Race Favourite

The favourite for Race 2 of Beverley on Wednesday is JAMAIS ASSEZ at 9/2* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 23:37 GMT on Tuesday, 11th August 2020).

He produced a good second place in a 6f handicap on his last effort.

He retains the tongue strap following that run which was almost 40 days ago.

Jamais Assez is up 3lb from that last run but looks on a good mark for this contest.

The conditions look likely to be a lot faster than what he faced at Ayr, but still Jamais Assez has leading claims nonetheless.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

PROUD ARCHI will be looking for further success at Beverley. He has scored over course and distance three times before.

He hasn’t won anywhere since 2018 however. On his last effort he battled well to take 5th of 17 in a York Handicap. He faded a bit, but has to have place claims in this one.

GINGER MAX is another interesting contender for this Beverley Handicap. He returned to action this season landing back to back to wins.

He gets the hood on for the first time for this one. On his last run he claimed what turned out to be a very good fourth at Musselburgh over 7f after being heavily hampered during his run. He’s on a very fair mark and can show well.

MAY SONIC is the 7/4 favourite for this contest, which is Race 5 at Kempton* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

He produced a win on his last trip, which was a 6f sprint at Windsor.

May Sonic did claim a win at Kempton last year too. He really had plenty in him on that recent score at Windsor and looked a world better for having been given a bold run.

That was also a score after having gone up 6lb, because he has done some very good work this season.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

It would not be much of a surprise if LAST SURPRISE was in the picture here from a current 10/3 quote* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

She is still sitting on a fair mark as the 3 year old filly, who comes back just over six months away from action.

Last Suprise scored a win at Jebel Ali in January and most of the best work that she has done throughout her career has been at the 6f distance. She may be a threat if she comes back into action on top of her game.

TOP BREEZE scored a win over course and distance on his debut. He has just been struggling to find his footing a little bit following a win at Lingfield on a minimum tip at the end of February.

He will be blinkered for the first time and although he is at the top of the weight, the Richard Hughes-trained Top Breeze is one to keep on side.

KENDRED SOUL is the current 9/2 market leader for Race 5 from Beverley on Wednesday* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020). He is a previous course and distance winner.

On his last run he produced a good effort to get 5th of 9 in a Doncaster handicap over a 6f distance.

That was just over two weeks ago. He may just find a little more in back down a 5f as he looked a little uncomfortable at 6f.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

SHEPHERDS WAY looks to be back in form after scoring at Haydock in July.

Because of that, she takes up a 7lb rise for this contest and based on how well she ran last time out, that may not be enough to stop her.

She doesn’t have a great draw however, but looks to have plenty of progression in her. Shepherds Way needs to be on the shortlist.

GINGER JAM closed out last season in winning fashion and he has tallied six wins from 17 trips on the flat.

He was second from last on a 5f trip at Newmarket on his last run. Ginger Jam is claiming 5lb for jockey Faye McManoman in this one.

The big claims from him is that he scored in all four course and distance efforts.

BENNY AND THE JETS is the 2/1 favourite for this Wolverhampton contest* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020). This is Race 4 from the day’s card there.

He returned to action this season with a win in June. He then posted an excellent 4th in a Goodwood handicap over the 5f trip a couple of weeks ago.

Benny And The Jets didn’t get the cleanest run there. The form is there and he is also a former course winner.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

COWBOY SOLDIER is nicely handicapped for this contest. His last effort saw him take 4th of 7 in a Chepstow handicap a month ago.

He is one that should be kept on side for this contest and he has scored in one of his two previous efforts on the Tapeta as well. Cowboy Soldier is also a former distance winner.

SIR OLIVER has had a good season for trainer Richard Hughes. He also claims 3lb for jockey Finley Marsh in this one.

After scoring on his return this season it has been a fairly solid campaign thus far. He was a little off colour on his last run at Bath but still took 4th. He’s one to watch in this field.

Race Favourite

KODIAC PRIDE is the 6/5 favourite at the head of the market for this Wolverhampton trip over 7f* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 9th August 2020).

He crossed the line first on his last run but was disqualified for a light jockey (after the saddle cloth was lost in the race).

That saw him get denied back to back wins for the season so he is in great form at the moment regardless of that last result.

He has every chance of snapping back to winning ways and it means that he didn’t get an extra penalty anyway because of the result of the last race. He is probably going to be the one to beat in this one.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

HAJJAM should be on the radar as well for this one after claiming second place in an Ayr handicap a couple of weeks ago.

He has also received the booking of Oisin Murphy on top of that. Hajjam will be looking for his first win since 2018 but should at the very least have place claims in this contest.

AMPLIFICATION round out the picks for this handicap. He gets the cheek pieces for the first time after taking 6th of 17 in a York Handicap just over two weeks ago.

Amplification had a slow start in that contest. He has not been in tip-top shape but has to be competitive off of his mark in this kind of field.
