The race favourite for this mares’ novice is FORTUNES MELODY at a strong 1/4 quote* (betting odds recorded 18:00 GMT on Monday, 8th February 2021 at Betfred).
Filly Fortunes Melody will have her first run for Harry Fry in this one and she has produced some great form this season.
Her last race was a Grade 2 fixture at Auteuil in which she rattled off a second-place finish in finish style.
She easily sets the standard in this one and was a Listed winner back in September.
UK Racing Odds & Tips
Just in case the red-hot favourite is not quite up to speed on the day, we need to look at other options.
WILDERNESS was a good flat performer and she hasn’t been in action since a Naas fixture at 1m 4f.
She will be making her jumps debut here and is worth keeping an eye on.
The other for the shortlist is GLASHA’S PEAK.
On her first run for her new yard, she took a credible third-place finish from 10/1 in a novice hurdle at Fontwell.

There was a second-place finish for him on his latest run, sticking in there well at Hereford last month. That was on a shorter 2m 5f trip.
On the two efforts which he has completed over the fences this season, Orrisdale has looked pretty good. There is a 4lb rise for him now and should be on the shortlist.
UK Racing Odds & Tips
CUBAN PETE saw his chance of a hattrick go begging on his last effort.
That was a Newbury on a 26f trip just over a month ago.
He wasn’t disgraced off this revised mark at all.
So we expect a slightly stronger effort from Cuban Pete as he looks to add to his handicap chase wins at Stratford and Hereford.

BROADCLYST is a useful runner in this sphere.
He looked good on his penultimate run when he took a second-place finish over course and distance in December.
His follow up run at Wincanton was below that effort, so needs a little bit of a bounce-back performance as he comes down in trip.

It has been two fourth-place finishes for Amarillo Sky over the hurdles this season.
He didn’t really look at it on the latest of those which was 81 days at Ascot when a little more was expected of him.
Amarillo Sky comes into handicapping now for the first time and he’s worth keeping an eye on as he looks to be on a fair mark.

PYRAMID PLACE took a win on his latest effort which was at course and distance 17 days ago.
So he needs to be respected for this contest. There has been an 8lb rise in the rating for him but we would expect another strong effort from him.

SONG OF THE HUNTER is the other for the shortlist in this contest. He is with a new yard for this one.
He is a former course and distance winner though and he put in a credible run to take third place at Hereford a month ago.
Song of The Hunter needs a bit of a lift and the change of yard could do the trick.

He has been knocking on the door recently with three straight runners-up finishes to his name. He has only gone up 1lb as well so he should stay competitive.
Goldencard hasn’t won since 2019 (thirteen races) but he hasn’t looked too far away from breaking that streak.

EARLY DAYS gets the hood on for the first time. There was a solid fourth from her on his latest trip, which was at Plumpton on a 2m 1f trip last month
. That was her chase debut and she could have something more to offer following that experience.
HOT SMOKED is the other one to consider for the shortlist in this fixture.
The low mileage chaser did have a good run here last March when she was third over two miles.
She has had a trip this year, which resulted in her pulling up, but she still brings reasonable claims to the table.

He has continued strongly this year and broke a run of near misses by collecting a score at Chelmsford City 18 days ago.
That was a comfortable win that Thai Terrier banked as well over Alfredo, who he opposes in this one.
This is the first time on the fibresand for him and he goes right on the shortlist.

ARTISTIC STREAK is good on the fibresand having won three of five trips before.
Two of those were C&D scores as well. The last victory that she took was here and since then she has had a trip in a bumper.
She is definitely an interesting player in this field.

He picked up a win on his latest effort, which was here 12 days ago. That was in a smaller field and on a shorter trip as well.
But he looked good on the fibresand.

There was a second palace finish for him on his last run, which was 10 days ago. While he didn’t pick up the score, he was well clear of the rest.
There should be a little improvement from him to come still and he has to be back in the frame.
UK Racing Odds & Tips
GLOBAL VISION should be a player in this one. He won at Newcastle back in December. He is up 3lb in the ratings from that score.
His follow up was a poor effort from him on his latest trip at Newcastle 19 days ago, but place claims should be there.
The other selection is ANDALASKA BEAR who likes a trip on the fibresand. She was here last month and went very well here three weeks ago.
She comes into her handicap debut on this one on a good mark.
