MOMELLA is the current market leader for this one at 6/5* (betting odds taken from Betway at 20:12 GMT on Wednesday, 16th December 2020).

She missed out on the chance to build on what was a promising reappearance, which was a second-place at Newton Abbot.

That’s because Momella was brought down on her follow up race at Huntington.

But she was well backed in the field and we expect her to be right about here given the excellent opening performance for the season.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

DEJA VUE could be helped out with the conditions in this fixture. She opened the season with a decent enough second-place finish at Fontwell.

But she was running out of steam a little bit at the end of that 2m 3f trip, which was her chase debut.

The drop in trip and being fitter for that run makes Deja Vue our selection at 10/3* (betting odds taken from Betway at 20:12 GMT on Wednesday, 16th December 2020).

The other for shortlist considerations is VIENNA COURT who opened the season with a third-place finish.

That was on her chasing bow at Bangor last month on this same trip. She was 12l back of the winner in that one,

But it’s something to build on. Place claims at the very least should be there for Vienna Court.

The race favourite is ECLAIR SURF at 11/4* (betting odds taken from Betway at 20:12 GMT on Wednesday, 16th December 2020).

He opened the season with a decent second-place effort. That was over course and distance 45 days ago.

Eclair Surf is still lightly raced and he was showing good form last season. That latest effort this season saw him make the switch to chasing for the first time.

He is only dealing with a nice 3lb rise for this next run so he should feature strongly.

This is a very strong-looking chase, however.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

GUY is right there at 11/4 as well currently at the head of the market* (betting odds taken from Betway at 20:12 GMT on Wednesday, 16th December 2020).

He has adapted well on the move to chasing action, having one of two efforts so far.

The win was on his reappearance run and he followed it up from a mark of 12lb higher at Wetherby with a second-place finish. Guy gets the nod from us.

GOLDEN WHISKY is going to be the other selection for the shortlist in this fixture.

He needed his reappearance run after 9 months ago.

Golden Whisky claimed a fourth-place over 17f on his reappearance, which was at Exeter 25 days ago.

He has been eased 2lb in the ratings as he returns, so that could help his chances.

This will be his reappearance run for the season. It will also be his first run of wind surgery.

Brinkley signed off last season with a win over the hurdles in what was just his second effort in that sphere.

That was back at Newbury in February. On his handicap debut here he looks to be opening on a very fair mark.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ADDICI looks as if he could throw together a competitive challenge in this race. He picked up a win on his reappearance run for this season.

That was his first effort since wind surgery. The victory for the Jonjo O’Neill trained gelding was at Fontwell in a field of six.

He gets a 4lb rise from that. We think there are strong claims from 11/2* (betting odds taken from Betway at 20:12 GMT on Wednesday, 16th December 2020).

HOOLIGAN is also worth watching here. He will be looking to build on a good reappearance win at Wetherby.

There is an extra trip for him to handle in this one and he looks to readily be heading in the right direction. Hooligan scored a novice hurdle win at Warwick in March too.

Heading the market for this 2m trip is DEMOPOLIS at 6/4* (betting odds taken from Betway at 20:12 GMT on Wednesday, 16th December 2020).

There’s a lot like here, especially in the weights as he’s at the bottom of the listings here despite a 1lb rise from his last run.

He opened the season with a second-place finish at Markets Rasen. That was from a field of 11 over a 2m trip and that puts him in the frame.

He claimed a couple of wins at Ludlow last season helped out by the addition of the tongue strap which he retains.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

SONG OF THE HUNTER looks as if he has something to offer. This will be his return to action after a break, so he will have to shrug that off.

But he signed off well last season, winning two of his final three runs. The latter of those was on his hurdle debut in March at Taunton.

Another to be respected in the field is MONGOL EMPEROR who is coming into handicapping to look for a boost.

This will be his fourth run of the season, having gone over the hurdles in each of his three efforts for this campaign.

There has been signs of potential, and handicapping could help him kick on.

There has been some stellar form from him this season, winning four of five trips.

The most recent of those was in a Hereford handicap chase.

He doesn’t take on a penalty for that ahead of this one, so the Tom Symonds charge should be a big player once again. Innisfree Lad is definitely one to keep on the shortlist.

This is a great line up going off in that race. CROSSLEY TENDER is also in cracking form at the moment and he is a former course and distance winner.

He has already scored a hat-trick this season and missed out on his last effort as a four-timer.

Crossley Tender just missed out by half a length but has to be respected at 7/1* (betting odds taken from Betway at 20:12 GMT on Wednesday, 16th December 2020).

GO WHATEVER should be a lot sharper for his reappearance run. That ended in a 4th place finish after a 10-month break.

So that should have done him the power of good and he looks built to be a great chaser.

There’s plenty more to come from him and will likely be in the mix after having had that chasing bow at Ascot recently.

BLUE MONDAY is the joint-favourite for this one as he looks to complete for the first time his season.

He was a faller on his reappearance run and then pulled up at Leicester after running as if something had been wrong. He’ll likely drift in the market.

BOGOSS DU PERRET is at that 4/1 mark* (betting odds taken from Betway at 20:12 GMT on Wednesday, 16th December 2020).

He picked up a win on his latest run as he came back into chasing at Stratford back in October. That was a big improvement and deals with a 6lb rise.

INDIAN HARBOUR was fourth at Leicester on his last run. That was just last month of a furlong further than this.

What gives him a decent chance is that along with the drop in trip comes a 1lb easing in the handicapping as well.

Indian Harbour is starting to show having been in the frame in his last couple of chases.

TUDORS TREASURE could be worth a look as well as he has won all three previous course and distance efforts.

He pulled up on his reappearance run at Ffos Las 39 days ago. But he is likely going to be more comfortable back in familiar surroundings here.
