Tottenham News and Form – Can Tottenham get a home win over the Blades?

Spurs looked to be heading for a win last weekend until they were denied at the death at Goodison Park by Everton. That moves Spurs on to a four-match run of league games without a win (D2 L2). It has been just the one win that they have taken in their last six played. In that run of six games, Spurs have failed to pick up a clean sheet. So it’s certainly not been a great season by their standards.

But there have been successes at home as Tottenham have taken a W3 D1 L1 record. In their last home fixture though, they were frustrated into a 1-1 draw against bottom side Watford. Sheffield United are in good form. They have not been beaten in their last four league outings, picking up a W2 D2 record. Last weekend they eased to a superb 3-0 home win over Burnley. It has been back to back away draws for them at Watford and then West Ham. That has maintained their unbeaten away record this season in the Premier League. The Blades have four clean sheets in their last six league fixtures.

Away from home Sheffield United are W1 D4 this season. It has been a great defensive effort which they have produced. They are currently holding the joint best defensive record in the league alongside Leicester. It has been only the eight goals which they have conceded in their dozen league games. Sheffield United have two clean sheets away from home, conceding four goals in total.

Sheffield United have only failed to score in one away game this season. Of the six goals that they have scored away from Bramall Lane, the Blades have netted five of them in the second half of games. Under 2.5 goals has cropped up in each of their last three road games.
