Tottenham v Brighton Betting Tips – Premier League 13th December 8.00pm

Spurs bounced back to the top of their game on the weekend as they trounced a hapless Stoke at Wembley. So that was an important win for the Lilywhites as the victory snapped a four match winless streak of form that they had slumped to. Brighton took a disappointing hit out on the road at Huddersfield on Saturday and that saw them continue their struggles with now only two points collected from their last five games.

Tottenham News and Form

Spurs bounced back into form last weekend as they thumped Stoke 5-1 at Wembley. It was all so easy for them and they looked back to their clinical best. Harry Kane chipped in with a couple more goals for the season as well and the England man is the obvious First Goalscorer option at William Hill for the fixture on Wednesday. Kane has now hit at least one goal in three of his last four league home appearances. He has five goals at home in the league this season and has helped Spurs to a W4 D3 L1 record so far at Wembley. They are undefeated in their last seven matches at Wembley now and they have won four of their last five there (D1). Overall this season they have only conceded the six home goals at a rate of 0.75 per game and so Spurs to win to nil at William Hill offers value at 4/5. Tottenham have three clean sheets at home this term and the majority of their home goals (71% of them) have come in the second half of matches. Perhaps a half time draw would be a decent option then as Brighton really are going to show up and try and batten down the hatches from the get-go.

Brighton News and Form

The Seagulls really missed a big opportunity on the weekend as they went to the slumping Huddersfield and suffered a 2-0 loss. That was a big three points on offer for them there to try and claw their way further to safety up the table. So they are going to have to try and offer up some kind of response to that setback. The go into this with back to back defeats under their belt and they have failed to win any of their last five games now in the top flight (D2 L3). Their away form reads W2 D1 L5 for the season and they have suffered a loss in their last two out on the road without having found the back of the net. Brighton have returned only the five away goals on their travels so far, but defensively they have not been all that bad, in having only conceded the nine goals in eight games out on their travels. Just 25% of their away games in the top flight have gone over 2.5 goals. Glenn Murray is their top scorer on the road this season with three and he is a 4/1 anytime goalscorer option in the fixture. A Tottenham 2-0 option in the William Hill correct score market returns a price of 5/1 while a Spurs 1-0 is there at 13/2. Brighton may not have enough in them to really go out to Wembley and collect a win and they may struggle to break Tottenham’s stern defence.

Tottenham v Brighton Head to Head

Spurs have a head to head advantage over the Seagulls as they are 8-3 up against the south coast side with three drawn matches. This will be the first league meeting between the pair through since the 1982/83 Division 1 season in which home wins were traded. Their most recent meeting though was a 2014 Capital One Cup tie which Spurs won 2-0 at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham v Brighton Predictions

Tottenham to win: It should be a pretty routine affair for Tottenham in this one as they looked fresh on the weekend in crushing Stoke. They are likely going to find the going pretty smooth again the Seagulls as well and can comfortably win this game to nil
