The first race of our preview for racing on Wednesday is Fillies’ Handicap at Lingfield. Heading up the market is WALIYAK at 11/8* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:37 GMT on Tuesday, 1st September 2020).

On her last appearance, Waliyak took fourth of 8 in a York handicap over this distance and that was just under a couple of weeks ago.

She looks to be heading in the right direction with two runners-up finishes before that.

She does get a 5lb claimer in the saddle as well to potentially boost her chances.

Her best performance so far was her second place in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot this year.

The other pick that we are going to have to look at for this race is FOLK DANCE.

She collected a win on her last run, wasting no time in making amends for a second-place at Yarmouth when she was odds-on.

She comes up on a trip here which may push her on after her Newmarket score.

An interesting one here is MELNIKOVA who was heavily supported at Ascot almost two months ago.

But she blew her lines there badly, not showing an ounce of potential that she had done as a juvenile.

But will the daughter of Frankel be better for that experience? She gets cheekpieces on for the first time.

This is going to be a competitive scrap and the current market leader for this 18-runner handicap hurdle is HUNTING PERCIVAL at 3/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:37 GMT on Tuesday, 1st September 2020).

It has been two wins in three racetrack appearances from him so far, one on his hurdles debut.

He is coming up in trip after scoring on a reappearance 41 days ago in a Uttoxeter novice effort. There should be more to come from him.

GAVROCHECKA has some appeal to launch a bold bid in the contest as her form in the last runs has been good.

She scored at Market Rasen in her penultimate race, before looking as if she was going to follow that up Southwell straight after.

But she got caught a little cold and didn’t get her finish timed well, but still took third place.

ESPALION is worthy of some respect in this contest. He had a very good reappearance recently when he claimed second place in a course and distance handicap hurdle 41 days ago.

He hasn’t been treated badly at all, taking on just an extra 2lb. But that’s wiped out by a 3lb claimer, so he will check some boxes.

It’s a big field so we can look at one more name. That will be the unexposed (over the hurdles) CASAMAX who comes into his handicap debut here.

He is also going up in trip and this is all going to be about him tapping into the potential that he produced in taking 3rd on his handicap debut 7 months ago.

This is one of the higher-quality races on show from UK Racing on Wednesday. The 3/1 favorite currently for the score is DEAD RIGHT* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:37 GMT on Tuesday, 1st September 2020).

He looks to be on a good mark here as he comes back into action.

Punters may be a little cautious about him after he pulled up in his last two efforts of the previous campaign. But he was showing a lot before that blip.

OSCAR ROSE is worth a look in this contest. She made her chase debut at Stratford recently and she looked very strong in it.

Oscar Rose was in contention a couple from home but then started to fade a tad in the 21f trip to push for the win.

But she only found a very good rival too good for her on the day and will excel back under handicapping terms.

We have to throw a glance at FORECAST as well, who is on his day, arguably the best horse in this field. He has secured plenty of hurdles wins in his career.

On his handicap debut at Perth in August he was shaping very well before he took a tumble. If he gets it right over the fences on the day he could be tough to stop.

PERFECT MYTH is the 3/1 favourite for this Mares’ Handicap Hurdle* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:37 GMT on Tuesday, 1st September 2020).

Her followers will have been pleased with her second-place finish recently on what was her reappearance.

That was a course and distance run and it came on her first go following wind surgery.

She also gets headgear on for this one and, given the recent show of form on the same trip, she has to come into contention once again on Wednesday.

GREEN OR BLACK is heading in the right direction this season. She reappeared with a fifth-place finish, but kicked on a bit to then claim third over the hurdles at Stratford.

She stays at the same mark as well for this trip so has to be one for the shortlist.

The other pick from the bunch has to be the much-respected EVA’S DIVA who is making her first racetrack appearance in six months.

However, she is one of those who can easily come back fresh and deliver a power-performance. Eva’s Diva is off a workable mark and is a very useful hurdler.

SRI SENE POWER is the 5/2 favourite for this run at Bath* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 23:37 GMT on Tuesday, 1st September 2020). The unexposed filly will be looking at her handicap debut in this contest.

Just over a couple of weeks ago she came back into action and scored a Windsor win in a minor run.

It was a run of potential though and she claimed that win with ease. This may be a little tougher for her but improvement is expected.

ROSA GOLD is bang in form at the moment having just completed a hattrick of runs. That came in a field of 10 at Chepstow under handicap terms 47 days ago.

She had plenty to spare in that run at the end as well and won’t mind the extra trip because of that. Rosa Gold brings some leading claims and carries a 5lb claimer.

BY MY SIDE is in decent shape at the moment as well. She was carrying the penalty last time out and still fought well to get the runner up spot at Salsbury three weeks ago.

She has been in the frame in each of her last four races now, scoring once.
