He has been starting to come back to top form this season and took a third at Doncaster on his last run.

Theflyingportrait looks to be on a lenient mark here and drops in grade.

Right there as the joint-favourite is RIKOBOY. This is second go since wind surgery and he is still looking for his first win over the jumps.

There was a nice bit of form shown by him 41 days ago when he took third place from a field of 8 at Fakenham. That was in a handicap hurdle so makes the switch back to chasing.

6/1 shot DAREBIN is our selection* (betting odds recorded 1837 GMT on Tuesday, 29th December 2020 at Coral).

He comes into action on the back of a win having scored in a 6-runner effort at Sandown just under a month ago.

He gets a bump up in the ratings and is unpredictable with temperament. But that run showed promise.

The other selection for this race is FALCON SUN. He had a poor run at Sandown on his last effort but had been going well before that.

On his penultimate run, he rattled the crossbar at Taunton on a 2m trip, finding only one too good. That was Falcon Sun at his best.

GETAWAY MAG is the current market leader for this contest at 9/4* (betting odds recorded 1837 GMT on Tuesday, 29th December 2020 at Coral). There was a win for the David Skelton mare on her last run.

On her chase debut, she scored in a handicap at Southwell a month ago. That was a pretty convincing win that Getaway Mag nailed and so looks a big threat in this field.

There has been a rise of 9lb, but the weight is still on her side in this contest.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

IMPERIAL came from nowhere to score from 28/1 on his last run. That was at Doncaster and he made a few mistakes on his way around as well.

So it will be interesting to see what he follows up with. There is a need for some jumping improvement in this sphere.

A couple of extra furlongs in this run should play to his strengths.

The other section is the consistent GALILEO SILVER who is having a fine season. He is making his chase debut in this fixture.

On a switch to handicapping over the hurdles, he scored immediately and then rattled the crossbar on a follow up at Chepstow.

Galileo Silver looks a good option on his switch to the bigger stuff.

There was a win for him last time out, his second trip of the new campaign.

Back in March to end the last season Little Red Lion posted a win at Huntingdon.

Then it was a score in a Lingfield Handicap last time out for him after failing to complete his first trip over the hurdles this season.

Little Red Lion goes from a 5lb higher mark but there should be a strong challenge to come from him.

ROBIN OF SHERWOOD has been running well all season, rattling off a hat trick at one point.

He was last seen in action at Ffos Las when he was running under a penalty after coming down in trip from his 3m successes.

DUNBAR also piques some interest for this run. He picked up a score on his last run. He makes a switch to a new yard for this, his chase debut.

That latest win that he took was in a maiden pointer in October. He needs some further improvement but retains some ability and place claims are there for Dunbar.

He has moved along in some fine form this season.

On his season opener, he won at Bangor in a novice hurdle at the first time of asking under rules.

On his third run of the season, he scored again, which was here at Market Rasen in a handicap chase.

There is a 6lb rise in the ratings for him to deal with. But he is being very well handled by Fergal O’Brien and thrives as a stayer.

There may still be room ahead of what the assessor has given him.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

OPTIMISTIC BIAS looks an intersting player, especially with a 7lb conditional on his back.

The veteran chaser made a fine return to form with a 3m win in a Uttoxeter handicap chase on his latest run. That was 38 days ago.

He will have to dig deeper to handle a 5lb rise in a much tougher contest though. But he’s worth keeping an eye on in the market given his recent score.

LOUGH DERG FARMER has completed one of his three efforts this season. But he still warrants respect if he can get his temperament right on the day.

That was a nice effort from him in a handicap chase at Carlisle a couple of weeks ago in a small field. He may well be more settled in a bigger field and brings place claims.

But the pick of the bunch is RED GIANT at 13/2* (betting odds recorded 1837 GMT on Tuesday, 29th December 2020 at Coral). T

he current form is there from him, having won on his penultimate run, a surprise win at Sedgefield. B

ut Red Giant backed up that form with an excellent second place at Catterick a couple of weeks ago. He’s off the same mark and is a former course and distance winner.

This is a small field for which PERFECT MYTH is the 5/6 odds-favourite* (betting odds recorded 1837 GMT on Tuesday, 29th December 2020 at Coral). It has been a cracking, progressive season from her.

She has won three times since coming back into action in August. She put in another fine bold displayed at Wincanton last time out, finding only one too good.

Perfect Myth was beaten by The White Mouse at Wincanton who has since gone on to win at Cheltenham.

So that frank’s the form of the favourite and she may be very tough to beat coming back down in trip. She is our selection.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

TALKING ABOUT YOU impressed on scoring a double on her last run. That was a victory in a Listed fixture at Aintree.

That happened after a win at Ludlow. So she is expected to be right in the frame and she looks the biggest threat to the favourite.

More progress is needed in a stronger fixture, but Talking About You is a very exciting prospect.

WILL VICTORY may be worth watching as well. She was in good shape on her last run, before falling three from home at Newbury.

That was in a Listed race and there should be more improvement to come from here.

For her new yard in her penultimate run, she took a very good second place finish over the hurdles in a novice.

The consistent mare made her reappearance at Fontwell last month.

There is plenty of encouraging signs there too after she took second place in a field of eight.

She gets hit with a 2lb rise but that’s probably not enough to take her out of the picture. She will likely feature.

SANDFORD CASTLE is getting better and better all the time. He was second on his last effort a couple of weeks ago.

That was at Wincanton where he was only narrowly beaten by less than a length.

The form is on the rise without question and he needs to be respected. We think Sandford Castle is worth a look at 13/2* (betting odds recorded 1837 GMT on Tuesday, 29th December 2020 at Coral)

We would also swing towards MISTY MAI who opened the season in fine style. The veteran mare showed plenty of class to score on a 3m trip at Ffos Las on that comeuppance.

There will be a slight question over her because of a 7lb rise. But given the way she ran last time out, place claims cannot be discounted.
