After the thrills and spills of the Epsom Derby Festival on Friday and Saturday, today’s horse racing tips move into calmer waters for Sunday.

SMART CHAMPION was a runner up on his latest run, which was at Southwell six weeks ago.
While it sees him continue along on a winless streak, he showed a great attitude on what was his reappearance run. Smart Champion should go well once more.
MAKE MY DAY was a runner up on a return to the flat a month ago, which was a run at Ascot.
Before having a few spins over the hurdles, Make My Day had won three times on the flat for previous connections. He should get involved.
MELLOW MAGIC scored on his season opener at Windsor back in April. He has stayed in form since.
It has been back to back runner-up spots since then and the latest of those was over course and distance, so Mellow Magic should be in the frame.

INDIAN CREAK has been in the frame the last twice and he doesn’t look to be too far away from landing a score.
His most recent effort was at Windsor three weeks ago, going close and being well ahead of anyone else behind him.
Indian Creak looks as if he should be right there on Sunday and he is a former course winner as well.
SPANISH STAR could pose a threat in this contest as he makes a drop in class, so he should find the going easier.
Spanish Star is a two-time course and distance, handicap winner.
He posted a good third place finish here at Goodwood a couple of weeks ago and should be competitive.
THE LAMPLIGHTER looks for a defence in this race after taking last year’s success from 4lb lower.
He has had two runs this year and in both of those, The Lamplighter went very close so he is in good form and looks ready to strike.

SHANKO was third on his latest run, when he had a spin at Windsor on his latest, which was on the same 5f trip.
He opened his career with back to back wins in novices, but he hasn’t quite delivered the goods in handicapping since.
Still, this looks like a reasonable assignment for him so Shanko shouldn’t be far away.
TEXAS MAN makes a return after a long break and he will be looking for the completion of a hattrick too.
His career as a 2-year-old ended on a really high note, getting himself in the frame twice.
If Texas Man brings further progress to the table, he could make his presence felt.
SACRED JEWEL made such a strong impression at Leicester on her first run for a new yard last time out.
She stormed the field at Leicester on her reappearance run three weeks ago in a maiden.
Sacred Jewel’s breeding is fantastic and she looks to be on a lenient mark.

GEREMIA was in great form last season and he seems to be getting on top of his form at the moment.
There was a third palace finish for him a couple of weeks ago at York.
Geremia put in a much better effort there having been moved back up on the trip. Big claims.
CAPTAIN HADDOCK has a chance in his one as well and is well worth a post on the shortlist.
He scored a couple of times last year on the turf and looked in fine nick with a runner up at Hamilton four weeks ago.
Captain Haddock didn’t get the run he wanted there as he was undone by tactics, but he’s a threat.
EVALUATION completed a hat trick last time out when he won a much stronger race than this at York two weeks ago.
He has been thriving in his new yard this season and he moves up another 5lb.
Evaluation is clearly in the kind of mood to shrug that off and get his nose in front once again.

HAPPY CRAF can’t be ignored here as she is seeking a hattrick after running into some big form.
She will have her first run for a new yard on Sunday. She has the pick of the form in this one so is on the shortlist.
EIDIKOS had a good fourth place finish in a competitive race at York last time out, sticking with the pace well.
The conditions weren’t perhaps right for her.
But Eidikos has been an excellent improver and can muscle her way into contention.
SNOOZE N YOU LOSE put in a good shift on her latest run, only finding a good prospect too good for her on the day in a York handicap.
That was 25 days ago, and it was an excellent effort in defeat.
That was a big step forward from Snooze N You Lose and further progress gets her in this.

The dual chase winner took advantage of a lower grade to pick up the win.
The conditions should suit Excelerator Express nicely at Perth on Sunday and he should be ready for a big follow up.
MINELLA TRUMP is another key player in this contest and he has two previous courses and distance wins over the fences.
It has been five wins from five by Minella Trump at Perth. He’s been so consistent before and let’s not forget his seven-timer in November.
The only question mark over Minella Trump for Sunday is that he is now at a career-high mark so will need to find more.
BROKEN QUEST piques interest although he has been handed an extra 8lb by the handicapper.
Still, Broken Quest warrants respect in this one as he completed a hattrick in fine style at Market Rasen a month ago. The form is there.
