We get some top sprint action here in the wide-open Group 3 contest at Salisbury. There are plenty here with claims.

PEARL GLORY certainly has plenty after scoring at course and distance last time out. She chased down a good colt in that contest to get the score.

The two of them were well clear of everyone else in the field.

That two wins from two for her now, and while that C&D success was only by a head, she should be better for it.

DUBAI JEWEL should have some claims coming up in class. She looks as if she can handle that as her recent score at Newbury oozed class.

It has been back to back wins for her now and she showed a sizable improvement in that latest run, so she should be a player.

The other to catch is INTELLIGENTSIA who enters for just her second racecourse appearance. She opened her account impressively though.

Intelligentsia beat a previous Group 3 winner to land a victory at Newbury on her debut in July.

The stall draw for Thursday’s contest isn’t the greatest, but that was a smart piece of form that she delivered on her debut.

It is an interesting one up next and we are going with PERSIST at 11/4 to turn the tables on a key rival* (betting odds recorded 17:56 GMT on September 1st 2021 at Ladbrokes).

She is well-bred and there was plenty of promise shown on her debut with a fourth-place finish at Newbury. She was behind rival HAMSEH on the day (3rd).

There are strong claims for HAMSEH after that third-place finish in a minor event at Newbury. That was 20 days on her debut as well. She looks like a good one.

The other that warrants some respect for the shortlist is GOOD AMERICAN.

The breeding is there (daughter of American Pharoah) to suggest that she could come out of the gates on her debut with a strong performance.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

STONIFIC may be hard to beat in this one. He completed a double after picking up a win in the Summer Plate at Market Rasen in July. That came after a long break.

Stonific is up just 3lb from that and with a recent run on the flat, he stays sharp enough to come through and take what is a fairly weak contest.

SNOOKERED may be worth considering, despite not having done anything this season. He is well rested now and is at the same mark as his last hurdle win.

Snookered has won three of five previous efforts at Sedgefield.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This is a wide-open, small-field affair. PARDON ME is the odds-on favourite, but she comes back to action with a 5lb rise to deal with.

There has been some big form from Pardon Me recently as she sits on a hattrick chance. That’s stiff rise however in the weights.

INSTANT REPLAY generally does very well at Sedgefield so that puts him in this. His last win was here in May on a reduced mark.

RIVER FROST is still tumbling down the ratings but has to even out at some point and this isn’t a forlorn hope on Thursday.

But our selection as a horse racing tip is LUCKOFTHEDRAW who seems to have arrived back at a decent handicapping mark.

He’s been a decent chaser and is well-rested having been last seen at Southwell on a 3m trip in March.

ALPHA CRU arrives in top form as she sits on a hattrick chance. She is a quote of 11/4 to land the win* (betting odds recorded 17:56 GMT on September 1st 2021 at Ladbrokes).

She earned success at Pontefract 18 days ago to take her from forward. So she looks to have a big chance in this one.

TRUE SCARLET has won two of her last three and was impressive with a score in a Nottingham handicap three weeks ago.

She comes up 4lb in the ratings which gives her extra work to do. But she is clearly in a very good heart at the moment.

As for EVIDENT BEAUTY, she delivered a fantastic debut win and produced further form to take second in a minor even there on her latest in July.

Living Legend didn’t have the stamina to see out the race well, but that’s understandable and he should strip fitter.

WITHOUT A FIGHT won this contest twelve months ago. He has been in higher-class races than this recently, so this is a much easier contest for him.

AL ZARAQAAN looks reasonably well-handicapped so he could have a shout in this one.

His effort in the John Smith’s Cup didn’t work out last time out and is tried with the tongue strap. A notable piece of form was his win at Kempton in March.
