Et Parti is pushed up 5lb but he looks to have more to come.

Tip: WHO’S IN THE BOX 5/1

Ones to watch: Hold That Taught 7/2, Juge Et Parti 7/2

DONLADD is a former course and distance winner, the only one with such a claim taking part in this field on Sunday.

He is a promising type and picked up that C&D in April to get off the mark in the sphere.

Form from that effort has been franked and Donladd has to feature strongly.

A big competitor is WOR VERGE who had a very good spring, going close a couple of times.

On his reappearance 17 days he was close here at Carlisle. Wor Verge has the stamina to get this job done.

UNIVERSAL FOLLY has been falling down the weights and is no forlorn hope for Sunday’’s handicap effort.

He hasn’t managed to get that elusive victory and has struggled the last two times.

But the conditions could help him snap back into form and each-way claims are there.

Tip: Dondladd 3/1

Ones to watch: Wor Verge 9/4, Universal Folly 7/1

TOMMY’S OSCAR is a leading contender on Sunday after having had a good reappearance run under his belt. That was 18 days ago at Wetherby.

He should be even more tuned up after that one as he looks to kick on from last season in which he was excellent.

Tommy’s Oscar won four times in his novice campaign and stood up very well to claim a third-place finish in the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr.

ALBERT’S BACK should have a chance as he makes his return to action. He is a good one coming in fresh so he is likely to be heavily involved.

Albert’s Back did secure consecutive victories last year before ending the season with a fall at Wetherby in February. He’s not one to dismiss.

Another reasonable shortlist contender is MINT CONDITION who is a good gritty performer.

He won three handicaps in the previous season and the latest victory happened on Boxing Day last year.

With a good second at Uttoxeter to close out the season, Mint Condition can’t be underestimated for this challenge.

Tip: Albert’s Back 5/1

Ones to watch: Mint Condition 6/1, Tommy’s Oscar 7/2

CROOKS PEAK claimed a third-place finish for David Skelton on his reappearance.

That was a month ago at Uttoxeter and a better jumping game would have probably gotten Crooks Peak the win.

He is probably not one to give up on yet, but the move to a right-handed track may help out, as pulling to the right was what hindered him at Uttoxeter.

Crooks Peak is on a favourable mark and can get involved.

ABOVE SUSPICION is unexposed in chasing but regardless looks to have some potential in this sphere.

There was fair form over the hurdles and took a good third in a handicap in May offer the timbers.

This isn’t the strongest of races in terms of form so JAMACHO could get himself involved as well.

There have been good consistent form from him to suggest so.

Jamacho won over the hurdles last month at Worcester under the same jockey.

He has had a couple of goes at the fences with credible results and he could be the solution for this trappy horse racing betting affair.

Tip: JAMACHO 3/1

Ones to watch: Crooks Peak 9/4, Above Suspicion 10/3

UNO MAS took an easy conditional win a week ago at Aintree. That means he doesn’t get penalised and should be a big player in this contest.

He has just come to life recently, winning three of his last four.

Uno Mas sits on a hattrick chance and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him take it. He’s thriving.

A big challenge could be launched by ABINGTON PARK who picked up a win on his penultimate run.

That victory was taken at Hexham in August and followed that up with a good third back at the same venue.

Abington Park has enough above him to get involved in this one.

So too BAGAN who may be worth revisiting at the moment.

There were clear excuses for him last time out as a race at Exeter never panned out in his favour at all.

Bagan claimed a win at Stratford in September in a handicap hurdle and while he hasn’t been back at that kind of level, each way claims are there in a fairly weak field.

Tip: Abington Park 6/1

Ones to watch: Bagan 18/1, Uno Mas 8/11
