Today’s horse racing tips for Wednesday only have the two venues to look at, those being Kempton and Wolverhampton.

The scheduled midweek meeting from Ayr has been abandoned.

So that leaves us with a day of flat racing only to look at. There are still six selections for today’s horse racing tips.

TORONADO QUEEN is the current 9/4 market leader for this handicap action at Wolverhampton* (betting odds recorded 21:19 GMT on Tuesday, 5th January 2021 at Betway).

She was last in action 10 days ago and that was over course and distance. Toronado Queen claimed second there despite not getting well positioned.

But she was also 3lb out of the weights as she nearly scored another C&D success.

She has to be the pick of the bunch in this one as she faces a slightly less competitive field this time up.

The drop in class should be enough to bump her across the line first.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

CITYZEN SERG had a shot at a hattrick here last week but couldn’t get the job done. He wasn’t disgraced in a fifth-place finish, however.

The course and distance winner still has to feature strongly in this fixture after back to back C&Ds in November. Cityzen Serg is the top-rated runner in the field.

The other one for the shortlist is CRIMEWAVE. He was last seen three weeks ago when he stepped out at Kempton.

There was a good run from him too in that one over a 1m trip. Crimewave found only Freedom And Wheat too good for him on the day.

He was last seen in action here at Wolverhampton a week ago.

On that visit, Born To Sire took a second-place finish from a field of 11 under handicap terms.

So on the back of that career-best effort over an extended mile, he should be a good fit to expect another bold run from.

This is not a particularly deep field, so the next option we are going to look at is FINAL ATTACK.

He was out of sorts on his last run, which was here 115 days ago. The cheekpieces are back on and Final Attack could be a threat.

She was fifth in that nursery effort (won by IESHA). There has been a 4lb rise or Dubai Tigress on the back of what was an excellent run.

She didn’t have the best luck in how the race shaped, but handicapping has made a big difference and she can feature.

NORTONTHORPE BOY scored recently at Wolverhampton, defying a 6lb penalty.

So he is bang in form at the moment as he takes another penalty of the same amount.

That reduced mark last time out really helped him to score a nursery victory here. He should be a big player on his return.

There has to be a long hard look at IESHA again to follow up on that recent nursery victory. That Was over course and distance 23 days ago.

There has been a 5lb rise for her, but that is enough to still keep her on the right side of the other main contenders.

So that immediately puts him in the frame on his return to Kempton. That was a handicap scored 7 weeks ago and there has only been a 2lb rise for him to face.

Before that, he had claimed a 5th place finish in the Cesarewitch. Rock Eagle’s unexposed at the 2m trip and looks to be progressing very well.

IMTIYAZ is another that is going in the right direction as well. He was third last time out over course and distance a month ago.

That saw him miss out on the completion of a hattrick. Amtiyaz was a little unlucky on that run too, not getting the space he needed.

He’s a big player and has enough to make it as our 15/8 selection* (betting odds recorded 21:19 GMT on Tuesday, 5th January 2021 at Betway).

The Final section for the shortlist is going to be LUCKY DEAL who looks competitive at the moment.

He collected a win (7th of his career) when he scored at Newcastle under handicap terms a couple of weeks ago.

The assessor has been gentle in only throwing out a 2lb rise and therefore there should be placed claims.

As he comes back into action, the colt will be looking to nail a hattrick.

There has been superb form from Aberema Gold recently and he looks to be the one to beat.

It’s three wins from his last four after a score at Lingfield over 6f 18 days ago.

Aberama Gold had gotten the better of BRIAN THE SNAIL in that one as well, who he opposes on Wednesday.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

GULLIVER looks to be a real danger in this one here. He scored a valuable handicap over 6f at York in the autumn and looks superb.

The former course and distance winner is the highest-rated runner in this field. This is his first run for 60 days when he took fight place in a Listed run at Doncaster.

If he’s in form, he is the one to beat at 5/2* (betting odds recorded 21:19 GMT on Tuesday, 5th January 2021 at Betway).

TRANCHEE had a good run at Wolverhampton over 7f recently. That was 11 days ago when he shaped well to get himself close.

Tranchee has only had the one 6f effort before. That ended in a second-place finish to Gulliver at York in October.

He could be one to watch back down on the trip.

There was a win for him on his latest run. That was a very comfortable victory as well for his new yard nine days ago at Newcastle.

There is a 5lb penalty as a result of that, but Global Warming looks to be the pick of the bunch in this contest.

The drop back to a 6f trip last time really saw something extra from him.

SOAR ABOVE could have a good run here as he was right in the frame over a 7f trip last time out. That win was here at Kempton.

So the drop in trip could be coming into place at the right time for him to make another bold bid. Soar Above is a four-time course and distance winner.

We would be interested enough in GHAITH as a shortlist option as well. He was last seen in Class 2 handicap action at Wolverhampton 11 days ago.

This is going to be a lot easier on him after a credible fourth at that higher level. Not to be counted out and place claims are there.
