Tyson Fury v Francesco Pianeta Predictions – August 18th, 2018

Tyson Fury is back again. The controversial British fighter is going into his second bout of the year as he tries to work his way back to the top of the sport. He goes into battle against Italy’s Francesco Pianeta on Saturday night at Windsor Park, Belfast. This is just his second fight since that famous night in Dusseldorf in November 2015 when he beat Wladimir Klitschko to become world heavyweight champion.

Back in June, Fury went up against Sefer Seferi in a bit of a non-contest at the Manchester Arena. There was nothing much learned from that as his opponent was pulled from the fight in the fourth round. There had been plenty of showboating from Fury in the first couple of rounds but he delivered some heavy blows in the fourth and his Albanian opponent never got off his stool.

This fight is on the undercard of the Carl Frampton v Luke Jackson bout for Saturday night. This could just end up being another non-contest for Fury, who is a massive odds-on favourite to collect the win. He is apparently intent on fighting three times this year so the opposition is not going to be all that stuff. We are looking for an early result again in this fight and Tyson Fury Round 1-5 in round group betting at William Hill appeals at 6/5 odds* (betting odds taken from August 16th, 2018 at 5:31 pm).

He is taking on a two-time world title challenger in Pianeta. His big shots came against Wladimir Klitschko in 2013 and in 2015 against Ruslan Chagaev for World titles. He got stopped in both of those fights and the southpaw looks well beyond the prime of getting himself into big fights like that. The Italian carries a 28-3 career record with him into this one and this will be his first fight since June where he was beaten in a unanimous decision by Croatia’s Petar Milas.

Prediction

There is just little chance that this is going to go the distance. For all of his antics, Fury can pack a punch and his opponent isn’t going to have the kind of defence that is going to stop Fury and we are backing the British fighter to get the win done in Round 5 for 7/1 odds* (betting odds taken from August 16th, 2018 at 5:31 pm).
