A big field is in play here and heading up the market is PRUSSIA WITH LOVE at 9/4* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:21 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020).

She scored a good win on her return to action to give her claims on what is her first run for a new yard.

There is probably more to come and she has looked very good since the switch to handicapping.

She showed a good turn of speed in getting her score at Uttoxeter on her last trip and has a good chance to get another on the board in this one.

At the very least she has to be on the shortlist as she switches from Dan Skelton and goes for Brian Ellison.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ASK PADDIGINGTON could be an interesting player in this field at 10/3* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:21 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020). He is starting for a new yard as well.

He has not been in action for 7 months when he put together a good second-place finish at Musselburgh. He is in good hands here and can make an impression.

Also in this big field, we will look at LASTOFTHECOSMICS who has to be considered. He scored a win on his last run, which was also his return to action.

That score came at Perth just over a month ago. It wasn’t the greatest of races and Lastofthecosmics benefited from the mess, but he was composed and comfortable in getting the score.

There should be more to come from BLUESKYANDSUNSHINE as he makes his handicap debut here.

His form has been steady and on his hurdle debut last month (also his reappearance) he took second at Uttoxeter. The switch to handicapping should unlock more.

The race favourite for this small field is GIFTS OF GOLD at 9/4* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:21 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020).

He is making his debut appearance on the all-weather and he hasn’t been seen since February.

That was in a Meydan effort where he was a distant seventh in the Nad Al Sheba Trophy over 14f.

He is off a workable mark here and last year in a similar trip at Yarmouth, he rattled the crossbar. This is a tough, competitive field he is facing here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

INFRASTRUCTURE may be able to make an impact on his return to action. He was last out on the racetrack in December last year, when he struggled to get himself up to speed.

The key for him here is a drop in trip, which should see him pose a threat, even after a considerable absence.

We are not sure what to make of EL GHAZWANI because of his mark. He is one of the stronger horses in the field though and has had more recent action than most.

45 days ago he was 6th in a 9-runner Windsor handicap where he ran out of steam at this distance. He has scored though in 6 of 15 previous all-weather trips and goes for a new yard.

This is a very competitive looking race and ARTHUR’S SIXPENCE heads the market for it at 11/10* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:21 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020).

He is an excellent horse and has scored in all three runs since his reappearance Arthur’s Sixpence is getting a 7lb penalty here, but he looks good enough to deliver depsite that.

He likes to attack the field and he has been jumping well. He handled himself well over nineteen and a half furlongs last time out to score and should be able to pull off this trip. Arthur’s Sixpence has leading claims.

KITTY’S LIGHT should be right in the mix after getting a score on the board at Southwell last time out.

It was a really accomplished run that he put together there and even though he takes on an extra 5lb, he has to be on the shortlist.

Kitty’s Light looks to be on top of his game for trainer Christian Williams at the moment and claims 5lb for his jockey anyway.

OSCAR ROSE would have to take appeal from the rest of the field in this one having been a previous hurdle winner.

He piled into a Stratford novice just over a month ago to collect second place on his fences debut. There could be more to come as he travelled very well in that contest. This is tougher though.

Race Favourite

The race favourite for the seventh race of Sedgefield’s Thursday card is NOW CHILDREN at 10/3* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:21 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020). On his hurdle debut he claimed a good second place at Huntingdon.

He has been travelling fairly well since, without quite having reached that initial form and promise that he showed from his debut. He gets the headgear for the first time in this one, but he may be worth taking on in this field.

RIGHT DESTINATION looks to be in good shape to launch a bold claim for this race. He was second at Stratford last month for his reappearance and the six year old stays at the same mark.

Notably the horse that beat him there has since gone on to win. So Right Destination has to be considered for this contest and he claims 3lb for his jockey.

TWO BLONDES does have a slightly tough hand dealt to him by the assessor in this one. But last month he made a return to the fences on his renewal, which was at Stratford in July.

It was a decent enough run there, enough to suggest that he could be sharper this time and after a couple of flat efforts in June, he’s a match fit.

We have a really exciting sprint on our hands here and KEEP BUSY is the 11/4 favourite for the fixture* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:21 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020).

She has received a very good draw here to start with, from number 2.

But her form has been there as well, collecting a good second place in a York Handicap last time out, which followed a win at Hamilton. She looks to be heading in the right direction at the moment and brings some leading claims to the contest.

TARBOOSH looks to be in the frame of mind to challenge the favourites, as he is a good sprinter when he is in the mood.

Last week he had a run at York and took a good third there under handicap conditions. Gets the boots of going from stall 1 so he could be in the frame.

MAJOR JUMBO has the blinkers for the first time and looks to be a player here. He is a nice consistent type who looks to enjoy himself.

Major Jumbo was in a Listed race at Chester last time out, but tried to do too much too soon and settled for second.

There’s only a small field of five here and the 7/4 favourite is ILARAAB* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:21 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020). He has put things together quickly following a below-par debut.

It has been back to back wins for him, so the progress is clearly happening at the moment.

His last win was impressive, stepping up to 9.5f with a penalty on board as well to get the victory. With his first foray into handicapping here, Ilaraab may take some stopping.

HMS PRESIDENT does have claims for this one as well after he took a 4th place finish at Royal Ascot in the Golden Gates handicap.

He has really been pushing on with his progress since there and struck a second place at Newbury on his last run. He should handle a 5lb hike easily enough.

HUBOOR has the experience to make a bold claim here. He has been knocking around some good handicapping companies this year.

At this same mark he rattled the crossbar at Haydock on a 1m trip in his last run. He’s a threat in this field.

VIOLA is the race favourite for this one at 2/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:21 GMT on Wednesday, 26th August 2020). She only found one better on her last run three weeks ago. Notably, that was over course and distance.

It was landed in a field of twelve as well and that means that she has to bring some leading claims for this one. She has been building and building to better things this season as she looks to break her maiden.

BILLHILLY is a previous course and distance winner and is one of the more experienced runners in this field.

He is likely to find things a bit more to his liking getting back onto the Polytrack as well.

His last run was 20 days at Wolverhampton when he was fourth of eight and looked just a shade below form.

ESCALADE is going straight on the shortlist for this effort as well. On his last run, he claimed second place in a Wolverhampton handicap from a field of eight.

He gets the cheekpieces on for the first time here and should be a big player.
