Tottenham News and Form

Tottenham have overcome some injury adversaries with a great three-match winning streak in the league. Each of the wins in that small sequence were by a one-goal margin. Overall Tottenham have picked up a W8 L4 record at home in the top flight and this will be their third straight fixture at Wembley. Spurs have taken back to back home wins, having taken out Watford and Newcastle.

That was important as they had lost their two previous home fixtures. 42% of Tottenham’s home league fixtures have ended up going over 3.5 goals this season. The Lilywhites have picked up a total of 21 goals, conceding 11 at home so far this term. They have earned a clean sheet in 33% of home fixtures, managing just the one in their last four though. Spurs seem to refuse to draw a league game this season, still not having been involved in one.

Of the goals that they have given up on home soil, 64% of them have been in the second half of matches. Tottenham have scored the first goal in eight of their twelve home games and have been leading at the midway point in half of those. Son Heung Min has netted in back to back league games for them.

  • Tottenham’s last three league wins have been by a one goal margin
  • Leicester have the league’s fifth-best defence

Leicester News and Form

Leicester put in a really good, positive performance last weekend, but could only come away with a 1-0 defeat against Manchester United. Leicester have earned only the one point in their last four league fixtures, that point coming from a draw against Liverpool. It has been one win in their last six games now from the former Premier League champions.

Their overall away record this season in the top flight is W5 D3 L5. They have remained undefeated in their two away games against sides currently in the top four though, a victory at Chelsea along with their recent draw at Liverpool. Leicester have produced an average of 1.3 goals per game away from home this season.

Only 38% of their away games have gone above the 2.5 goals line. The Foxes have put together a four-match scoring streak on the road though, so that is some kind of positive for them. Of the eleven losses that they have suffered so far this term, eight of them have been by just the one-goal margin. Leicester have scored 82% of their away goals in the second half of matches. Their defence has been good this season, with the Foxes currently boasting the fifth-best defensive record in the top flight.

Tottenham v Leicester Predictions

Spurs to win: Spurs have a bit of momentum going and they may be able to squeeze out another tight home win in this one. Leicester may just come up short again against one of the top sides in the division. Spurs to win to nil.
