DUC KAUTO is the 3/1 favourite for this contest at Wincanton* (betting odds recorded 19:25 GMT on Tuesday, 2nd March 2021 at Ladbrokes).

On his chase debut back in October 2019, Duc Kauto got off the mark immediately in that one and then followed up with a 2nd place at the same venue on a follow-up.

After a 183 day break, he had a run in July last year in another handicap chase at Newcastle in which he was fifth of eight.

It’s been a 239-day break since then. The potential is there if he shrugs off the break.

DONT BE ROBIN piques a little bit of interest. The nine years old claimed third place at Wincanton in December and he did have a crack at this very race 12 months.

It was a third-place finish for him in that one and Don’t Be Robin was 3lb higher then.

FIVE STAR GETAWAY will be the other for the shortlist and in a low-key field, he is our 11/2 horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 19:25 GMT on Tuesday, 2nd March 2021 at Ladbrokes).

There was a fifth-place finish for him at Warwick in a race that was beyond him. This is a more realistic assignment.

The race favourite for this handicap chase is EARLOFHTECOTSWOLRDS at 5/2* (betting odds recorded 19:25 GMT on Tuesday, 2nd March 2021 at Ladbrokes).

He is looking to complete a double after a score in a jumpers bumper last month. He’s looking like a useful chaser and rattled the crossbar at Ascot in November last year.

The recent effort on the flat will have sharpened up him well enough, so solid claims are coming in for Earlofthecotswolds.

MOLINEAUX is not to be written out of this one. He was in a 2m contest here at Wincanton last time out and he was keeping on well there to claim a runner up spot.

That’s back to back second-place finishes from him and he looks prime to jump up in trip for this one.

IN his penultimate fixture, he took a trip over the hurdles here at Musselburgh and produced a career-best effort to claim third place.

Either side of that there has been a fall for Balranald, most recently at course and distance on his latest run.

He’s sat on a good mark, the jumping will be a bit of a question mark over him, however.

This is a wide-open contest and it is worth a look at SWORD OF FATE.

He finished ahead of Diamond State in that one as he claimed a second-place finish here at Musselburgh last month.

Sword Of Fate also picked up a win at Cartmel in a chase effort last August. He could be back in the frame.

Diamond State is 3lb better off against Sword Of Fate for this next duel.

He can’t be taken lightly now as he is still on the same mark following that course and distance third place.

That was his handicap bow as well and there should be more to come from him.

We have a much bigger field to look at in this one and the 3/1 market leader is SOYOUTHINKSOAGAIN* (betting odds recorded 19:25 GMT on Tuesday, 2nd March 2021 at Ladbrokes).

The form has certainly been there from him this season and he picked up a win in a Stratford handicap on his penultimate run on a 2m 3f trip.

He was tested then over a 3m trip at Ascot in December and Soyouthinksoagain claimed a good third place there as well.

So this drop back to mid-range may well be right for him and he cannot be taken lightly on Wednesday.

AKARITA LIGHTS will have a big saw in this if he reproduces the kind of form that he showed on his latest effort.

That was a second palace finish at Market Rasen in an eye-catching performance 46 days ago.

Akarita Lights was well ahead of the rest of the field and jumps up 4lb here but looks on a very threatening mark regardless.

The other selection for the shortlist is going to be GOLDEN EMBLEM who was runner up at Musselburgh 24 days ago.

That saw him just miss out on a double after having scored at Market Rasen on the trip before that.

That’s back to back good runs which shows that he is in good heart and Golden Emblem could enter calculations.

GET THE APPEAL is the strong 10/11 odds-on favourite for this handicap hurdle* (betting odds recorded 19:25 GMT on Tuesday, 2nd March 2021 at Ladbrokes).

She picked up a win for trainer Paul Nicholls last month at this venue when the field never got after her at all until it was too late. So this could be a stiffer test for the mare.

But the fact that she is making a step forward in distance piques plenty of interest and that just adds to her claims.

There’s been a 5lb rise in the ratings for Get The Appeal.

DORA DE JANEIRO looks a solid option for this one as well as he makes a pretty big jump up in the trip.

She has been carrying some very useful form on the shorter trips this season, landing back to back second-place finishes, the most recent of which was a bumper 42 days ago.

HENRY’S JOY is another to watch for in this competitive field. He has been away for three months, but if he picks up where he left off, he could have a chance.

In that latest race, he battled very well for a second-place finish over course and distance after having looked out of it at one point.

HIGHLAND AVENUE is the 4/6 odds-on favourite for this trip* (betting odds recorded 19:25 GMT on Tuesday, 2nd March 2021 at Ladbrokes).

So he is highly respected with Hollie Doyle in the saddle as well. His debut was here at Kempton when he was only narrowly touched off.

Then he claimed a course and distance win back here at the end of January. Based on that, there are solid claims.

APOLLO ONE may have a say in this as he is rated well and has claimed two wins in his last four runs.

He has been away for 153 days though, so it’s been a big absence.

But he looks as if he can be a threat as long as the absence doesn’t hold him back.

The final selection is OO DE LALLY who secured a hattrick in a 7f trip at Newcastle’s last time out.

He’s up a few pounds in the ratings but is now making the move up to the 1m trip which he looks to have in him.
