He has been running without the headgear this season, which has been a little strange. But he has been picking up his form.

It was a second place finish for him last time out when finishing sandwiched between two at Beverley, who have both since gone on to win.

The other big threat is DUBAI STATION who stepped forward on his latest effort for his new yard. That was a runner-up spot at Hamilton in a minor event 10 days ago.

He should be right in the thick of this here and this race is likely to come down to those two. The most likely to disrupt that is going to be DANZENO.

Earlier this year he picked up a win at course and distance and he looked to be back in form on his latest run as well.

Bowman claimed a third palace finish in a handicap at this distance a couple of weeks ago. He could have a good time back at Lingfield.

IVASECRET is interesting as he will be running under a 6lb penalty. That’s because of a win on Saturday at the course and distance.

The quick turnaround and penalty could combine to slow him up a little and that’s why preference is for Bowman.

EXCEL POWER has been gelded since his last run, which was 55 days ago at Ripon.

He has won half of his six runs this season, including here at Linfield. Excel Power has a chance in this one, especially if the op has helped.

That’s because he shook off a sluggish season to hit top form last time out. There was a win for Well Prepared two months ago here at Lingfield.

There has only been a 2lb rise for him for that success and if he can build on that kind of performance then he should get close.

The form of PORTERINTHEJUNGLE can’t be ignored here, having won three times this year. She completed a hattrick five days ago, picking up a handicap win at Brighton.

She warrants respect as she looks for further success. The form of NEZAR puts him in the frame as well for this one. There was a good fourth at Windsor from him a month ago.

This is a wide-open contest one of the frontrunners is likely to be YAGOOD.

He is thriving right now and the handicapper has been lenient with him after winning 12 days ago here at Nottingham.

It’s a 5lb rise that Yagood has to deal with on Tuesday, but there will be a bigger demand on him as he comes up in class.

On a return to the turf though, we are siding with GENTLEMAN AT ARMS for a 14/1 each-way option as racing tip* (betting odds recorded 16:51 GMT on 9th August 2021 at William Hill).

He looks to be on a good, fair mark, good enough to make a challenge in this one. Gentleman At Arms is a consistent performer and should be in this.

Another with good current form is BAILARICO who has been in the frame in his last two.

She’s not to be taken lightly as she has looked in top form and is clearly thriving for her yard at the moment.

BELLEVARDE who is the current joint 9/4 favourite is the other big player in this* (betting odds recorded 16:51 GMT on 9th August 2021 at William Hill).

There was a victory at Windsor last time out for her, 8 days ago on a 5f trip. Bellevarde will be under a 4lb penalty for that success and will probably carry on in good form.

It is a little hard to see anyone else in the field breaking up the pair and pulling off an upset.

LATIN FIVE is probably the best of the rest here. He is down 4lb for a rare poor performance at Beverley a couple of weeks ago.

Shamarouski returned then a month ago with a course and distance third place finish.

On the back of that, he warrants some respect on a return to the venue. This handicap looks wide open, however.

Also with claims is REBEL REDEMPTION who is a good consistent performer. The switch back to the turf has helped him.

There was a recent third-place finish for Rebel Redemption at Ayr and that suggests he could be in this.

SECRET POTION is another to watch for the shortlist. There was a good success for him in a big field at Lingfield 10 days ago.
