We have a nice big field to kick things off with in horse racing betting for Thursday.

CLONDAW STORM is the current 11/4 market leader* (betting odds recorded 23:13 GMT on Wednesday, 30th December 2020 at William Hill).

He put in a bold show on his last run, claiming a runner up place at Lingfield 35 days ago.

He is still looking to get off the mark, but that latest run suggests that he is not far away. There has only been a 1lb rise for him and he should be in the frame.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

LIGHT FLICKER should also be in the mix as well after scoring at Wetherby earlier this month. That was despite a 6lb rise that he had to deal with in that fixture.

But the manner of victory suggests that he is not done progressing yet and he takes a drop back to two miles.

That recent victory happened after a good second place at Exeter.

KHAIRAGASH is to be respected in this field as well. He has rattled off back to back second-place finishes in recent form.

There has been a 3lb rise for him after getting close at Bangor last time out. That was in a 20f handicap chase and Khairagash looks to be arriving in very good shape.

AUBUSSON is the 3/1 market leader at the moment for this veterans’ run* (betting odds recorded 23:13 GMT on Wednesday, 30th December 2020 at William Hill).

He arrives on the back of a good win on his latest run.

Aubusson marked a return from a three-month break with a 20f Lingfield Handicap win a month ago.

He stays with the same jockey for this next run as well. There has only been a small 2lb rise for him in the ratings.

This does appear to be a very wide-open field, however, but there are clear place claims on show for him.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

WESTERN CLIMATE had a tricky time of things on his reappearance as he just never got his jumping flowing freely.

He made a fair few mistakes in taking a fourth-place finish on that season opener, which was here at Warwick.

More will be expected of him this time around and the slower ground is likely to play into his hands.

Western Climate has the staying power to close this out and is a 7/1 shot* (betting odds recorded 23:13 GMT on Wednesday, 30th December 2020 at William Hill).

SOLSTICE STAR was in great form at Cheltenham on his latest run. That was a very strong contest and Solstice Star made a lot of the running in that one before fading out over the hurdles.

He gets the cheekpieces back on for this switch over to chasing again. He has had a 10-week break since then.

This is an exciting fixture and FOX DUTY FREE is the strong 11/10 market leader at the moment in horse racing betting* (betting odds recorded 23:13 GMT on Wednesday, 30th December 2020 at William Hill). He is likely to be the one to beat.

He recently won a handicap here in a field of eight, his second score this year.

That was a 7f trip and the extra trip here on Thursday is likely to pull even more from Fox Duty Free. That’s two back to back runs here at Lingfield and two wins.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

CROWNTHORPE looks the biggest threat to the favourite in this fixture.

He was just edged out by a neck earlier this month and he goes from only 3lb higher.

So that means that he shouldn’t be far away from getting right into the thick of this. That recent run was at Newcastle earlier this month so he is fit.

WAR GLORY looks the best of the rest for this small field.

He hasn’t won any of his last 13 runs but was third at Chelmsford City last time out.

That was three weeks ago and that should be enough to see War Glory bring some place claims at least to proceedings.

This is one of the longer contests of the day for our look at horse racing betting.

MR WASHINGTON is the current 15/8 favourite* (betting odds recorded 23:13 GMT on Wednesday, 30th December 2020 at William Hill).

He has been right on top of his game this season, as he easily completed a hattrick on his last run.

That was on a 3m trip at Ludlow (handicap) a month ago. There has been a 7lb rise for him but there does appear to be plenty more to come.

Mr Washington has looked stellar since moving to join Tom Symonds and the 7-year-old sets the standard in this race.

URTHEONETHATIWANT is worth a look as well. He scored a win in this fixture last season and he is 6lb since then.

But he is expected to be back in the frame to push for a double in the race.

That’s after a good showing to claim third place at Ludlow last month on his latest run. He also carries a 7lb conditional. There was plenty to build on.

LITTLE BOY BORU is interesting as well. He looked as if he needed his reappearance run under his belt.

That was at Kempton last month, but he shaped well enough to suggest that there is more to come.

Back at Huntingdon in March, Little Boy Boru got close to a score in a very similar contest.

An interesting sprint here and QUEEN’S COURSE is the current 7/4 market leader* (betting odds recorded 23:13 GMT on Wednesday, 30th December 2020 at William Hill).

There has been wonderfully consistent form from the filly this season.

It has been two wins in her last three runs, just missing out on a hattrick last time out.

The Queen’s Course took second in that minor event over course and distance 12 days ago. She never got close enough to the winner.

But Queen’s Course is expected to put in another strong effort here on her return. The last win that she picked up was at the venue earlier this month.

BOMA GREEN warrants some respect in this contest. He gets the visor on for the first time after a good showing last time out at Kempton.

That was on a 1-mile effort at Kempton so takes a little drop in the distance for this run. Boma Green is on the up and the moment and should be close.

The other obvious selection will be AMBER ISLAND who collected a win at Wolverhampton earlier this month. I

n carrying a 7lb conditional in Laura Pearson, Amber Island looks primed to push on for more.

That was easily a career-best effort in getting that Wolverhampton score last time out (24 days ago).

He picked up a win in November on his penultimate run and will be looking to tap back into that form.

Gars Bar Dine was a beaten favourite on his follow up, which was back at Fontwell where he had gotten off the mark.

He’s being well-backed early on for this trip but doesn’t appear to be the greatest quote and there are better options elsewhere we feel.

Back in August he rediscovered his winning touch and has gone close a couple of times since.

He was in the frame at Southwell on his most recent effort, which was earlier this month. He has enough to get there.

The other selection for the shortlist SKIPPING ON who is strongly rated. He has had two solid runs under his belt for this campaign.

The most recent of those was a second-place finish at Hexham. The veteran looks to be showing some early season renewed form and therefore place claims could be there.
