MORLAIX is the 9/4 favourite for this contest* (betting odds recorded 16:41 GMT on Thursday, 11th February 2021 at Bet365).

There was a slightly disappointing run for him last time out as he was fifth at Kempton. He started well in the contest but couldn’t stick in there.

Morlaix comes onto the fibresand for the first time and does bring some nice claims with him.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

BLACK BOX could have a good shout in this one. She has made it to a place finish on each of her last three starts.

The most recent of those was 79 days ago when she scored a third-place finish at Kempton in a minor event.

This is her first go handicapping and she comes up on a trip.

DR JEKYLL will be the other name for the shortlist in this one. The lightly raced maiden was fourth in a field of course on his last run.

Has been away for the best part of a year now. That last run was at course and distance and he is coming slightly down in class on a falling mark.

BILL CODY is the even-money favourite for this contest* (betting odds recorded 16:41 GMT on Thursday, 11th February 2021 at Bet365).

He collected a win on his latest effort, which was just 24 days ago. Bill Cody is coming up in distance for this effort, but he sets the standard here.

It was a win here at Southwell that he took on his last run, scoring by a good three lengths.

There is a 4lb rise for him, but he looks more than good enough to handle that.

BE MY SEA is the other big player in this one. He posted a decent effort at Southwell last month, taking a second-place finish.

That was a month ago. So with that under his belt on what was a reappearance run, he could build on it and go close.

This is a big step up in trip, however. But Be My Sea is our 4/1 pick* (betting odds recorded 16:41 GMT on Thursday, 11th February 2021 at Bet365).

ATOMIC JACK is the other for the shortlist. He needs a bounceback performance here after a pretty poor effort the last time he was on the flat.

Atomic Jack was over the jumps eleven days ago though and it is heading towards six months since he had a flat race. Not to be dismissed.

There was a fight place finish for him last time out as he moved on to one flat success from 22 attempts. He wasn’t at his best on that last run.

Ture Hero came home in the middle of a field of 11 here at Southwell 8 days ago.

This isn’t a strong fixture though, and that last effort was his first in four months. He could feature.

BLACKCURRENT looks the better selection for us however at 9/4* (betting odds recorded 16:41 GMT on Thursday, 11th February 2021 at Bet365).

He was a course and distance winner here five days ago. That was a career-best effort and we expect him to be well back in the frame.

The other is BLUELLA who was third behind winner Blackcurrant in that recent course and distant effort.

She comes in at 1lb better off than that particular rival for this fixture. She has hit the places in two of her last three runs now.

The last run that he had was two months ago over course and distance in a handicap. He was second from last in that effort as he got caught up with no room to work with.

Global Art is a previous course and distance winner however and won here just back in September. So he’s not without some claims.

BAYSTON HILL is a great fit for Chelmsford City and he simply comes on a thrives when he shows up on the polytrack.

So he is our 3/1 selection* (betting odds recorded 16:41 GMT on Thursday, 11th February 2021 at Bet365).

He was a course and winner just a month ago in a 12 runner handicap. That was his fifth C&D score.

RITCHIE VALENS is another for the shorts in a really competitive field. He seemed to be back somewhere near his best at Lingfield three weeks ago.

He ran himself into a bit of form after a slow start. Ritchie Valens comes down in class and is also a former course and distance winner.

There was a fourth palace finish for him last time out in a field of twelve over course and distance. He is a previous course and distance winner, however.

He has now been eased back lb and would be expected to have a strong run here after being held up last time out.

ENGRAVE is our selection at 7/1 however as we go long* (betting odds recorded 16:41 GMT on Thursday, 11th February 2021 at Bet365).

She is a two-time course and distance winner now.

Engrave didn’t have the stamina at Southwell 23 days ago, but a couple of furlongs is shaved off from that trip here. So that puts her back in the frame.

There should be another good effort from MELGATE MAJEURE who was sixth at Lingfield three weeks ago.

He didn’t get the room to work that he needed to in that one.

But he won his penultimate race, which was at Newcastle back in January. Melgate Majeure brings solid claims.

VELVET VISTA is the 11/8 favourite for this fillies’ handicap* (betting odds recorded 16:41 GMT on Thursday, 11th February 2021 at Bet365).

She completed a hattrick eight days ago with a score here at Chelmsford City.

She kept on well in that one which suggests that she has enough in coming up to the 1m trip.

There is a huge 10lb penalty for Velvet Vista, but that is just an indication of the rapid progress that she is making at the moment.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

LADY ALAVESA scored on her last run so she goes at the shortlist. That win aws two weeks ago at Kempton in a 4-runner handicap.

That was a nice return to form by here and that success did come at this distance. She goes up just 1lb.

VIVENCY has been carrying good form this season.

She couldn’t build on a win at Kempton in January where she struggled to keep up her effort on a 7f trip.

That most recent run was six days ago and it will be interesting to see if she can get back on it.
