Tottenham News and Form

Tottenham have been in such strong form lately. They sent out an under-strength side for their FA Cup trip to Tranmere on Friday night and Spurs produced a 7-0 win at Prenton Park. Naturally, they are facing tougher opposition in his one, but they have already gotten the better of Chelsea this season. Back in November, they met at Wembley in the Premier League and Tottenham absolutely destroyed the Blues in a 3-1 win. It was a powerful, dominant performance which the Lilywhites came up within it.

Spurs have now won six of their last seven games, the only blip their shock league defeat at home against Wolves at the back end of last year. That is the only defeat which they have suffered in their last dozen games as well. Spurs have scored at least three goals in four of their last five games. They have also bagged themselves a clean sheet in four of their last six. Tottenham were on a six-match winning streak at home before that upset against Wolves. Tottenham lost in the quarterfinals of last season’s EFL Cup.

Chelsea News and Form

The Blues eased to a home win over Championship side Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on the weekend. That extended their current form to four unbeaten (W3 D1). They have only suffered the one defeat in their last nine fixtures across all competitions now. The Blues are currently on a three-match winning streak away from home well. Chelsea have scored exactly two goals in three of their last four games on the road. They have scored at least once in each of their last ten games away from Stamford Bridge.

They did pass a huge test out on the road in this season’s EFL Cup. They took a 2-1 win at Anfield against Liverpool earlier in the competition. The Blues have been struggling to pick up those clean sheets as they have only earned one in their last six away from Stamford Bridge. They are only W3 D1 L2 in their last six on the road. They know that Spurs are in strong form. What will their approach be? Keep it tight and take their chances back on home soil or drive for the away goals?
