This interesting handicap at Hamilton is being led by LE CHIFFRE at 5/2 in the market* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:45 GMT on Sunday, 27th September 2020).

He made a big impact on his return to action this season, winning back to back races.

One of those was here at Hamilton in July.

Le Chiffre was last in action a couple of weeks ago at Musselburgh and put another good effort on the board, taking 5th of 11 on a 1m handicap there.

He’s solid, consistent and is also down 1lb. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him get back to winning ways.

GRANITE CITY DOC knows his way around the venue having won twice before here this summer. Both wins were at a 1m distance.

The last trip that he had was a little longer, taking on a 1m 3f challenge here and went well again to take a place finish.

The drop back in trip should suit and he should fit him well and just goes as our tip at 9/2* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:45 GMT on Sunday, 27th September 2020).

ARCHAEOLOGY is expected to be in the picture as well for this contest. He returned to action recently when he claimed a runner up spot at Redcar.

He was last seen three and a half weeks ago when he went on a mile trip at Thirsk. He didn’t run well there, but that can be excused and he’s got the quality to contend here despite a 2lb rise.

UNION ROSE heads up this big field at 11/2* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:45 GMT on Sunday, 27th September 2020).

He is sitting on a hat trick so he easily warrants a look for this contest. One of the two wins that he has picked up recently was here at BBath.

He is 5lb higher in the rating after his excellent spell, but part of that gets balanced out by a 3lb claimer in Joshua Bryan.

He’ll enjoy the conditions as his recent win on the track was with firm footing. This is a very competitive, wide-open field though, but Union Rose should be a player.

MICHAELS CHOICE should be in the frame as well. He is a course and distance winner having gotten the score in July. He is at a 3lb higher mark than he was for that.

His last run was just over two weeks ago when he opposed UNION ROSE at Sandown and was fourth of eight behind the latter who won. He’s positioned nicely in the handicap and sticks with a visor.

GREY GALLEON should feature in this contest as he is also on a good rating. Two races ago he dominated a run over course and distance in July.

He will have to be excused for his last effort where he just ran out of sorts at Newmarket. But he is good enough to make his presence felt.

We will pull in one more name for this bigger field and that will be DEVILS ROC. She is a three-time course and distance winner so warrants some respect.

She was last in action a couple of weeks ago, claiming third place over 6f, just not being able to stick in there.

Devils Roc has the in-form Hollie Doyle booked for this and that’s enough for us at 12/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:45 GMT on Sunday, 27th September 2020).

This is an interesting small field and it is ZIM BABY who is the current 15/8 favourite* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:45 GMT on Sunday, 27th September 2020). She has taken a third place finish in each of her last four trips now.

She was unlucky on her last effort at Pontefract 11 days ago, coming through some trouble along the way to put in a very good finish. So a clear run in this small field, plus staying at the same mark makes her an obvious threat .

NEVER IN PARIS is one to watch in the market after a superb third place in the Ayr Bronze Cup recently. She got caught out a little wide or else it could have been better.

But that was a much needed return to form from her. She stays at the same mark as well so she has to enter calculations.

She is coming down in class and gets the nod as our pick from 9/4* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:45 GMT on Sunday, 27th September 2020).

MINA VELOUR should have more to offer as well after also taking back to back third place finishes.

Those have been from her two runs this season and she has shaped very well in both of them. She won a couple of times last year and doesn’t look far from scoring for her new yard.

The race favourite for this handicap hurdle action at Newton Abbot on Monday is HIGH WELLS at 7/2* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:45 GMT on Sunday, 27th September 2020).

He has been performing well on the flat this season and makes a switch back to the hurdles for the first time in a while.

High Wells was last in this sphere in 2018 but demands some respect. He has looked in a really good heart recently.

On his last hurdles effort he was second at Fontwell over a 2m 2f trip in August 2018, giving his second place in four attempts over the timbers.

COLLEGE OAK took a big step forward on his last effort, scoring a novice hurdle win at Uttoxeter last month. He looked really bright for that contest and finished the job in a composed manner.

He is coming into handicapping now and looks to be at a very workable mark. So there should be more to come from him and he has a 3lb claimer as well.

College Oak is coming up in trip and looks to be a threat and he is our pick at 3/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:45 GMT on Sunday, 27th September 2020)

The other obvious player in this field is GALILEO SILVER who stays at the same mark. He was last seen over a 2m 4f trip as he opened his hurdles account successfully there.

There was a strong effort at the finish there from him and he looked to have plenty of running left in him, so he should enjoy the extra bit of trip.

Leading the market in this small field is SCARDURA at 13/8* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:45 GMT on Sunday, 27th September 2020).

There should be more improvement to come from him and he did look very impressive on his chase debut.

Scardura claimed a second place finish on that debut effort and looks to be well hadnicapped to make a bold challenge in this field of five.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

PINGSHOU still warrants a bit of respect for this effort, as he makes a return for the first time since wind surgery. He has fallen on his last two, but this is an easier effort for him.

Pingshou is a former Grade 1 winner as well. This is the first effort over the jumps for some time, but it’s worth watching in the market.

MASTER WORK is going to be our pick for the contest though from a 5/1 quote* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 20:45 GMT on Sunday, 27th September 2020).

He did produce a win in this sphere at Fontwell in October. He has had a reappearance run, claiming second place at the same venue recently. He has 10lb over Pingshou and can show.
