The US Open Tennis betting 2021 brings us the final Grand Slam action of the calendar year.

The draw at Flushing Meadows Has been cut down a little bit in terms of quality, as some big names are missing from the men’s draw.

There’s no reigning champion Dominic Thiem, Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal taking place this year.

So that leaves the full focus on Novak Djokovic who is looking to make a clean sweep of all 2021 Slams.

When and where is the US Open Tennis 2021

The first-round action in New York starts on Monday, August 30th and the event, as usual, will run for two weeks.

The men’s final will be held on September 12th.

Tournament Favorite for US Open Tennis Betting

The great Novak Djokovic is the current 4/6 odds-on favourite in US Open tennis betting odds* (odds recorded at 20:26 GMT on August 27th, 2021 at 888Sport).

For any player to be heading into a Slam as an odds-on favourite says a tremendous amount about them.

This is Novak Djokovic who is a three-time winner of the US Open.

Those titles for Djokovic at the tournament happened in 2011, 2014 and 2018. He will be looking for big redemption this year too.

Djokovic was ejected from the 2020 US Open draw in the fourth round after hitting an official with a ball.

The Serbian is targeting a career first here.

With the Australian Open, Wimbledon and French Open titles in the bag already for 2021, he could become just the third man in history to make a Calendar-Year Grand Slam.

After leaving the Olympic Games with no medal, surprisingly, having lost the bronze medal match to Pablo Carreno-Busta, we imagine he will be fired up.

Our betting prediction:
Alexander Zverev Outright
11/2

Is Alexander Zverev the biggest threat to Djokovic?

Germany’s Alexander Zverev may still be on the hunt for his first Grand Slam title, but he has produced a fantastic 2021.

He eliminated Djokovic in the semi-finals of the Olympic Tournament before going onto win the gold medal at the event.

With a recent title at ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati (his second ATP Masters 1000 title for the year), his hard court form has been proven.

Zverev looks to be peaking just at the right time and rates a big player at 4/1 in US Open tennis odds* (odds recorded at 20:26 GMT on August 27th, 2021 at 888Sport).

He nearly made that Grand Slam breakthrough last year at Flushing Meadows, going 2-0 up against Dominic Thiem.

But Zeverev just couldn’t close things out and lost the final set on a tie-breaker.

The interesting thing about Zeverev’s record at Flushing Meadows is that he has improved his result from the previous year in each of his last three editions.

Can Daniill Medvedev break through?

Another of the top players in the draw for US Open tennis betting is Daniil Medvedev.

Just like Zverev, he has been a losing finalist at the US Open.

Medvedev was runner-up to Rafa Nadal in the 2019 US Open final. Last year the Russian had another deep run, reaching the semi finals.

In early 2021 Medvedev reached his second Grand Slam final, losing in straight sets to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open.

Medvedev, who was one of the players most vocal about the extreme heat conditions at the Olympic Games, bowed out of the tournament in the quarterfinals.

Current hard court form is right there, with Medvedev recently having won the Canadian Open and having reached the semifinals of the Cincinnati Masters as well.

There is a quote of 15/4 on Medvedev winning the US Open this year* (odds recorded at 20:26 GMT on August 27th, 2021 at 888Sport).

Can Stefanos Tsitsipas shine in New York?

World number three Stefanos Tsisitaps is a quote of 15/2 in US Open tennis betting* (odds recorded at 20:26 GMT on August 27th, 2021 at 888Sport).

The Greek star has picked up two titles this year, both of them on clay. It’s been a good season for him at the Grand Slams.

Tsitsipas reached the semi finals of the Australian Open before losing the French Open final to Djokovic in five competitive sets.

The Olympic tournament didn’t pan out for him, but he has returned some very good recent hard court form.

Tistitpas reached the semi-finals of both the Canadian Open and Cininciation at the ATP Masters 1000 level in his last two tournaments.

He is expected to get deep into the draw at Flushing Meadows in 2021. This will be just the fourth appearance at the US Open by Tsitsipas.

His previous best effort was a Third Round exit last year.

Others to note

ANDY MURRAY is in the draw for the US Open but is a long 150/1 shot to claim the title* (odds recorded at 20:26 GMT on August 27th, 2021 at 888Sport).

With more realistic chances, there is MATTEO BERRETINI who has had a fantastic season.

ANDREY RUBLEV recently lost the final of ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati to Zverev, notably beating compatriot Daniil Medvedev in the semis.

HUBERT HURKACZ could be a good threat in the field as well. After his brilliant semi-final at Wimbledon, he’s a dangerous float in the draw. A quarter-final finish at the ATP Masters 1000 Canada gives him hard court form.

Another player easily on the up is young Canadian FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME who recently beat Matteo Berrettini on his way to a quarter-final finish at the ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati where he was stopped by Tsitsipas.

US Open Tennis betting predictions

The draw isn’t as stacked this year with Federer and Nadal both massively notable absentees. But the winds of change are blowing through the ATP.

That strong young crop of the likes of Zverev, Medvedev and Tsitsipas are definitely on the rise when it comes to the Slams.

There really is no tennis betting value on Djokovic at odds-on. That’s a pretty crazy prize, but understandable given what is at stake.

But a Calendar-Year Slam has evaded him twice before and it’s just no easy feat to pull off.

As his strike rate at the US Open is so far down on his efforts at Wimbledon and the Australian Open, that he may be worth posting.

Alexander Zverev has had a very strong second half of the season and just gets the nod at a quote of 11/2 in US Open tennis betting* (odds recorded at 20:26 GMT on August 27th, 2021 at 888Sport).

Having beaten Djokovic on the way to the gold medal at the Olympics, his confidence just has to be through the roof at the moment.

The hard court form and recent track record at Flushing Meadows puts Daniil Medvedev firmly in with a shout.

The other big one with form is Stefanos Tsitsipas who brings hard court form having reached the final four of Canada and Cincinnati recently.
