The race favourite for this contest is AJERO who completed a hattrick last time in action.

He got that win at Market Rasen on what was his first run following a wind op.

So Ajero continues to head in the right direction and that was his handicap debut last time out.

There appears to be a lot more to come from him and Kim Bailey’s 6-year-old could take some stopping in this small field.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

HAAFAPIECE looks the one most likely to pose a threat to the favourite. He is a course and distance winner, delivering the goods at C&D last season.

He has continued in good heart this season in defeat. Two weeks ago he was third at Wetherby and should go well again.

SCARLET DRAGON has a first go in national hunt for well over a year. He was sharp over the flat in between all of that and he did win a listed handicap hurdle in 2019.

SOFIA’S ROCK was eighth 17 days ago on a return to action. That was at Newbury when he was well held. Will that have sharpened him up for a better go this time around?

We have a big field to look through in this one. The current 11/4 favourite is MIDNIGHT MARY* (betting odds recorded 18:43 GMT on Monday, 22nd March at Betway).

She is looking to secure a double after a win at course and distance just 16 days ago.

That was just the second handicap run that she had and it was in a field of 17 as well.

The tongue tie helped in that one and it is retained, so there should be more to come from Midnight Mary.

CANDY LOU is not to be written out of this contest after a course victory on her most recent effort.

That was last week and even though there is a 7lb penalty that she will be dealing with, she looks to be well-positioned in the weights as she comes up on the trip.

She was third at Taunton on her latest effort and that was a 3m handicap effort. That was the handicap debut for Sound Of Music.

There was a victory for him last time out when he landed a debut score over the hurdles in a novice’ event at Sedgefield.

That win was last month and form from it has been franked. Now Democratic Oath steps into handicapping for the first time and should have plenty to offer.

POP THE CORK has plenty of potential if he brings his top form to the table in this one. He has been below his best in his last two.

But if there is a bounce-back performance to come then he can get the picture.

In December he was second from this mark at Uttoxeter. Last February he was second at Warwick to Ask Himself.

Copperless will have the tongue tie on for the first time as he returns to action. Further progress will be expected from the six-year-old.

Going for last year’s winning connections in this contest is JOHN CONSTABLE.

He is at the same mark as he was when he took third at Exeter on his latest effort. That was two weeks ago.

That’s back to back place finishes for John Constable now and he looks to have a good chance of getting back in the frame.

MISS M could have a say in this one and delivered a win in her first two goes over the hurdles. So there is potential there.

She was fourth in a novice at Sedgefield 6 months ago, which race probably came too soon for her.

He is seeking a hattrick but he will have to defy a penalty to get that completed.

It is a 7lb penalty that he has to deal with but he stays with his regular jockey Kane Yeoman who has guided him to success in the last two.

Those wins for Road Warrior were at Sedgefield and Newcastle. The latest of those was three days ago, so as long as that is not too soon for him, he could go well.

SUNNY EXPRESS is our horse racing tip at 4/1* (betting odds recorded 18:43 GMT on Monday, 22nd March at Betway).

He is coming back down in trip in this one after a good fifth-place finish at Taunton over a 23f trip last time out.

That followed a very good chase debut at Musselburgh. So there is likely a lot more that he can bring to the table.

ROXBORO ROAD took a win at Musselburgh on his latest effort which was three weeks ago. There is an 8lb rise in the ratings for him.

But there looks to be plenty of room still in the handicapping for him to work with. On the back of that, he needs to go down on the shortlist.

He has been away from the action for four months now.

But he has a chance coming back refreshed to put in a big effort. The seven-year-old needs plenty of respect.

DENTLEY DE MEE has plenty to offer as well in this kind of fixture.

He was well in the picture on his latest run, which was here at Taunton and it was another excellent effort from him in this sphere.

After opening his account at Wincanton on his penultimate run, he poses a threat.

HIDDEN CHARMER was third behind Dentley De Mee on his comeback run, which was here at Taunton.

But a mistake likely cost him that victory, but he can’t be ruled out of this contest here as he was close up on runner-up in that race, Dentley de Mee.
