MY ASTRA had a very positive introduction last summer with back to back victories in a maiden and then a novice.

Connections quickly moved her up to the Listed level and My Astra took a runner up on the first attempt which was over in France.

On her reappearance, the Lope De Vegas filly claimed a third-place finish on a 1m trip at Kempton a month ago.

My Astra looks like being a very big player in this contest and should be right there.

ANGEL POWER is another that is likely to get heavily involved in proceedings, although she needs a revival.

2021 didn’t pan out quite as well for her as the previous year had done.

Angel Power had won a couple of pattern company contests as a 3-year-old.

But there was a decent run from Angel Power three weeks ago when she wasn’t far away at Nottingham in a Listed run.

It hinted that she may be back on the up.

ACHELOIS was a runner up at Epsom on her latest at this distance a month ago.

That was a fine effort after a break.

Achelois was coming along very well last season, consistently getting in the frame and taking her tally to three with a score at Goodwood in the summer.

THE BLUE BRILLIANT is another to keep an eye on in this fascinating contest.

She was an excellent filly as a 3-year-old and amidst her progress, The Blue Brilliant landed a runner up spot in a Group 3.

The Blue Brilliant did struggle a bit on a couple of handicap efforts at the end of the campaign, but she’s back refreshed and this trip could be right for her.

Tip: MY ASTRA 9/4

Ones to watch: Achelois 3/1, Angel Power 11/4

PERCY’S WORD sets the standard in this one and looks as if he is going to be hard to beat.

That is even with a 7lb rise after scoring at course and distance last week.

This is not a particularly strong field that he is facing on Wednesday.

So after that impressive win at Worcester, Percy’s Word looks to have a huge chance of following up quickly.

MISS HERITAGE looks the best of the rest as this is much calmer waters for her than she faced in the Swinton last time out.

That Haydock run didn’t pan out for her at all 11 days ago.

However, back in January, she won a hot Grade 2 Mares’ contest at Doncaster and she’s a good reliable sort.

BEYOND THE CLOUDS is the final selection for the shortlist for this small field.

Her reappearance was nothing much to write home about, taking a sixth-place finish over the hurdles at Sandown last month.

But she was red hot early last season and that reappearance run should have gotten her back on track.

Tip: PERCY’S WORD 5/6

Ones to watch: Miss Heritage 9/2, Beyond The Clouds 7/1

LEAPAWAY took a good runner up finish at Chepstow a month ago, which was on his first run in ten months.

The win was beyond him as he was toppled by the excellent Sebastopol.

Leapway had been a 40/1 SP in that contest. Should he build on that then there could be a chance for him.

DOLOS is of interest although he is not the easiest to catch right, especially away from Sandown.

Back in February, he claimed a win at the venue.

Dolos was well off-colour at Aintree last month but is from a top yard that’s in form and this is a much easier assignment for him.

SIR TRIVO is the final selection for the shortlist as he looks to get back on track after losing his rider at Kempton a couple of weeks ago.

Sir Tivo had been travelling very nicely in that contest.

He has been fantastic over the fences and with his yard in form too, can’t be written off.

Tip: SIR TIVO 9/2

Ones to watch: Dolos 6/1, Sleepaway 11/4

HILLVIEW is bang in form at the moment and likely to be the one to beat in this handicap hurdle.

He is seeking a hattrick after a couple of easy wins last month. There has been another rise for him, this time 6lb.

The last of the wins for Hillview was at Stratford when he just had way too much of a finish for anyone else to handle.

STARSKY is the big contender to the favourite in his race after taking a runner up at Stratford in a novice hurdle last month.

He has banked a victory at Warwick before.

Starsky comes up a fair way in distance in this one and looks like he could give a good account of himself.

PRESENTING YEATS is an interesting one here as he is 2lb out of the weights.

There has been some excellent form from the former course and distance winner.

He was fifth on his reappearance at Newton Abbot a month ago.

Tip: HILLVIEW 15/8

Ones to watch: Starsky 5/1, Presenting Yeats 9/1

MAYSONG should be one of the main contenders in this one as he has been in very good form recently.

Granted it has been a while since he has scored but he was close eight days ago at Chepstow in a big field.

Maysong stays at the same weight and should be set for another good run.

KATS BOB was a winner at Hamilton 17 days ago and has some terrific form from his most recent efforts.

It has been three wins for Kats Bob in his last five. Another solid effort from him at Ayr is likely, having won at the venue before.

DEPUTY may be one to keep an eye on as he did a pretty good job with a runner up spot at Doncaster a couple of races ago.

That was at this 7f trip and he ran with credit there before going into a break for six months.

He had a reappearance run last month which he should be in better form and warrants consideration.

Tip: MAYSONG 9/2

Ones to watch: Deputy 8/1, Kats Bob 9/2

LULLABY BAY is in red hot form at the moment and she looks to be getting better and better all the time.

The move to handicapping has just seen her thrive, taking wins at Beverley and Thirsk at this minimum trip.

Lullaby Bay is therefore seeking a hat-trick and comes up 6lb for those recent successes.

She’s strong and can give another good account of herself in this competitive fixture.

FIREBOMB arrives with a recent win under his belt, having added to his tally with a score at Ripon.

That was the second success for him and both were under this jockey, a 7lb claimer.

Firebomb has only been moved up 2lb so is probably going to be involved.

SILKY WILKIE may be the way to go for place claims, and he is a stablemate of Lullaby Bay.

Silky Wilkie is a good colt who snapped a four-race sequence of runner up spots when he got off the mark at Beverley last autumn.

He’s been away since October but has been gelded and his stable is in form.

Tip: LULLABY BAY 13/8

Ones to watch: Firebomb 10/3, Silky Wilkie 6/1
