We open todays’ horse racing tips with a look at PATSY FAGAN. He should have a big chance in this one.

It has been back to back wins for him after winning from 7lb higher at Haydock back in June. He had plenty in the tank to call on there as well.

This has been a good upward curve of recent form from Miramichi and clearly warrants respect. He does get a 5lb bump up for that latest win but that should keep him within this range.

CLAY looks like being the big opposition to the favourite in this contest. He has been a little unfortunate. I’m coming up against progressive ones on his last two.

It has been a back to back second-place finishes at Lingfield from him on this trip.

The other worth watching for the shortlist is CLASSY DAME who has won three of his last six trips and stays in a competitive mood.

RUSSIAN VIRTUE has claims as well but was beaten over course and distance in a handicap by Sweet Reward last month. He needs to bounce back after a poorer effort last time out.

The other to watch for the shortlist is going to be LADY RESET who opened the season with back to back wins.

It looks as if the handicapper had caught up with her last time out. Lady Reset goes with a 5lb claimer.
