Today’s horse racing tips are all national hunt picks as we make our selections from Ludlow and Taunton.

One of the big highlights of the day is the Forbra Gold Cup Handicap Chase from Ludlow at 14:05 which features a very competitive field.

The 10/3 market leader for this mares’ handicap hurdle effort at Ludlow is DIDONATO* (betting odds recorded 18:24 GMT on Wednesday 3rd March 2021 at William Hill).

Alan King’s mare has been on the up this season. Last season she was well in the frame in three bumper efforts.

It’s been a nice solid start over the hurdles, claiming a second-place finish at Huntingdon on her debut in this sphere.

Didonato then followed up with a win at Doncaster. She moves up to the 3m trip and should be big right there in the mix.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

WILD SPIRIT is worth a look for this fixture. She was recently out in a very similar course and distance run in which she performed well.

There was a second-place finish for her in that effort, but that was her 16th effort without a win. But there are place claims for her in this fixture.

The other to watch is BOURBON BEAUTY who has found some very consistent form this season. He got off the mark in this sphere at Kelso in December.

She followed that up with a third-place effort at Warwick in December which may have been a tad too soon.

The Nicky Henderson-trained Valtor hasn’t been at his very best this season at all. He had shaped well in his reappearance but failed to get anywhere near a win.

The following two follow-up efforts were below average at best so we think that the 12-year-old can be opposed.

CALIPSO COLLONGES could be the way to go in this one at 9/2* (betting odds recorded 18:24 GMT on Wednesday 3rd March 2021 at William Hill).

Four weeks ago on his latest effort, he was third in an effort at Sandown continuing some decent form this season.

He has been knocking around in stiff contests this year.

But there was an ease in class for him at Sandown a month ago and he is now on a very workable mark.

With a 3lb conditional, Calipso Collonges should be in with a chance.

The other option for the shortlist is ROCCO and has been back at his usual level when he earned second place at Kempton on his penultimate run, which was in November.

He was moved up to the 3m trip following that and he never quite settled back at that same venue, so he’s tried again at this trip.

The race favourite for this fixture is GLORY AND HONOUR at 3/1* (betting odds recorded 18:24 GMT on Wednesday 3rd March 2021 at William Hill).

He just missed out on a hat-trick on his latest effort but has been in superb shape this season. He picked up a win at Huntingdon in a maiden hurdle in November.

Then to kick off the new year Glory And Honor win at Lingfield in a jumpers bumper.

He was back for another on his latest in a Newbury jumpers bumper when he was third in a big field.

The form is there and it would be no surprise to see Glory And Honour pushing close for the win.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ONE FOR YOU looks to be on a very good mark to launch a bold bit in his one for trainer Phillip Hobbs.

There is bound to be more improvement from him in the handicapping after showing some good progress in this campaign.

The tongue tie goes on for the first time and can have a say.

ROYAL PRETENDER is another to watch and keep on the side for the shortlist. There were a couple of keen openers in maiden hurdles in the autumn from him.

He collected a jumpers bumper win last month after what had been a below-par effort at Doncaster in January. Royal Pretender has enough to make his presence felt.

SILENT MAN is the 2/1 market favourite for horse racing betting in this fixture* (betting odds recorded 18:24 GMT on Wednesday 3rd March 2021 at William Hill).

He is seeking to complete a hattrick after scoring on his debut for his new yard at Ffos Las.

That was a comfortable effort from him, which he followed up on.

That second win came at Lingfield. All that has combined to see him jump up 13lb in the rating, but is carrying a 7lb claimer.

There’s still plenty of scope for him as his recent wins have happened by wide margins. Silent Man should be close.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

DENTLEY DE MEE looks a threat to the favourite after making up 4lb for a win at Wincanton on his late effort.

There are comfortable place claims at least from him as he should be in the mix, looking like one of the better ones in this fixture.

He’s been in the frame well enough in each of his last five.

MARBLE MOON could be the other name to watch for the shortlist. He was not at his jumping best last time out in an effort at Ludlow.

That was back in November so is coming back fresh and the tongue strap goes on for the first time.

He could scrap it well for potentially the silver medal in this contest as we are going with the favourite.

There was a second-place finish for him last time out when he was at Hereford in December. He was well clear of everyone else behind him.

So that should put him in good stead to get close again in this one.

Black Centaur’s yard is in form at the moment and the 1lb rise in the ratings is not likely to slow up his progress.

KENDELU it is that gets the nod from us at 6/1 as our horse racing tip for today* (betting odds recorded 18:24 GMT on Wednesday 3rd March 2021 at William Hill).

He has had a great season, winning three times in the autumn.

He did have a blip on his final effort of 2020 but was immediately back to his best on his reappearance, taking a third-place at Hereford in January.

IT’S FOR ALAN piques a little interest here as he is now 6lb down on his last winning mark.

That victory was early last season at Fontwell, so it’s been a while.

There have been a couple of promising runs from It’s For Alan this season, claiming a second place on his penultimate fixture.

She did pick up a win earlier this season, which was at Fakenham on her chasing debut in October.

There hasn’t been much to follow on since then.

In fact, Jubilympics was a little off colour with a sixth-place finish over course and distance on her last effort.

That was just over a month ago, so she needs to bounce back to something better.

WAIKIKI WAVES could be the answer here at 4/1* (betting odds recorded 18:24 GMT on Wednesday 3rd March 2021 at William Hill).

He is a player who enjoys coming into action fresh.

He scored a win on his penalty run, a good score at Leicester in a handicap chase in November.

The follow up was poor, finishing well down the field at Huntingdon, but is positioned well in the weights and the fresh factor could be key for him.

Waikiki Waves’ yard is well in form at the moment as well.

LUCKOFTHEDRAW warrants some respect off a reduced mark. He is a decent enough chaser but has yet to find his range at all this season.

He had a freshen up a month ago when he was sent off in a jumpers bumper when he was only sixth.

But a return to chasing could shake him into life.
