Today’s Horse Racing Tips & Odds – Wednesday, 20th January 2021

Today’s horse racing tips have six selections for the day and those are being made from three of the day’s four meetings.

Our horse racing tips come from Chepstow, Newbury and Southwell so it’s the jumps and flat that we are looking at.

The feature race of the day for our UK Racing Odds & Tips is the Iron Lady Mares’ Handicap Chase from Chepstow.

Race Favourite

The current race favourite for this Chepstow is NIGHTBOATTOCLYRO at 11/4* (betting odds recorded 19:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th January 2021 at William Hill).

He had his reappearance run for the season at Doncaster last month. That was also his first run for his new yard and duly scored over a 2m 1f trip in that one.

There was a course and distance win for him in December 2019 in a novice event.

The step back up in distance will suit him fine and Nightboattoclyro should be a big player.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

FIRST LORD DE CUET and been over longer trips in his last two runs and he performed well in both of those.

He was at a similar mark for both of those and therefore we expect him to be right there.

The drop in trip is a big factor for him and he is up 5lb for this one.

WEST TO THE BRIDGE comes into a much easier trip here and has big appeal at 4/1* (betting odds recorded 19:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th January 2021 at William Hill).

He scored a great win at Carlisle in November before not having enough to hold out on a 3m trip at Haydock.

He’s back at a good distance and coming down in class there are big claims.

Race Favourite

MEMPHIS BELLE is the race favourite at 3/1 for this contest* (betting odds recorded 19:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th January 2021 at William Hill).

She has been on some amazing form having just rattled off a four-timer. That was completed in October last year at Newton Abbot.

Memphis Bell is up 8lb in the ratings now but is exempted to come back fresh and sharp. Improvement is still expected of her and she could be hard to beat.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

LITTLE RED LION gets the blinkers on for the first time. He didn’t get things right at all on his last effort which was a shot at the hattrick over the fences.

The jumping form was all over the place, so connections are naturally turning to the blinkers. Coming back into hurdling Little Red Lion does pose a threat.

The other pick for the shortlist is LE TUEUR who stays at the same mark as he was for a handicap at Hereford just over a week ago.

That followed up a win on his handicap debut at Ffos Las. Le Tueur is heading in the right direction and there should be a bold effort from him.

Race Favourite

The current 10/3 market leader for this Newbury run is OURO BRANCO* (betting odds recorded 19:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th January 2021 at William Hill).

He is looking to complete a double after a nice score on his reappearance at Wincanton. That was on Boxing Day last year and Ouro Branco took on a 10lb rise for that success.

On the switch to the fences in the last campaign, he won two of three efforts in chasing.

So big things are expected of him again as he looks to rattle off a hattrick in what is a stiff test.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ONEFORHTEROADTOME had a reappearance at Ascot when he was 7th in November.

He should be a lot sharper as he comes back into action and he looks as if he has enough to get in the frame.

Onefortheroadtom did score at Fakenham at 3m on his final run of the previous campaign.

This is a good competitive and open handicap. FAGAN was third on his last effort which was at Ludlow in a chase last month.

He is still on a good enough mark where he should be entering the frame. There was a big promise from him in that last effort.

KAPGA DE LILY is the 15/8 favourite for his handicap effort at Chepstow* (betting odds recorded 19:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th January 2021 at William Hill).

There is a shot at a four-timer for Kapga De Lily in this one after some sparkling form in this campaign.

She gets a bump up of 6lb after dominating at Hereford last month.

That’s three wins from four for her over the fences now and the 8-year-old could be the one to beat in this fixture. There are very big claims from her.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

BALLYBOUGH NORA looks to be the biggest threat to the favourite here.

It has been back to back second-place efforts from her, so she has really been knocking on the door.

Both of those runs saw her beaten by Kapga De Lily at course and distance. Ballybough Nora should be thereabouts once again.

ANNIE DAY is a former point winner and made her chasing debut at Catterick last time out.

There was a good fifth-place finish from her on that one.

After not really showing too much over the hurdles, the move to the big stuff looks ideal based on that debut and this is a much better trip for her than Catterick was.

Race Favourite

The race favourite in this big field is RICHARDSON at 4/1* (betting odds recorded 19:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th January 2021 at William Hill).

There has been a big move up the weights for him as he is now 12lb up from a score at Uttoxeter in December.

He was well on top in that fixture in heavy conditions and the performance saw him get off the mark.

While he should be in the mix, that 12lb rise is a real leveller and it makes this a wide-open contest.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ALKOPOP made his reappearance at Fontwell last time out.

There was plenty to like about his effort as well as he took a third-place finish in that October race.

The lengthy lay off is perhaps a concern, as is him coming down on the trip. Place claims are there for Alkopop however.

Our preference is going to be for DAN GUN at 9/1* (betting odds recorded 19:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th January 2021 at William Hill).

He returned after a couple of months away, taking a good third at Stratford in that fixture. Dan Gun is now at a very workable mark and has a chance.

ZYLAN and REQUINTO DAWN are the joint 5/2 favourites* (betting odds recorded 19:19 GMT on Tuesday, 19th January 2021 at William Hill).

He scored on his penultimate run, which was his reappearance. Zylan is a five-time winner over course and distance.

But was a long way off the pace at C&D three days ago behind winner Requinto Dawn.

Requinto Dawn takes slight reference in this one under a 5lb penalty.

He is seeking a hattrick and he was keeping on well on that least effort which suggests that he may be able to shrug off that penalty.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ALMINOOR is very interesting in this field as he is coming down in grade. He may well be the one to set the pace.

He arrives on the back of a third-place finish in a Chelmsford City handicap 11 days ago.
