JOHN CONSTABLE is the narrow favourite for this handicap hurdle at 10/3* (betting odds recorded 17:48 GMT on Monday, 8th March 2021 at Coral).

There was a second-place finish for him last time out which just confirmed that he retains the ability for better things. But he is winless since 2017 now.

It’s between two place efforts from five runs this season and he’s missing the score.

He should be in the mix but that lack of winning touch will be frustrating supporters by now.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

So our horse racing betting tip is PASLEY in what is a really difficult field to call.

PASLEY is a 9/2 quote for the fixture* (betting odds recorded 17:48 GMT on Monday, 8th March 2021 at Coral). He collected a good solid third last time out in January at Warwick for his new yard.

MAKETY is another good selection for this. She was in the frame on her last hurdle effort which was in July last year at Southwell.

That was after six months off the track and she will have a run for a new yard today. She’s handled coming back fresh and the new yard shake-up could see her contend.

The current 11/4 market favourite for this one is AYE AYE CHARLIE* (betting odds recorded 17:48 GMT on Monday, 8th March 2021 at Coral).

He has had two good efforts this season, opening with a runner up spot on his reappearance. That was also his first attempt since a wind op.

Aye Aye Charlie followed that up with a third-place at Newcastle on a slightly shorter trip in November. He hasn’t won for a couple of years, but has some appeal coming back from a break.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ZYON is our pick at 4/1 as a horse racing betting tip* (betting odds recorded 17:48 GMT on Monday, 8th March 2021 at Coral).

On his reappearance run, he did a fantastic job in scoring at Wincanton in a novice hurdle. That was after 13 months away from the action. He totally underperformed around Ascot on his follow up, but he is well worth revisiting.

LORD NAPIER is another that didn’t perform on his most recent run. He was at Haydock on poor ground and Lord Napier was just too keen at the start and the race fell apart.

In the race before that, however, he was a very good runner up at Chepstow in December and looked good in chasing for the first time there. A better race plan than last time and he could be right there.

SHATTERED GLASS is the 11/4 favourite for this trip* (betting odds recorded 17:48 GMT on Monday, 8th March 2021 at Coral).

After opening the season with a fifth-place finish on his first go over the fences (also his first since a wind op), he then improved on his next run at Market Rasen.

Shattered Glass was second on that Market Rasen trip over a 3m trip.

There is a 3lb rise for him based on that and that looks fair and he should have a big say in this contest.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

Our pick for the race is SANDFORD CASTLE who continues to look in great heart.

He shrugged off his maiden tag in December when he landed a Taunton Chase.

He has since followed up with excellent efforts in defeat here at Exeter and at Chepstow.

It’s hard to not see him getting in the picture and Sandford Castle is our 7/2 horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 17:48 GMT on Monday, 8th March 2021 at Coral).

WRITEINTHESAND looks to be another strong player in this field. He opened the season with a chasing debut when he was fighting at Market Rasen.

That was in October at Market Rasen and wasn’t a bad effort considering it was his reappearance.

Writeinthesand did pull up at Hereford next time out but looks to have a lot of potential on the side.

SHE’SASUPERMACK is the 9/4 favourite for this next handicap chase* (betting odds recorded 17:48 GMT on Monday, 8th March 2021 at Coral).

She is a really strong player here getting her second chase success on the board in December. Both of her chase wins have been at Newcastle.

She’saspermack was fourth at Uttoxeter on her latest run, which was just a couple of weeks ago.

That was a respective effort in her strongest field yet. She steps up on the trip again and is likely to feature.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

GLITTERING LOVE has put in a couple of respectable efforts this season. He hasn’t been at the form that was in the 2018/19 campaign when he won all four stars.

But he has been in the frame at Ayr on his two runs for this season, the most recent was a fourth-place finish over 3m on heavy ground in December.

DINGO DOLLAR gets the tongue tie on for the first time as well as keeping the cheekpieces on. He hasn’t been in the greatest of form from his two runs this season.

Dingo Dollar is coming into action for the first time for a new yard here and he’s on a good mark if the switch pulls something out of him.

He is not to be dismissed in his contest despite not running to the best effect at Hereford last time out. That was on his handicap debut.

It was a fourth-place finish that he took there and there were definitely excuses to be had, so he may be worth considering again.

SIMPLY LOVELEH scored a good chase in August at Uttoxeter.

She has been well held since then, however, so the switch back to the hurdles could help see her return to his best.

It has been a rough ride over the bigger stuff but she is on an appealing mark to put a bold run down.

His last effort was poor as he was well down the field.

Iolani is now back after a break of 106 days and is coming back down in trip to the 2m marks. So he could well feature.

On his penultimate run, Molly Carew claimed a win at Taunton which was a big bounce back to top form. He couldn’t follow up.

He lost his rider at the second on a tough 3m trip at Exeter in a chase effort.

That was in Listed company where he was trusted enough. A clear run and she should be well in the picture.

GIPSY LEE ROSE hasn’t been far away from getting a score on the board this season at all.

She has changed her headgear with the visor going on for the first time.

She has been in the frame in each of her last four runs and was a nice close third at Ayr last time out so there is plenty of appeal there from 11/4* (betting odds recorded 17:48 GMT on Monday, 8th March 2021 at Coral).

The other for the shorts is LEVEROCK LASS who got off the mark over the fences on her penultimate run. That was at Wetherby in December.

She went back there for a follow-up and didn’t quite discover the same form. But she’s good enough to bounce back and place claims are there.
