Today’s horse racing tips are once again a mix of national hunt and flat racing as we look at three racecards for the day.
The jumps action is from Hereford while the flat, both handicaps and stakes action comes from Lingfield and Newcastle.
It’s all lower-class stuff, but here are the best of today’s horse racing tips for Tuesday, 4th January 2021.

IMPERIAL COMMAND makes his return hoping for better than his latest effort which was three weeks ago in a Kempton handicap.
Imperial Command finished second from last in that one, but it was a run that never suited him. There is course and distance success in his history.
LIGHTENING COMPANY claimed a win on his debut in May and has followed up well in two efforts since then.
He arrives on Tuesday after the back-to-back runner-up spot finishes.
The latter of those was at the course and distance 70 days ago and could well pose a threat.
STAR SHIELD could be putting together a strong challenge as well and he is a former course and distance winner.
The latest of his Newcastle successes was in November. He went close back at C&D two weeks ago, beaten only by a good one.

THREE PLATOON may prove to be the one to beat on the day as he looks to follow up a score at Wolverhampton two weeks ago.
There was plenty to spare in that win as well for Three Platoon.
There have been a big recent improvements from him so he should be involved.
RIGGSBY came up 3lb after a course and distance win just over three weeks ago. He stuck to his job very well in that one.
He’s unexposed still, but if he can back up that recent effort there doesn’t look to be any reason why he can’t be involved once again.
MUKHA MAGIC has taken a runner-up spot in each of his last three runs and it is probably not long before he gets his nose in front.
He ran well at Southwell two weeks ago, putting in a late challenge. Mukha Magic should give a good account of himself once again.

PORFIN should have a big chance in this sprint. He will be under a 5lb penalty on Tuesday after scoring at Wolverhampton just five days ago.
That’s two wins for Porfin in his last three and he will be at a shorter distance for this one. Porfin rates as a big danger in this field.
SWORD EXCEED has a good track record at Lingfield having won four times before at the venue.
There was a credible effort from him at Chelmsford City a month ago in a handicap and he retains the gear, so could get close.
THEGREYVTRAIN looks like the other reasonable shortlist contender in this field and she is a former course and distance winner.
That C&D success happened in March and while she isn’t the most reliable, temperament has been a little better as of late.

METAL MAN should give a good account of himself as he looks to be progressing pretty well for his year.
Metal Man was last seen three weeks ago to take a decent fourth-place finish in a field of 10 at Wolverhampton.
DENABLE was well backed at Southwell last time out and claimed a second-place finish in that contest.
He is still looking to get off the mark and he was pulling left in that latest run.
Denable looks capable of putting something positive together.
DOLLY MCQUEEN has been selling hurdles events the last twice on a 2m trip.
So she can handle the trip well enough. She looks to be in decent enough shape to pose a threat to this field.
HANNALITE is another that can’t be taken too lightly in this contest, which looks fairly wide open.
She has been in the frame in each of her last three runs.
There was a good third for Hannalite at the course and distance 35 days ago, just lacking a little bit of finishing pace.

LOCH GARMAN ARIS has won the last twice. The first of those was in a Bangor Chase in the summer, before following up there later the same month from a 5lb rise in the ratings.
Loch Garman Aris has to defy this break of more than six months, but if he is sharp from the off then makes for a reasonable proposition in horse racing betting.
JERMINNIE GREEN was a winner on her penultimate run. That was Chetpsow on her chasing debut.
There wasn’t a repeat performance from her on a follow up at Warwick.
But with the cheekpieces going on for the first time, Jerminnie Green warrants respect.
IVILNOBLE put together a good effort at Fontwell just nine days ago. That was a big effort of improved form.
He’s stuck on one win in fifteen previous chase efforts, but there were encouraging signs from him last time out.
FELTON BELLEVUE was a runner up at Market Rasen on his latest run, which followed a finish in the same position at Hereford.
He hasn’t quite put an entire cohesive race together, but if he gets it right on the day, then Felton Bellevue can get involved.

13:45 Hereford Handicap Hurdle Horse Racing Tip

MR WASHINGTON hsa remained in form for a long time now and should be back in the frame again.
He was second at Uttoxeter on his latest, which was a month ago. That was a superb run in a hot contest.
Mr Washington has won four of his last six efforts now and has been impressive over the hurdles with more likely to come.
SCARPIA took a second-place finish on his handicap debut at Ascot. That was 18 days ago in which he stayed on well.
Scarpia comes up on a trip for Tuesday’s action and looks to build on his hurdle win in March in a Fontwell novice.
ART OF DIPLOMACY is a former flat winner and looked to be well in the frame when he went on his handicap debut on his penultimate run.
A fall at the final jump tripped him up, likely denying him a win.
But he followed up by getting a score on his to follow up at Ludlow for a new yard.
