Trump even money at Paddy Power to resign before impeachment

Will Trump walk away from power?

Bookmaker News

It’s fair to say that the Trump administration hasn’t had a smooth ride since taking office earlier this year at the White House. The shambolic tenure of Donald Trump as Commander in Chief has seen investigations, firings, resignations, public outcry, rallies of demonstration and pretty much a failure by the Administration to get any actual legislation achieved.

So while talk of impeachment continues to be spread around because of the special investigations ongoing over links between the Trump campaign and Russian meddling in last year’s election, Paddy Power have trimmed the odds of Trump leaving the office of his own accord before getting pushed. That is a 50% chance then at even money on that now, while the bookie implies a 60% chance at a price of 4/6 on him being impeached.

Ladbrokes this week also cut the price on Trump resigning from 11/10 down to even money this week, so there is a trend happening. Impeachment of Trump isn’t particularly likely because his Republican party holds power in both the House of Representatives and in Congress. But the pressure on Trump after his comments following the Charlottesville, Virginia troubles from his own party has been growing, with more and more Republican leaders denouncing him.

Through his entire tenure so far, Trump has never been far from controversy, but the remarks equating Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists to the demonstrators who were out opposing them in Charlottesville has left Trump out in the cold. Business advisory panels have been shut down, advisors have walked and corporate leaders have pulled support for him because they are not wanting to be associated with Trump, who basically has been accused of defending Neo-Nazis.

Then Steve Bannon, Trump’s chief strategist was fired at the end of the week and with Trump getting into an escalating rhetoric with North Korea over potential nuclear war with them, former Vice President Al Gore has called on Trump to resign, while the ghostwriter of Trump’s famous book The Art of the Deal, Tony Schwartz said that he “would be amazed if [Trump] survives till end of the year.”

He added: “Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and Congress leave him no choice.”

“Tony Schwartz spent 18 months with Trump when helping ghost-write his memoir, and while that must have been totally unbearable, it also means he knows The Donald pretty well,” Paddy Power said in a statement Friday. “After an awful week for the president that has seen other issues like North Korea pushed into the shadows, it’s no surprise punters are latching onto the fact Trump might call it a day.”
