Today’s Horse Racing Tip

KING OF TSAVO easily looks to be the one to beat in this one. He was last seen making his handicap debut at Kempton in December.

King Of Tsavo is a quote of 7/4 to bag the win on Wednesday* (betting odds recorded 23:29 GMT on June 8th 2021 at William Hill).

He scored decisively in that contest and comes up 10lb for that win. Notably, that form has been totally franked.

The third and fourth from that run, have both gone on to win. So that just brings stronger claims for King Of Tsavo on Wednesday.

He has also been gelded since that break and bigger things are expected of him. He gets the nod over the other key player in the contest SIR RUMI.

There has been good progress from the latter selection, after opening his account at Nottingham and taking the form forward to claim a second at this distance at Lingfield afterwards.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

PIVOINE ran well at York on his latest effort. He was fourth of twelve on that day there in a handicap.

We expect another decent step forward from him as he turns out on Wednesday for Andrew Balding.

Pivoine has fallen down the weights and isn’t on an unreasonable mark to potentially see him score off.

There is a quote of 5/2 on Pivoine to take this one and it’s not the deepest of fields that we think is in play here.

SATONO JAPAN is tried with the visor for the first time as connections look to get a little bit more out of the lightly raced 4-year-old.

HIGHWAY GRAY scored on his penultimate run, a score at Doncaster in April. He was fourth on his follow up, not getting a clear run of things at Redcar.

That was 9 days ago and we don’t expect him to be too far away from being in the thick of things.

We are down to a small field for this middle distance handicap at Haydock on Wednesday. But it’s an interesting one.

All three of them won their most recent outing and there really doesn’t look very much to choose between them.

PRISON BREAK is actually going to get the nod in this one at 11/4* (betting odds recorded 23:29 GMT on June 8th 2021 at William Hill).

He is well worth chancing as he thrived on the move up to this distance on his latest run. That was at Redcar 8 days ago.

He has more to handle with a 6lb plenty, but OCEANLINE is also under the same penalty for this contest.

The latter selection picked up an easy win in similar conditions at Nottingham, benefiting from a drop in grade.

The continents and trip could prove to be a little too complicated for SOAPY STEVENS who won at Chester, staying on well.

DRUMLEE WATER has to be the way to go at 2/1 for this contest* (betting odds recorded 23:29 GMT on June 8th 2021 at William Hill).

He completed a runner-up spot over course and distance in a handicap on his latest run, which was 35 days ago.

Since then there has been a wind op for him and he will also have the cheekpieces on for the first time.

So things do look as if they are falling in a place for the former Irish point winner. It looks as if he is starting to come to the fore in handicapping, knocking on the door lately.

Out of all these, Drumlee Water is the most reliable in terms of stamina. It’s a field where most of the runners are having a first crack at this distance.

The other big threats in the contest are HUNTING PERCIVAL and TOP MAN.

This looks like a very good competitive and potentially entertaining affair.

We think it’s just worth taking a chance of FLAMING SPEAR at 13/2* (betting odds recorded 23:29 GMT on June 8th 2021 at William Hill).

He hasn’t won since 2018, but that win did happen here at Kempton. There is a very positive run from him back here last month as well which puts him back on the radar.

That latest run was at the course and distance in which he took fourth in a big field handicap three weeks ago.

That was good competitive form and a huge step forward out of a bit of a slump. With a 5lb claimer, we think he is just worth rolling with as he wouldn’t be winning out of turn.

The other big player is LOVE DREAMS who is bang in form at the moment. He was second in a small 4-runner field at Lingfield a month ago.

But he was pushed really aggressively there and it didn’t pan out for him. His latest win was at Wolverhampton in April and he probably won’t be far away.
