It is an amazing day of cards which we get to have to look over for today’s horse racing tips. There is the big Punchestown Gold Cup over in Ireland.

Ascot kicks off this week as well in the build up to Royal Ascot, with some trials being contested.

One of the big highlights of the day will be seeing if STRADIVARIUS can make a winning return to the venue.

The brilliant stayer goes in the Sagaro Stakes on his road to the Ascot Gold Cup.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This is the top race of the day from Ascot. The Sagaro Stakes features a strong favourite in the outright, with STRADIVARIUS at 4/6* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on April 27th 2021 at 888Sport).

He is the business when it comes to the staying division without question, and it’s been that way for a few years. But Stradivarius churned out a poor run last season.

On his final effort of the previous campaign Stradivarius was nowhere in the Long Distance Cup over course and distance.

Was that just too much too soon after an attempt at the Arc? Perhaps.

He’s refreshed now and on the road to the Ascot Gold Cup. The 7-year-old looks the way to go in this contest on his reappearance run.

He’s just too good to write off. The main threats in this field are the exciting NAYEFF ROAD, the winner of the 2019 edition and the rapidly improving OCEAN WIND.

We are going to have to stick with another Ascot favourite as a horse racing tip.

That will be SUPREMACY at 4/6* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on April 27th 2021 at 888Sport).

We can’t see him being taken down in this sprint. He was just in top class form in his juvenile season.

There were wins at the Richmond and in a at the Group 1 Middle Park for Supremacy last year.

That win at the Middle Park on a jump up in class was so impressive at Newmarket. As long as he is fit after this break, he is going to take some stopping.

There were a lot of strong players in the Middle Park and Clive Cox’s Supremacy accounted for them.

This field is not as deep, with the strongest looking challenges coming from MIGHTY GURKHA and SAINT LAWRENCE.

The waters are calmer in this one as we make HIGHLY SPRUNG our horse racing tip at 9/2* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on April 27th 2021 at 888Sport).

This actually looks like being a wide-open affair. Thanks to having had a reappearance run after six months ago, we expect Highly Strung to be in this.

That recent effort was a month ago at Doncaster and he looked as good as ever in defeat. Highly Sprung won this race in 2019 and is a six time course and distance winner.

With him sitting on a good mark, he looks as if he could be out some evenly matched rivals in TRIGGERED and the current market leader TRUE MASON.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

The horse racing tip in this one is going to be the 11/8 favourite HAQEEQY* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on April 27th 2021 at 888Sport).

He still looks to be on a steep upward curve of form after winning the Lincoln at Doncaster last month. There was good speed produced by him in that one.

Haqeeqy is coming up in level for this one, but does not immediately appear as if he is going to be out of his depth or anything.

The four year old is just stacked with potential. The firm ground may not be too much of an issue either. Haqeeqy won on stiff stuff at Yarmouth last summer.

Under the positive ride of Ben Curits, MARIE’S DIAMOND warrants a look as potentially the one to follow Haqeeqy home.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This is another of the day’s big spectacles, this time from over in Ireland. There are plenty of strong claims for this one as well.

The current favourite is two-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner AL BOUM PHOTO who was a respectable fifth on his hattrick bid last month.

He looks to be still on top of his game and will give it all he has.

But we are sidestepping him for a look at CLAN DES OBEAUX at 3/1* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on April 27th 2021 at 888Sport).

That is because he produced a simply stunning victory in the Bowl Chase at Aintree on his latest effort. That was three weeks ago.

It was a victory recorded by 26 lengths. On the back of that, more has to be expected from the Paul Nicholls’ nine year old.

Another key player here, FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES won the Melling Chase on his last run, which was at the Aintree Festival. That win was by eleven lengths as he just bolted up.

But as impressive as that was, it wasn’t as good as the performance by Clan Des Obeaux.

SIR OLIVER certainly looks like being a strong contender in this fixture.

But we are going to go with SPIRIT OF MAY instead at 15/2 as a bigger option* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on April 27th 2021 at 888Sport).

That is because he has a more experienced jockey on his back in this one after failing to get himself going in a handicap here over course and distance three months ago.

That was a higher class than what this race is being ran at, so he may well find the going a little bit easier.

Spirit Of May is a four time course and distance winner, the most recent of these was on his penultimate run. So he warrants respect in a handicap that just appears to be really wide open affair.
