So that means we are split 50/50 between jumps action from the latter venue and the flat at Bath.

We kick off today’s horse racing tips with a look at this small field at Uttoxeter over the fences.

As can be seen from the market, each of these have a reasonable chance of scoring.

We just have to side with ZOFFEE on his reappearance at 6/4* (betting odds recorded 18:15 GMT on 31st August 2021 at William Hill).

He was last seen 149 days ago at Chepstow on a 2m trip. His form has been up and down, largely because you never know what kind of jumping performance you are getting for him.

Zoffee looked decent last Autumn but saw his form fall away. That could have been down to a bad tumble at Doncaster in March. Rested, he has claims.

VISION DES FLOS is arguably the best of the bunch, but he hasn’t looked at his sharpest this season at all.

He has come down further in the ratings and has looked fairly weak in the latter stages of recent efforts.

PASEO isn’t out of the mix as he’s on an appealing mark. This will be just his second go over the fences, as he switches over from the Hurdles.

Paseo last ran a month ago taking a fourth in a Worcester hurdle effort at this distance.

PILLAR OF STEEL is surely worth a look as a horse racing tip here at a quote of 3/1* (betting odds recorded 18:15 GMT on 31st August 2021 at William Hill).

She completed a hattrick record, and the middle success in that sequence was at course and distance. So she has to feature strongly again on a return.

Pillar Of Steel was last seen taking a credible fourth-place finish at Bangor just over a week ago. SEE THE SEA returns for the first time after a wind op.

She was at Stratford a month ago claiming a second-place finish, only narrowly getting touched off. See The Sea will likely be right in the thick of it and has a 10lb claimer to boot.

SID HOODIE won her latest, which was at Market Rasen in July. She comes up 6lb in the rating from that but still looks to have been given room by the handicapper.

FANTASTIC MS FOX did not complete a 2m hurdle effort at Stratford on her latest.

She pulled and now receives the cheekpieces in place of the hood for the first time.

We have a bigger field here to drive through for today’s horse racing tip.

At the head of the market, the 11/10 DUC DE BOURBON looks tough to oppose* (betting odds recorded 18:15 GMT on 31st August 2021 at William Hill).

He scored at Worcester last month to get off the mark and an impressive victory it was too. He scored by 10 lengths and didn’t get a penalty.

So now with the maiden broken, there should be more to come from the Paul Nicholls gelding. If he’s anywhere near the same mood, he should take this.

SIMPLY LOVELEH is a course and distance winner. He was going well at Bangor last month on his latest, in the mix to get his second win of the season.

That came unravelled as he fell three from home. But Simply Loveleh was travelling well and has place claims.

The other that warrants a look is SEABOROUGH who was last seen on the flat eight days ago. He took second place there, not having a particularly great run.

But Seaborough did stay on well on his last trip to Uttoxeter in June and with a 7lb claimer, isn’t to be taken lightly.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

There are few here with claims in this competitive handicap. Our 4/1 pick is TAJDID* (betting odds recorded 18:15 GMT on 31st August 2021 at William Hill).

He won at Salisbury in April and he returns now from having had wind surgery.

That may be enough to sharpen him up further as he was starting to struggle on his last two efforts. There’s no reason why Tajdid can’t get up for this on a bounceback performance.

ARTEMIS SKY was runner up a couple of weeks ago here at Bath. She kept on well enough there to suggest that the drop in class could see her get close on Thursday.

HIDDEN PEARL is the other to watch for the shortlist. She nearly broke her maiden at Yarmouth on her latest effort.

There has been excellent, consistent form by Hidden Pearl and she will likely make her presence felt.

This is wide open and we just have a preference for DREAMS UNWIND at 10/3* (betting odds recorded 18:15 GMT on 31st August 2021 at William Hill).

She has won two of her last four, so she has been from there. Her yard is also in good form at the moment.

Dreams Unwind scored at Musselburgh a month ago and comes up a manageable 4lb for that success. Mark Johnston’s filly can get involved.

SEA SYLPH may be worth revisiting after not having the run that she would have wanted on her handicap debut last time out.

It was a disappointing effort, but her novice form suggests that she can get things right. Sea Sylph comes up on a trip with a 5lb claimer to help.

Top weighted SQUELCH has strong claims for this effort. She was last seen at Brighton a month ago.

In that effort, Squelch was well in contention at the finish in a handicap, but had to settle for third. She is at the mark and therefore has to rate a considerable danger.

EAGLE’S FIRST warrants some respect on her handicap debut at a quote of 10/1* (betting odds recorded 18:15 GMT on 31st August 2021 at William Hill).

She comes up on a trip and gets cheekpieces on as well for the first time. She is a thrice-raced maiden, all on the flat.

Eagle’s First put in a credible effort at Ffos Las on her latest. She’s well-rested after a short break and could put things together.

ESSGEE NICS certainly rates as a danger here. He will be under a 4lb penalty after a score in a minor event at Wolverhampton a week ago.

He is a former course and distance winner as well and looks to be in good heart.

PLANSINA is also of interest for the shortlist in this big field. She too is a course and distance winner.

She had a bad day at the office at course and distance a month ago, but she’s dropped back to a very appealing mark.
