Turner Prize 2018 Short-List and Betting – Novelty Betting

Willis Thompson aiming to shock Turner Prize jury and rivals

Novelty Betting & Other Events Betting

Tate Britain has announced the four artists to be short-listed for the 2018 Turner Prize and William Hill has opened a book on the outright winner, which will be announced in the midst of an exhibition featuring the works in December.

Now betting on a four-horse race won’t be appealing to some, this is the biggest prize in British art and fiercely contested and those with an artistic bent might be keen to back their judgement of what is and what is not a thoughtful composition. The winners receives £25, 000 and the other finalists £5,000 each. The Turner Prize 2018 jury are Oliver Basciano, art critic and International Editor at ArtReview; Elena Filipovic, Director of Kunsthalle Basel; Lisa Le Feuvre, Executive Director of Holt-Smithson Foundation; and Tom McCarthy, novelist and Visiting Professor, Royal College of Art. The jury is chaired by Alex Farquharson, Director of Tate Britain.

Famous past winners of the Turner Prize include Anish Kapoor, Antony Gormley, Damien Hirst and Grayson Perry and this award really can propel the winner into the kind of commissions most artists can only dream of.

Turner Prize 2018 William Hill Betting

Forensic Architecture 13/8, Naeeem Mohaiemen 11/4, Luke Willis Thompson 3/1, Charlotte Prodger 10/3

(Odds Correct at 10.30m October 22)

Forensic Architecture are probably the best known of the finalists and have been installed as favourites. But Naeem Mohaiemen and Luke Willis Thompson have recently been examining more current and controversial issues and could be better value in the William Hill betting.
