Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This does appear to be a wide-open contest for Monday’s racing tips.

We just have to lean towards COMANCHE FALLS at 9/2 as our horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 21:24 GMT on April 25th 2021 at William Hill).

He has performed from fresh before as he returns for the first time since a run in October. Comanche Falls won his first start of last season after his break.

That was one of three runs that he won last season, a couple of those at Haydock.

His yard is bang in form at the moment and given the productive year that he had, he has to be worth a look to make a positive reintroduction to action.

The other big threats in the field are GLORY FIGHTER and GEORGE BOWEN as far as we can see, the latter catching the eye on his last run.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

CALL MY BLUFF is the outright favourite for this contest and he looks tough to knock over in this contest, although EAGLE’S FOOT is likely to give him a run for his money.

On his latest run, Call My Bluff was seeking the completion of a four-timer but was caught out by one who had a red-hot day at the office.

But he came on leaps and bounds after being pushed forward to staying trips.

As long as he handles the fibresand in play in this one, he should have a big say in this contest.

We think that is just going to be even more on show from Call My Bluff this year and he kicked it all off with a positive return to action in this reappearance.

MODMIN appears to be the stand-out selection for this fixture as he should strip fitter after a reappearance at Leicester recently.

We do think that 15/2 shot CALONNE is worth some consideration through on his first run for a new yard* (betting odds recorded 21:24 GMT on April 25th 2021 at William Hill).

Calonne was second on his latest effort, which was a 1m trip at Newcastle last month. So he is match fit at the moment and he went close in that one.

If he handles the Polytrack there could be something in his challenge. He is going to need just a little bit more, but if one or two falter, then we expect him to get in the frame.

Place claims certainly look as if they are there.

This is a good strong contest and we are going to HOWZER BLACK at 9/4 for the win* (betting odds recorded 21:24 GMT on April 25th 2021 at William Hill).

He has been knocking around high-class handicaps recently and none of his last two efforts have returned any punishment from the handicapper.

The latest run that he had was a return to this distance 11 days ago at Ripon in which he took a place finish.

Howzer Black has just been going strong in defeat and will be looking to add to his latest win which was at Wolverhampton in December.

We think that the recent 2lb rise for DREAM WITH ME could swing a serious favour towards Howzer Black.

We have a bigger field to look at in this one for horse racing tips. The clear front runners in this one are CUSTARD THE DRAGON and DEFENCE TREATY. It should be a great scrap between the two of them.

We are just going towards DEFENCE TREATY at 4/1* (betting odds recorded 21:24 GMT on April 25th 2021 at William Hill).

That is because he has produced some fine form this calendar year and it all started with him getting off the mark for 2021 here at Southwell.

Defence Treaty showed what good heart that he is in when delivering a Redcar victory on the switch to turf from a 20/1 SP recently.

That victory two weeks ago has only cost him a 1lb rise in the ratings.

There is not an easy way past Custard The Dragon at all, but Defence Treaty looks as if he is adaptable and game enough to make it happen.

This is a super competitive handicap fixture with a lot of claims. But Richard took a runner up spot at course and distance last time out in October.

So coming back refreshed he could have a little more to offer.

During the break, there has been wind surgery for him and Hollie Doyle will be on his back for the contest.
