There is a tight market for this contest, but the market leader is LADY NECTAR at 5/4* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 19:57 GMT on Sunday, 16th August 2020). There’s little surprise there really as she is in top form currently.

She will be looking to score a hattrick on Monday where she is carrying a 6lb penalty. Lady Nectar scored a brilliant win on her last effort, coming through a field of 19 to score at Thirsk at the 6f trip.

It was a storming finish from her and when you are able to throw on top the fact that she is a course and distance winner as well, Lady Nectar checks a lot of boxes and should be the one who sets the standard here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

JET SET GO had a good reappearance and she is a lightly raced mare. That recent run saw him claim second of 11 in a Doncaster handicap three weeks ago. That form should be able to see her pull into some kind of contention in this one.

RAPID RUSSO put in a good effort at Ayr last time out as he claimed second. He looks to now be seeing the benefits of his gelding operation and he scored a previous course win in a novice event.

PEARL OF QATAR is one more name we will pick from the 12-runner field. The filly looks to be rapidly improving and not too far from getting on the board for the first time this season. Last time out she was third in an Ayr handicap and should have strong claims.

We certainly have a crowded market here with three runners currently sitting at 5/1 at the head of it* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 19:57 GMT on Sunday, 16th August 2020).

DAGUENEAU is sitting on a hattrick after posting a win on his reappearance. He is a pretty solid stayer actually and his last two wins have been in novice fixtures at Huntington and at Stratford. Stepping into handicapping should help him push on and is going well over the timbers.

BALLON ONABUDGET was in great shape last season, before a fall at Kempton sent him into his break. He returned from a 9th month period away from the track with an excellent second-place finish at Newton Abbot recently. He won a handicap hurdle last year.

LUNGARNO PALACE joins those two at the head of the market. He also scored a second-place finish in his reappearance. He looked well shaped to score a success at Market Rasen on his return to action as he was 3 lengths ahead of the field before making a mistake at the last. He goes up 4lb but regardless is still a big contender.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

SHANTOU VILLAGE is well worth a look here and he claims 7lb for jockey Millie Wonnacott. It was a third-place finish that he collected on his last effort and he didn’t have a great time over the fences last year.

But over the hurdles, he is travelling at a lower weight. His recent third was at this venue six weeks ago.

One more name for this race is BLACK BUBLE who posted a few wins last year. He was nearly there with his first in this campaign as well when he took second at Bangor just under three weeks ago. He could come back even sharper and is one to consider.

This is a competitive field and lining up as the current favourite is LILYPAD at 10/3* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 19:57 GMT on Sunday, 16th August 2020). It’s been good form since her return, reappearing with a second-place at Southwell.

She then followed up with a very good score at Newton Abbot. So the signs are there that she is sharp enough to put in another bold run. Lilypad has looked very comfortable back over the hurdles.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

LIGHTENING DANCE looks likely to pose a threat to the field in this contest. She was going along nicely on the flat and actually stepped it up over the hurdles on her debut.

That was just last month when she collected a win at 2m at Southwell. Lightning Dance is a good, bold runner and only takes on an extra 4lb so she should be a player.

The unexposed I’LLETYOUGONOW piques some interest. This will be just his fourth racetrack appearance and he looks to be progressing well early on the flat.

He took on his hurdles debut in a novice event in July and claimed a place. There is perhaps more than he can build on.

SON AND SANNIE is the current 11/8 favourite for this fixture at Windsor, which is race five. He was solid and consistent last season, but now as a four year old he looks to have gotten even stronger.

He made his reappearance with a second-place finish and then produced the best of his career so far. Son And Sannie got himself a victory in a 15-runner Naas handicap last time out. That was just under a couple of months ago.

He was showing great speed at the finish as well, so he should have this in him. Son And Sannie is having his first run for his new yard in this content and also has top jockey Oisin Murphy booked too.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

HAVEONEYERSELF could be a player in this field. That is because he rattled the crossbar over course and distance in June.

On his last trip, he was running at Bath in an 11-runner handicap and was only narrowly beaten there by a head.

The form is definitely there to make him a threat and he claims 5lb for jockey Grace McEntee.

SECOND COLLECTION is a course winner. She hasn’t put a win on the board since last year, but she looks to be in good shape at the moment having been in the frame in each of her last three contests.

She was second at Windsor in her last fixture a couple of weeks ago. Second Collection is consistent enough to get in the mix.

ICE SPRITE is the 6/5 favourite for this Windsor contract, which is the Grand Park Racing Fillies’ Handicap* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 19:57 GMT on Sunday, 16th August 2020).

Ice Sprite got herself off the market at the third attempt, which was her latest outing. That was in a 1m 2f Newmarket contest so she is coming up in trip for this one. It was a good sign of the progress that she has been making.

For her recent Newmarket score she is having to deal with an extra 8lb, but that on the basis of what we have seen, it is not likely to impede her here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

GUROOR has scored three times in her last six efforts. The most recent of those was on a repparance this season at Kempton with Stefano Cherchi in the saddle, who is back with her for this contest and claims 7lb. Last time out she was beaten by a neck only at Doncaster by the excellent Almareekh.

QUEEN OF THE SEA unseated her rider last time out which was over this course and distance, so it’s a shame we didn’t get to see her complete. Before that, he had taken a third-place finish in each of her previous racetrack appearances. Unexposed but progress is expected.

Race Favourite

The favourite for Race 9 from Windsor on Monday is MRS BENSON at 10/3* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 19:57 GMT on Sunday, 16th August 2020). She collected a second-place finish over course and distance just over a week ago.

So that is where he claims arrive from. Also there doesn’t look to be a great deal of competitive depth in this particular race. Mrs Benson stays at the same mark as her near miss over C&D.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

DEFTERA LAD may have enough to get himself into the picture in this one as he returns to the turf for the first time in a while.

He has scored within his last three runs, which was at Wolverhampton July. He was back there 10 days ago for his latest effort and ran a credible race to take 5th.

Coming in for her handicap debut is SHE’S ON THE EDGE who is making just her fourth racetrack appearance.

Just because she comes into handicapping for the first time, there should be more on offer from her and is not a bad each way option from 12/1* (betting odds taken from Betfred at 19:57 GMT on Sunday, 16th August 2020).
