This is a competitive fixture with most having reasonable claims. Vorahann gets the nod as he is a former course and distance winner.

He’s also eased 5lb after failing to compete in a Newton Abbot handicap last time out.

Vorashann got his first hurdles win here at Fontwell, so the return could be good.

The other one with big interest is favourite PAWPAW who went close on his handicap debut last time out at Huntingdon.

That strong effort, combined with a winning start over the hurdles on his penultimate, puts Pawpaw in the frame.

GOLDENCARD is well worth a look at a quote of 6/5 in horse racing betting* (betting odds recorded 19:50 GMT on 4th September 2021 at William Hill).

He made all to comfortably win at Uttoxeter on his latest, which was just 4 days ago. There will be a little concern that this too soon.

Naturally, he is back under a penalty here of 7lb which gives him a lot extra to do. But Goldencard is still well worth a shot.

A big threat to the favourite is HE IS A CRACKER who has gone well on his last two. He takes a drop in trip and looks competitive currently.

BETWEEN THE WATERS will be the other shortlist selection.

The form is reasonable enough from him and he is sitting on a potentially beneficial mark at the moment.

He has been brilliant for his yard and has picked up five wins in six runs.

He was comfortable in scoring at Newton Abbot on his latest and came up 15lb. If Diligent is allowed to get to the front, he’ll probably dominate.

YCCS PORTO CERVO has done very well this season and has lost nothing in back to back defeats. There was a score over the fences for him at Uttoxeter in June.

OSCAR ROSE ended the last campaign with the completion of a hattrick in April. She had a reappearance run 52 days ago which she looked like she badly needed.

ISLAND NATION should have a strong showing in him.

He is the current 9/4 favourite* (betting odds recorded 19:50 GMT on 4th September 2021 at William Hill).

On his last run, he was at Class 2 over course and distance and put in a good run to claim a place finish.

This is an easier assignment and after opening his hurdles account over course and distance in July, he naturally looks like a big player.

MULLINS CROSS is unexposed but she picked up a win in a Sligo handicap three weeks ago. So that piques interest, but more is needed here.

SWORD OF FATE has had a good time of things this summer, including picking up a win here at Perth.

He was fourth at Cartmel from a long way out of the handicap six days ago.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

The form of GREAT AMBASSADOR is hard to overlook at a quote of 2/1 as a horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 19:50 GMT on 4th September 2021 at William Hill).

He enters the action after picking up a very good win at Newmarket in a handicap on his last run. Great Ambassador does come up in grade but looks very good for it.

GULLIVER is generally reliable whenever he shows up at York, and he had a good second place in the Stewards’ Cup on his latest.

TABDEED has not put a foot wrong this year, having gone well in defeat in all three runs.

FIVE THOUSANDTOONE has struggled for form this year, not building on what had been a promising juvenile campaign.

The final horse racing tip of the day is MOKTASAAB at 5/1* (betting odds recorded 19:50 GMT on 4th September 2021 at William Hill).

He got off the mark on his latest run, which was Yarmouth. A change of equipment did him the power of good there.

That victory at Yarmouth was also his first run since being gelded. ARAMAIC is a good one as well, after getting off the mark at Musselburgh.

He may be ahead of the handicapper at the moment for this one, so is well worth consideration in horse racing betting.

DUTY OF CARE picked up a recent win at Pontefract and has been hit with just a 2lb rise for that. There is potentially more to come from him.
