Race Favourite

CASABLANCA MIX is the current even-money favourite for this Listed fixture at Market Rasen* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:01 GMT on Wednesday, 4th November 2020).

It was a second place finish that she collected on her last run.

That most recent effort for trainer Nicky Henderson was a reappearance run at Chepstow from this same market.

That was against the opposite sex as well. But the run alone should give her a good advantage here.

Casablanca Mix is a former Listed chase winner. She was in really sharp form last season, getting Listed wins at the Summer Plate and on a run at Aintree.

She is going to line up as the one to beat.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

MY OLD GOLD and still needs some respect. The 10 year old was another who was in very good form last season.

She is still relatively low mileage despite her age. My Old Gold hasn’t been seen since a runners up effort at Carlisle in March.

That has been her only run since scoring in a Doncaster handicap in December last year.

The other name for the shortlist will be BIT ON THE SIDE. She will need to find more however to produce up at this level.

She made her chase debut three weeks ago, taking a respectable second place finish at Fakenham. It was a start of promise in this sphere, and pl claims are reasonable.

The current market leader is GRAN LUNA at 4/7* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:01 GMT on Wednesday, 4th November 2020).

This will be the second run of her career after having performed very well on her debut.

That first run was over course and distance 8 months ago in a bumper. So this is her hurdles debut here and is shaping up as the one to beat in his fixture. It has

UK Racing Odds & Tips

WILL VICTORY is likely to enter the calculations in this one. She has won his two runs over the hurdles so far, both in France, so she should feature.

The most recent of those wins was in August by more than a length.

Will Victory is with a new stable for the first time here and offers plenty of appeal because of the hurdles form at 4/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:01 GMT on Wednesday, 4th November 2020).

SATURN ‘N SILK could do a little better here than the good stuff she has already produced over the hurdles. She was sent into a novices hurdle a couple of weeks ag Saturn N Silk took second place. So there looks more to come from her.

Race Favourite

The current 7/4 favourite is IMPERIAL ACOLYTE* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:01 GMT on Wednesday, 4th November 2020).

It has been two trips over the fences for him and has failed to complete either of those.

He was a faller in his first attempt. He was running very well on his most recent effort though.

That was just under three weeks ago here at Market Rasen. Unfortunately he unsated his rider, but if he manages to put in a clean run, he has to feature.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

DE BARLEY BASKET was beaten into sixth place on his chasing debut. But he ran very well in the race and needs to be respected as he comes back into action.

He will be better for the experience and the low place in the field is a bit deceptive as he ran better than that. That chasing debut for De Barley Basket did happen here at Market Rasen.

FR HUMPREHY looks to be in decent enough shape to launch a solid challenge in this one as well. On his last run he took third place at Huntingdon three weeks ago.

That’s a form which could be taken forward. The visor is going on for the first time as connections look to pull more out of him.

THIRD WIND is the current 4/1 favourite for this contest* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:01 GMT on Wednesday, 4th November 2020).

This will be his reappearance run as he looks to kick koff the season on a positive note.

He was going superbly well over the hurdles last season, scoring an excellent win in December at Wincanton.

In the final of this Pertemps Network Handicap series, he took fourth in the final back in March at Cheltenham.

He demands a ton of respect in his contest, especially as he is at the same mark as he was for the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

PRESENT CHIEF is storming along on a big upward curve for Jonjo O’Neill and needs to enter the picture. Since coming into handicapping he has been a sensation.

The 3m trip is where he has been flourishing at as well, scoring at the distance in Uttoxeter and Warwick in the last two months.

There’s a lot more on offer as well. He has big appeal, but knocking over Third Wind may just be a touch too much to ask.

FUGITIVE DRIFT is another that is heading the right direction. He is coming up in trip and trainer Nicky Henderson won this race last year.

It’s been two wins from two for Fugitives Drift this season. The most recent of his scores happening in a handicap debut at Hereford a couple of weeks ago.

It’s going to be great to see what 3m drags out of him. He may be the one to oppose the favourite with at 11/4* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:01 GMT on Wednesday, 4th November 2020).

Race Favourite

We have MORNING VICAR heading up the market currently at 9/4 for the handicap chase* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:01 GMT on Wednesday, 4th November 2020).

He has been knocking around in some competitive form this season. It has been back to back runners up spots that he has taken from his two trips.

Those were chase efforts at Uttoxeter and Market Rasen, both for his new yard. So Morning Vicar’s been in the mix well and the former dual bumper/hurdles winner probably shouldn’t be counted out as his progress continues in this sphere.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

REDFORD ROAD brings some strong claims forward here, having scored in a Grade 2 hurdles effort before. That was at Cheltenham in December last year.

He was last seen in a novices chase at Perth in September and put in a credible run to take a third place finish there. This will be his first go at the handicap.

It is likely there will be a lot more to come from him and has big appeal at 11/2 to take on the favourite* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:01 GMT on Wednesday, 4th November 2020).

CHESTERFIELD piques a little bit of interest as well in this field. He made a good return to form recently. That was at Kelso on a 2m 1f trip last month.

Chesterfield has not taken a win for a couple of years, but he brings place claims we feel. He retains the cheekpieces and his run at Kelso shows some promising signs. On a good mark, he’s one to watch.

SOLID STONE is the 9/4 favourite for this flat action* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:01 GMT on Wednesday, 4th November 2020).

He has shaped up very well this season and last month he shone here at Chelmsford City.

It was a course and distance win that Solid Stone banked in his penultimate race, his second win of the season.

He was then seen at the Balmoral handicap at Ascot just under three weeks ago. Solid Stone produced even better for there and he looks to have some leading claims for this one.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

THE GILL BROTHERS was fourth behind Solid Stone on his reappearance run this season. He rattled off a second-place finish on his last run, finding just the one too good on a 1m trip at Kempton a month ago.

He is only up 1lb in the ratings, so needs to be watched still. The Gill Brothers is also a previous winner here at Chelmsford. He goes beyond 1m for the first time.

The rest of the field in this one looks a little hit and miss. But RED OCTOBER has shown signs of top form this season, having won two of his four trips.

He was last in action on the turf at York and claimed a victory there. The other score that Red October has banked this season happened on his reappearance, a course and distance effort in August.
